Stony Brook University is a world renown research university and my alma mater. Having studied my bachelors and masters in mechanical engineering here, I grew fond of the people and places that define this university. I have been filming and photographing campus events since my freshman year, but haven't had the chance to compile a video that just displayed the campus in its entirety. This aerial film reel captures all the places that defines the campus, from buildings that I spent countless hours in learning to those I spent fostering friendships. My hope is that this video will stir up fond memories of alumni and inspire freshmen who are just beginning their journey.

Stony Brook University
The State University of New York at Stony Brook (also referred to as Stony Brook University, SUNY Stony Brook, SBU) is a public sea-grant and space-grant research university located in Stony Brook, New York in the United States. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
The institution was founded in 1957 in Oyster Bay as State University College on Long Island. What would become the university moved to Stony Brook in 1962. Since its establishment in Stony Brook, the university has expanded to include more than 200 major buildings with a combined area of more than 11 million gross square feet across 1,454 acres of land. In 2001, SUNY Stony Brook was elected to the Association of American Universities, joining four private universities (Cornell, Columbia, NYU, and Rochester) and one public university (SUNY Buffalo) elsewhere in its state. It is also a member of the larger Universities Research Association for which its president Samuel Stanley is a council president.

Dubbed "SB Guardian," the new system acts like the more than 140 emergency blue light phones littered around campus, except being able to be activated from a user's cell phone.

WHY IT'S MORE FUN IN UPSTATE NEW YORK
My friend and I went to Stony Brook State Park in Dansville, New York over the weekend and had a great time! Stony Brook is one of the major state parks in upstate New York and probably one of the oldest ones. It consists of three trails that are fairly easy to get through and there are also areas where people can go swimming. This place is a must-see for those who are visiting upstate New York and just one of the reasons why New York state parks are the best. With love from me to you zapeti Music: Jeff Kaale-roadtrip

My friend and I went to Stony Brook State Park in Dansville, New York over the weekend and had a great time! Stony Brook is one of the major state parks in upstate New York and probably one of the oldest ones. It consists of three trails that are fairly easy to get through and there are also areas where people can go swimming. This place is a must-see for those who are visiting upstate New York and just one of the reasons why New York state parks are the best.

The Gregorian Chant Group at Stony Brook sings the conductus, "Congaudeant catholici."* This group is composed of music history graduate students at Stony Brook University.** From right to left: Michael Richardson, David Blake, Jack Blaszkiewicz, JJ Hudson.
"Congaudeant catholici" comes from the 12th century manuscript the "Codex Calixtinus," a travel guide for pilgrims to the shrine of St. James the Great at Santiago de Compostela in Spain. It is believed that pilgrims may have chanted this piece while making their journey. The work is thought to have been composed by Albertus Parisiensis (flourished 1146-47), and it is the first known composition for three voices.
