Andy Warhol (/ˈwɔːrhɒl/; born Andrew Warhola; August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became a renowned and sometimes controversial artist. The Andy Warhol Museum in his native city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, holds an extensive permanent collection of art and archives. It is the largest museum in the United States dedicated to a single artist.
Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. He was also a pioneer in computer-generated art using Amiga computers that were introduced in 1984, two years before his death. He founded Interview magazine and was the author of numerous books, including The Philosophy of Andy Warhol and Popism: The Warhol Sixties. He managed and produced The Velvet Underground, a rock band which had a strong influence on the evolution of punk rock music. He is also notable as a gay man who lived openly as such before the gay liberation movement. His studio, The Factory, was a well known gathering place that brought together distinguished intellectuals, drag queens, playwrights, Bohemian street people, Hollywood celebrities, and wealthy patrons.

With Andy Warhol every yes contained a no and every beginning an end. Welcome to the mysterious and wonderful world of ANDY X.

Plot: Oliver Stone's homage to 1960s rock group The Doors also doubles as a biography of the group's late singer, the "Electric Poet" Jim Morrison. The movie follows Morrison from his days as a film student in Los Angeles to his death in Paris in 1971, at the age of 27. The movie features a tour-de-force performance by Val Kilmer, who not only looks like Jim Morrison's long-lost twin brother, but also sounds so much like him that he did much of his own singing. It has been written that even the surviving Doors had trouble distinguishing Kilmer's vocals from Morrison's originals.

In this clip from 1980, Andy Warhol toured Miami Beach for his exhibition “Jews of the 20th Century” at the Lowe Art Museum. One of his visited locations was The Villa by Barton G. This visit turned into an event, which gathered fans, groupies and the media. Check out some of the excerpts from the interview: Interviewer: “Your work tends to be sensational, you want attention?” Andy Warol: “No. That’s not true, I work most of the time. Well, they make me do this.” Interviewer: “This must feed your arsenal.” Andy Warhol: “No it doesn’t. We have a business going in New York. We have a magazine and a TV station.” Interviewer: “Do you want those who buy your work, to keep it and study it and live with it?” Andy Warhol: “And then sell it. It’s like everything else, I think like everything else...
About The Collection As a cutting-edge visual artist, Andy Warhol embraced technology and saw it as the future of contemporary culture and the arts. Whether it was carrying his audio recorder that he called his "wife" everywhere with him, or constantly wearing headphones to listen to the latest music and recordings of conversations with his famous friends, Warhol lived and breathed the gadgetry of his time to continually evolve as an artist and creative thinker. In addition, he pioneered the use of digital technology with his enthusiastic adoption of the computer as an artistic tool. It is only fitting that Incase fuses his artwork with our technology driven designs. As the preeminent American artist of the 20th Century, Andy Warhol challenged the world to see art differently. It is from danish filmmaker Jorgen Leth, the scene appears in his art movie "66 scenes from america" which was filmed in 1981. Jorgen Leth did not know Warhol, but he was a bit obsessed with him so he definitely wanted to have him in his movie. Friends told Leth that he "should forget about it" and that he could never even approach Warhol. Andrew Warhola, comúnmente conocido como Andy Warhol, fue un artista plástico y cineasta estadounidense que desempeñó un papel crucial en el nacimiento y desarrollo del pop art.
Title: The Velvet Underground and Nico Director: Andy Warhol Year:1966 Language: English 16mm, black and white Even ardent fans of the velvet underground will probably move uneasily in their chairs during this picture. The movie includes everything, except for a VU performance. The band IS there, and they are playing, but it is an incoherent jam session from hell rather then something familiar. Warhol accompanies the music with repeating focus shifts, lighting experiments, bizarre camera movements, etc., all of which combined create an hypnotic trance-like effect, not to be forgotten soon. Warhol also chooses to let only the diegtic sound from the amplifiers be heard, and thus whole sequences, such as the cops who arrive to stop the show on account of various complaints from neighbors, ...

Andy Warhol, looks a scream,
Hang him on my wall.
Andy Warhol, silver screen

Tie him up when he fast asleep,
Send him on a pleasant cruise.
When he wakes up on the beach
Be sure to think of me and you.
To think and paint, to think about glue,
What a boring thing to do.
