Andrew Lloyd (born 14 February 1959) is best known for coming from behind in the last lap to take the 5000m gold medal in the 1990 Auckland Commonwealth Games.
Lloyd was born in Colchester, Essex, England. He represented Australia at the 1988 Summer Olympics and 1985 and 1989 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. He won many prestigious Australian road races in the 1980s and 1990s including the 1983, 1984, 1986 and 1993 City to Surfs, the 1979, 1980 and 1981 Melbourne Marathons (2:26:44, 2:17:37 and 2:19:03 respectively) and the 1980 Gold Coast Marathon (2:23:02).
Lloyd, who's performances in big events had come under question, won a dramatic 5000 metres final at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland's Mount Smart Stadium in 1990. Running third coming into the final bend, Lloyd passed Welshman Ian Hamer and set out after the leader, the reigning Olympic Games 5000 metres champion John Ngugi from Kenya. Ngugi was tiring and with about 5 metres to go Lloyd powered past to win in a time of 13:24.86, just 0.08 in front of the Olympic champion.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, Baron Lloyd-Webber Kt (born 22 March 1948) is an English composer and impresario of musical theatre.
Several of his musicals have run for more than a decade both in the West End and on Broadway. He has composed 13 musicals, a song cycle, a set of variations, two film scores, and a Latin Requiem Mass. Several of his songs have been widely recorded and were hits outside of their parent musicals, notably "The Music of the Night" from The Phantom of the Opera, "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar, "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina" and "You Must Love Me" from Evita, "Any Dream Will Do" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and "Memory" from Cats.
He has received a number of awards, including a knighthood in 1992, followed by a peerage from Queen Elizabeth II for services to Music, seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, fourteen Ivor Novello Awards, seven Olivier Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Brit Award, the 2006 Kennedy Center Honors, and the 2008 Classic Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is an inductee into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, and is a fellow of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.
"Joseph" is a masculine given name originating from Hebrew, recorded in the Hebrew Bible, as יוֹסֵף, Standard Hebrew Yossef, Tiberian Hebrew and Aramaic Yôsēp̄. In Arabic, including in the Qur'an, the name is spelled يوسف or Yūsuf. The name can be translated from Hebrew יהוה להוסיף YHWH Lhosif as signifying "JEHOVAH will increase/add".
In the Old Testament, Joseph is Jacob's eleventh son and Rachel's first (Yossef ben-Yaakov in the Jewish Bible). In the New Testament, Joseph is the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus. In the New Testament there is another Joseph as well, Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple of Jesus who supplied the tomb in which Jesus was buried.
The form "Joseph" is used mostly in English, French and German-speaking countries. The name has enjoyed significant popularity in its many forms in numerous countries, and Joseph was one of the two names, along with Robert, to have remained in the top 10 boys' names list in the US from 1925 to 1972. It is especially common in contemporary Israel, as either "Yossi" or "Yossef", and in Italy, where the name "Giuseppe" was the most common male name in the 20th century.

2001-01-19 - 'So Graham Norton', London A funny moment talking about Andrew Lloyd Webber This video seems to be taken from a documentary or something like that about Graham Norton career. It would be very cool to find the full interview.
From an early age, singer, composer, actor Dana Gillespie of London was destined to sing the blues. She was also destined to follow in the footsteps of Indian Holy Man, Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This internationally acclaimed artist shares her amazing story with Souljourns in two parts. In Part I she tells how she got to claim an important singing role in the original London production of, Jesus Christ Superstar. After being initially attracted to India to be with Sai Baba, little did Dana know that it would take 12 years before the famous Holy Man would say one word to her. Video for this news interview account of Dana Gillespie comes from Souljourns, Youtube, Radio Sai Global Harmony and the musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, the first musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to b...

Set in New York City, The Other Guys follows Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell), a forensic accountant who's more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets, and Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city's top cops, Danson and Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don't quite go as planned. MPAA Rating: PG-13 © 2010 Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
The program's heyday was in the early 1950s, when radio actor, producer and director Elliott Lewis took over (still during the Wilcox/Autolite run). Here the material reached new levels of sophistication. The writing was taut, and the casting, which had always been a strong point of the series (featuring such film stars as Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten, Henry Fonda, Humphrey Bogart, Judy Garland, Ronald Colman, Marlene Dietrich, Eve McVeagh, Lena Horne, and Cary Grant), took an unexpected turn when Lewis expanded the repertory to include many of radio's famous drama and comedy stars — often playing against type — such as Jack Benny. Jim and Marian Jordan of Fibber McGee and Molly were heard in the episode, "Backseat Driver," which originally aired February 3, 1949. The highest production va...
