Bletchley Park is famed for its success at dismantling German and Japanese codes. It's thought to have shortened World War II by two years and saved thousands of lives.
Something apart from patriotism, courage and brilliance fuelled the work of the mostly young codebreakers. They were actively encouraged to fall in love with each other because authorities thought that it would help the war effort, an historian has found.
