+Imtiaz Subhani​ Nexus 5 is not oart of supported devices for Nougat. It's last major update was lollipop but it's still being updated though only for security patches. If you really want Nougat check out custom roms.

This is one of the major updates in Nougat and does improved notifications so it does need to be mandatory.
 
Also, seamless updates will be optional for the foreseeable future.
