Keoki Franconi (born October 18, 1966), known by his stage name DJ Keoki, is a Salvadoran-American electronic musician, among other genres, DJ. Born in El Salvador and raised in Hawaii, Keoki began advertising himself as "superstar" shortly after moving to New York City.
Keoki Franconi was born in El Salvador but moved to Kihei, Maui, when he was 8. After graduating from Kailua High School he moved to the mainland to study at an airline school in California. Franconi then enjoyed a brief career with several airline operations in New York City, among them the now defunct Trans World Airlines, while also being a busboy at the city's trendy Danceteria club. It was at Danceteria that he got his start:
While in New York, he met and began a romance with Michael Alig. Alig rose to international notability as the head of "the Club Kids" gang, a group of diverse partygoers who would dress in costumes each night and form parties in New York and all over the United States.
Party Monster may refer to:
Michael Alig (born April 29, 1966) is an American former club promoter, musician and writer who served almost 17 years in prison for manslaughter. Alig was a prominent member of the Club Kids, a group of young New York City club goers that became a cultural phenomenon during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
In October 1997 Alig pleaded guilty to manslaughter after killing and dismembering fellow Club Kid Andre "Angel" Melendez in a confrontation over a drug debt in March 1996. He was sentenced to ten to twenty years in prison and was released on parole in May 2014.
Born in South Bend, Indiana, Alig is the second of two sons born to John and Elke Alig. His mother Elke, a native of Bremerhaven, Germany, moved to the United States after marrying John Alig, a computer programmer. Alig's parents divorced when he was four years old.
Alig attended Grissom Middle School and Penn High School where he was a straight A student. He graduated in the top 8% of his class. During his teenage years, Alig was often the subject of bullying on account of his homosexuality. Seeking a less conservative social environment after graduating in 1984, he attended Fordham University in New York City. He studied architecture there before transferring to the Fashion Institute of Technology. There he met the boyfriend of artist Keith Haring who introduced Alig to New York City nightlife. Alig soon dropped out of school and began working at Danceteria as a bus boy.

Arnie and Ethel's feelings of suspicion are stirred when a Hawaiian stranger named Keoki (Pomaika'i Brown, 50 First Dates) offers to harvest their lychee. He weeps, he rails, he mopes. Finally, his step-brother Brian suggests Hawaii, so Peter heads for a resort on Oahu where, as he's checking in, he sees Sarah and her new beau, Aldous, a polymorphously perverse English rocker. The weeping and moping start again, until Peter is rescued by Rachel, a thoughtful hotel clerk who invites him to a luau and to hang out. Although he constantly runs into Sarah and Aldous, Peter starts to come alive again. Will Sarah realize what she's lost, and what about Rachel?

Plot: Set in the New York club scene of the late 1980's thru the 1990's, a tale which chronicles the rise and fall of club-kid promoter 'Michael Alig' (qv), a party organizer, whose extravagant life was sent spiralling downward when he boasted on television that he had killed his friend, roommate, and drug dealer, Angel Melendez. Originally from Indiana, Alig moved to New York, and came to be an underground legend, known for his excessive drug use and outrageous behavior in the club world. At his peak, he had his own record label, and magazine, and hosted Disco 2000, one of the biggest club nights in New York in the '90s. He was doing a lot of drugs, and as his addiction got worse, his party themes became darker and more twisted. Alig's saga reached its tragic crescendo when he viciously murdered his drug dealer, Angel, by injecting him with Drano and throwing him in the East River. The power he wielded on the club scene made him feel untouchable, so he didn't hestitate to boast of the murder. The press thought it was a publicity stunt--until Angel's body washed ashore.

His fiery wife Bella soon becomes jealous of the tree, which the husband has lovingly named Mel, and it seems to be developing a will of its own. 'Luau' tells of Auriol, a flamboyant and ambitious literary agent who will do anything to impress her sinister new client, though he seems more interested in Auriol's beautiful and precocious young daughter Ginny. James St. James sat down with long-time friend Superstar DJ Keoki in the WOW studio, and they had an illuminating chat about their NYC club kid days (sharing some scandalous stories!), what Keoki's been up to lately, what his interactions with Michael Alig have been in recent years, and how he's feeling now about all that happened in the club kid era, as chronicled in "Party Monster." Plus, James and Keoki discuss the new wave of Party Monster parties that have been thrown across the country recently, including the Party Monster party that they'll both be appearing at TONIGHT at Trexx in Syracuse, NY - if you're in the area, come on by and meet James and Keoki!
Keoki - Caterpillar (Original Mix) 1996
DJ Keoki visits Michael Alig and Ernie Glam. They discuss Keoki's move back to NYC, Keoki's opinion of Party Monster and Wilmer Valderrama, and Keoki's new music.
This is the track that appears on the DJ mix album called Disco Death Race 2000 which was released in 1996 by Keoki. It is his own mix of a previously released track of the same name or simply "Speed", depending on which release you are listening to, by Alpha Team.

Party Monster: The Shockumentary is a 1998 documentary film detailing the rise of the club kid phenomenon in New York City, the life of club kid and party promoter Michael Alig and Alig's murder (with Robert "Freeze" Riggs) of fellow club kid and drug dealer Angel Melendez. Based in part on the James St. James book on the memoir, Disco Bloodbath, the film combines interview footage of Alig from prison, St. James, scene watchers like Michael Musto and a number of other former club kids with archive footage from various parties and dramatic re-enactments.
Moonshine Music created one of the first national DJ tours in America. American Massive shows how they toured the country, playing over 25 shows in 30 days. See how Carl Cox, DJ Dan, Dave Aude, Christopher Lawrence, Keoki, Dieselboy, AK 1200, Dara, Micro, Cirrus, Frankie Bones and more lived on a bus for a month playing raves and clubs around the U.S.A. in a year when the U.S. Attorney General was indicting event promoters and trying to shut down anywhere that played techno. Watch how Disco Donnie's night in New Orleans was raided by over 60 police officers. It's almost "Spinal Tap" for DJs. This will give you a glimpse of the earlier days of dance music and EDM festivals in the U.S. BPM Network Partner
