The Visayas /vᵻˈsaɪəz/ və-SY-əz or the Visayan Islands (Visayan: Kabisay-an; Tagalog: Kabisayaan), is one of the three principal geographical divisions of the Philippines, along with Mindanao and Luzon. It consists of several islands, primarily surrounding the Visayan Sea, although the Visayas are considered the northeast extremity of the entire Sulu Sea. Its inhabitants are predominantly the Visayans.
The major islands of the Visayas are Panay, Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, and Samar. The region may also include the islands of Romblon and Masbate, whose population identify as Visayan and whose languages are more closely related to other Visayan languages than to the major languages of Luzon.
There are four administrative regions in the Visayas: Western Visayas (4.7 million), Negros Island Region (3.6 million), Central Visayas (6.8 million), and Eastern Visayas (4.1 million).
A theory proposed by some scholars states that the term Visayas was derived from the name of a 7th-century thalassocratic Malay Srivijaya Empire. In Sanskrit, sri (श्री) means "fortunate," "prosperous," or "happy" and vijaya (विजय) means "victorious" or "excellence". In the 12th century, parts of the Sulu Archipelago and the Visayas Islands were either subject or tributaries of the empire.
Central Visayas (Filipino: Gitnang Kabisayaan) is a region of the Philippines, designated as Region VII. It is located in the central part of the Visayas island group, and comprises three provinces: Bohol, Cebu, and Siquijor; and three highly urbanized cities: Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu, and Mandaue. Cebu City is the regional center. The region is dominated by the native speakers of Cebuano. The land area of the region is 10,102 square kilometres (3,900 sq mi) and with a population of 5,513,514 people.
In 2015, the region was redefined, when Region VII lost the province of Negros Oriental to the newly formed Negros Island Region. Prior to this, the region had a population of 6,800,180 at the 2010 census, with an area of 15,875 square kilometres (6,129 sq mi). . In the 2013 election, it had 4,114,046 registered voters.
Regions first came to existence in on September 24, 1972, when the provinces of the Philippines were organized into 11 regions by Presidential Decree No. 1 as part of the Integrated Reorganization Plan of President Ferdinand Marcos.
TV Patrol is the flagship national network news broadcast of ABS-CBN in the Philippines. It can be heard simultaneously on radio through DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and its cable channel counterpart DZMM TeleRadyo and on provincial radio stations based in Palawan (765 kHz), Cebu (1512 kHz) and Davao (1296 kHz), with several MOR stations nationwide (103.1 Baguio, 93.5 Naga, 93.9 Legazpi, 94.3 Tacloban, 98.7 Zamboanga, 91.9 Cagayan de Oro and 95.1 Cotabato). It is also broadcast overseas via ABS-CBN's international brand, The Filipino Channel. It is the longest-running Filipino spoken evening newscast since its inception on March 2, 1987.
In the fourth quarter of 1986, ABS-CBN News executives, among them the then News Manager Angelo Castro, Jr., began holding meetings with higher-ups on plans to launch an all-new news program that will serve as a replacement to Balita Ngayon. On March 1, 1987, ABS-CBN announced the launch of TV Patrol during the public variety extravaganza "Ang Pagbabalik ng Bituin" (The Return of the Star) at Luneta Park, Manila.
TV Patrol Central Visayas (formerly TV Patrol Cebu) is the local news program of the ABS-CBN Regional Network Group in Mandaue City. It has been the most watched news program in Metro Cebu and Central Visayas as well as Dumaguete (although Negros Oriental with its provincial capital was formally transferred to the newly-created Negros Island Region). The program delivers news headlines about the current events in Central Visayas and Dumaguete. It is aired live daily from the ABS-CBN Newscenter Cebu at 5:00 PM, from Monday to Friday, with simulcast over Channel 9 Bohol and Channel 12 Dumaguete and on radio thru DYAB Radyo Patrol 1512 Cebu.
Anchored by Leo Lastimosa, TV Patrol Central Visayas had been recognized by Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) as the Best TV News Program in 2005 and in 2008. It was further given recognition by Cebu Archdiocesan Mass Media Awards (CAMMA) as the Best TV News Program in 2007 and 2009.
In addition, it is the only newscast in the Philippines with a using video traffic system and sign language of the news for audience with visual difficulties along with TV Patrol Palawan.

The Philippines (i/ˈfɪlᵻpiːnz/; Filipino: Pilipinas [ˌpɪlɪˈpinɐs]), officially known as the Republic of the Philippines (Filipino: Republika ng Pilipinas), is a sovereign island country in Southeast Asia situated in the western Pacific Ocean. It consists of about 7,500 islands that are categorized broadly under three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The capital city of the Philippines is Manila and the most populous city is Quezon City; both are part of Metro Manila.
To the north of the Philippines across the Luzon Strait lies Taiwan; Vietnam sits west across the South China Sea; southwest lies Malaysia in the island of Borneo across the Sulu Sea, and to the south the Celebes Sea separates it from other islands of Indonesia; while to the east it is bounded by the Philippine Sea and the island-nation of Palau. Its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator makes the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons, but also endows it with abundant natural resources and some of the world's greatest biodiversity. At approximately 300,000 square kilometers (115,831 sq mi), the Philippines is the 72nd-largest country in the world.

This is Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City, Philippines. It is a celebration to commemorate the arrival of Baby Jesus in the island that eventually turned the culture and faith of the community for the better -- like how the story went to the rest of the world ... It is such a great privilege to witness and cover this great event in the Visayas Island. It is then with utmost pride that we highly recommend to local and foreign tourists alike to also experience this festival of all festivals! While it is a celebration of culture and faith, it is very much a celebration of life, of triumph amidst difficulties, of rising above the storm, of going and moving on, of climbing the highest mountains with vigor, optimism and strong faith in our hearts. Yours truly decided to borrow the music sang...

10 days in Central Visays, Philippines. The region is made up of the provinces of Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental and Siquijor, and the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue. Cebu City is the economic center for Region VII and for the whole Visayas. Unfortunetly we get time to visit only Cebu and Bohol Island. Traveling from Cebu to Bohol is quiet easy, many ferries and private boats propose the service. Cebu is more wild and less touristic than Bohol. Bohol is verry famous for scuba diving. The film was shot on two GoPro (3+ black & 4 silver), DJI Osmo X3 and Canon G5x cameras. Edition and effects were performed with Movie Studio 13 Platinum. Oh Cindy ain't you noticed that several of your friends have moved on
And the street outside is just a little too quiet
And your local papers (the Berkshire and Windsor annoyance)
run out of news
I'm not persuading you or disengaging you
But Cindy you and me we've got to move
Can you refuse, no time to lose
We'll hit the high road early this morning
So don't be late, don't hesitate
This dream can pass just as fast as lightning
And Cindy and incidentally baby ain't putting you on
Can you refuse, no time to lose
We'll hit the high raod early this morning
So don't be late, don't hesitate
This dream can pass just as fast as lightning
Oh Cindy don't you worry 'cause between us we can make it through
There ain't nothing no no nothing in the world I can do without you
So Cindy get your coat on leave the rent with the gent in the penthouse
Turn your music so loud let's attract a big crowd
We'll drink a round to this town and bid goodbye
