A ridgeway (road) is a road or path that follows a ridge, or the highest part of the landscape.
The Ridgeway is a ridgeway or ancient trackway described as Britain's oldest road. The section clearly identified as an ancient trackway extends from Wiltshire along the chalk ridge of the Berkshire Downs to the River Thames at the Goring Gap, part of the Icknield Way which ran, not always on the ridge, from Salisbury Plain to East Anglia. The route was adapted and extended as a National Trail, created in 1972. The Ridgeway National Trail follows the ancient Ridgeway from Overton Hill, near Avebury, to Streatley, then follows footpaths and parts of the ancient Icknield Way through the Chiltern Hills to Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire. The National Trail is 87 miles (140 km) long.
For at least 5,000 years travellers have used the Ridgeway. The Ridgeway provided a reliable trading route to the Dorset coast and to the Wash in Norfolk. The high dry ground made travel easy and provided a measure of protection by giving traders a commanding view, warning against potential attacks.
National Trails are long distance footpaths and bridleways in England and Wales. They are administered by Natural England, a statutory agency of the UK government, and Natural Resources Wales (successor body to the Countryside Council for Wales), a Welsh Government-sponsored body.
National Trails are marked with an acorn symbol along the route.
In Scotland, the equivalent trails are called Long Distance Routes and are administered by Scottish Natural Heritage.
Gary Leon Ridgway (born February 18, 1949) is an American serial killer known as the Green River Killer. He was initially convicted of 48 separate murders and later confessed to nearly twice that number. As part of his plea bargain, an additional conviction was added, bringing the total number of convictions to 49, making him the most prolific American serial killer in history according to confirmed murders. He murdered numerous women and girls in Washington State during the 1980s and 1990s. Most of his victims were alleged to be prostitutes and other women in vulnerable situations, including underage runaways. The press gave him his nickname after the first five victims were found in the Green River; his identity was not known. He strangled the women, usually by hand but sometimes using ligatures. After strangling them, he would dump their bodies in forested and overgrown areas in King County, often returning to the dead bodies to have sexual intercourse with them.
On November 30, 2001, as he was leaving the Kenworth truck factory where he worked in Renton, Washington, he was arrested for the murders of four women whose cases were linked to him through DNA evidence. As part of a plea bargain wherein he agreed to disclose the whereabouts of still-missing women, he was spared the death penalty and received a sentence of life imprisonment without parole.
A serial killer is a person who murders three or more people, usually due to abnormal psychological gratification, with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant break (a "cooling off period") between them. Some sources, such as the FBI, disregard the "three or more" criterion and define serial killing as "a series of two or more murders, committed as separate events, usually, but not always, by one offender acting alone".
Although psychological gratification is the usual motive for serial killing, and most serial killings involve sexual contact with the victim, the FBI states that the motives of serial killers can include anger, thrill, financial gain, and attention seeking. The murders may be attempted or completed in a similar fashion, and the victims may have something in common: age group, appearance, gender, or race, for example.
Serial killing is not the same as mass murdering, nor is it spree killing, in which murders are committed in two or more locations in a short time. However, cases of extended bouts of sequential killings over periods of weeks or months with no apparent "cooling off period" or "return to normalcy" have caused some experts to suggest a hybrid category of "spree-serial killer".

Lois Collier is the girl-on-the-spot of the title because she was on the scene of a murder. The police conclude she didn't do it and they use her to set a trap for the real killer, a G&S; addict, by financing a Broadway production starring Collier. The police department evidently found the money for financing a Broadway show under "Misc.Expenses" in the city budget.

The challenge was to walk the Ridgeway National Trail in around 7 days, in aid of The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research. Our journey began on Friday 20th October 2006, travelling to Marlbrough for an overnight stay, setting off early the next morning. The event was a success for Simon, who did a great job and managed to walk the 85 miles in just 6 days!! Well done Simon!! I, unfortunately, had to pull out after 12 miles with a foot and hip injury. Despite this, I hung around encouraging Simon, and supplying the odd cup of coffee along the way. The Ridgeway National Trail is 85 miles long, stretching from Avebury in Wiltshire, over rolling, open downland to the west of the River Thames, and through secluded valleys and woods in The Chilterns to the east, finishing near Ivinghoe in He...

[Verse 1:]
Years and Feelings
Hopes and Wishes
How many of them we share
How many of them we dare
To show, To Grow
Promise not let it go
Now look, what we become
So gone now, And I don't even get it
How a love like ours could fall apart in one minute
I'm sleeping in a happy home
The next minute, I'm walking out an open door...
[Pre-Chorus:]
And I'm driving down the rear way, swerving off
Trying to get myself together, Hoping I don't cry
Wanting to be together
But this feeling getting worse
Oh I never thought I ever feel this hurt
[Chorus:]
Now it's all I feel, it's all I feel
So I'm hoping like hell that it ain't 4real
Now it's all I feel, it's all I feel
Wishing that it ain't but I know that it is
2 days ago I felt like a star
2 hours ago just lost my heart
Now it's all I feel, it's all I feel
It's all I feel, it's all I feel
[Verse 2:]
Now I remember when I first knew ya
And I was all that had on your mind
Did I ever mean anything to ya
Or was I just something you did to pass the time
Cause now you won't hear me out
You ain't even tryin to work it out
But I ain't going back
And even though I'm scared
I got too much pride
So I'm in my ride...
[Bridge:]
What you gonna do when you miss my love?
I guarantee that you're gonna miss my love
I thought what we had was real
And the pain is all I feel...
What you gonna do when you miss my love?
I guarantee that you're gonna miss my love
I thought what we shared was real
And the pain is all I feel
So I'm Driving...
