Kenneth "Kenny" Smith, nicknamed "The Jet" (born March 8, 1965) is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association and went on to become a TV basketball analyst, primarily for Inside the NBA on TNT and for CBS/Turner during the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.
Smith was born in Jamaica, Queens, New York and grew up in Lefrak City. He attended Archbishop Molloy, where he was coached by the legendary Jack Curran, the winningest coach in New York City and New York State history. Smith graduated in 1983 and then played basketball at the University of North Carolina for Dean Smith. In his young career he played for the New York Riverside Church.
Smith was selected as a 6'3" 170 lb point guard by the Sacramento Kings with the sixth pick of the 1987 NBA draft. He played in the NBA from 1987 to 1997 as a member of the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, and Denver Nuggets. In his professional career, Smith scored 9,397 points and recorded 4,073 assists. He won two NBA championships with the Rockets in 1994 and 1995. In the first game of the 1995 Finals against the Orlando Magic, Smith made seven three-pointers, including a game-tying shot which sent the game into overtime. The Rockets won the game 120–118.

Plot: Henry Primo, desperate for acceptance and popularity, invites everyone to his 16th birthday party. Unfortunately, that includes the twisted Jim Kizay, a local bad seed who slips Henry narcotics. The next morning, Henry wakes from a hangover to discover seven of his classmates are dead and he's the prime suspect. Local authorities consider it an open and shut case, locking him away in a state mental institution. Fifteen years later, Henry's parents convince the courts to release Henry, and they return him to a specially constructed cell in their home. They only want their son back... the son they lost fifteen years earlier. But Henry has changed. He refuses to speak and only communicates in writing. He seems harmless, but is he? During his time alone, Henry developed amazing powers. He's a case study in ESP and Mental Telepathy. He remembers everything he touches, hears, and sees. And most astonishingly, he knows what everyone is thinking, but no one knows what's on his mind...

The game which should be remembered because of Kenny Smith, not because of Nick Anderson. The Jet started the game off slowly as did his Houston team and was hesitant to take the looks he had at he basket. But Kenny ended up being the one to continue a run started by Clyde Drexler as The Jet scored 15 points in the third quarter and knocked down his seventh three (the NBA Finals record of that time) for the 23rd point of his that forced the overtime. June 7, 1995.
Kenny Smith and Jason Terry have a 3 Point Shooting contest to determine the Jet really is on Inside the NBA on TNT.
They speak such blasphemies on Inside the NBA, but this one might take the cake. We will only be able to speculate, but Kenny "the Jet" Smith believes that even with MJ on the court, the '94 Rockets would have kept the Bulls from a 4th straight NBA title. Agree? On Friday, Complex News caught up with Inside the NBA's Kenny Smith to deconstruct his Emmy award-winning show and talk a bit about this year's season. In addition to breaking down some of the show's more outrageous moments, including the time he threw Shaq into a Christmas tree, Smith touched on this year's Golden State Warriors (which he calls the league's "most improved" team) and whether or not he believes LeBron James' legacy will be undercut if he doesn't bring a ring to Cleveland. Gone too far since that first tender kiss I never dreamed that it would lead to this
Gone too far to ever let you go
Would I turn back if I could well maybe I should but it's gone too far
Gone too far since you first held my hand gone too far it's not the way I planned
Gone too far for now I love you so
I could say we're through but if it still be you cause it's gone too far
Everyday I need you just a little more
And every night I'm one dream deeper than before
Because it's gone too far this love I have is real
And nothing now can change the way I feel
Right or wrong I'm yours with all my heart
Would I turn back if I could well maybe I should but it's gone too far
