London i/ˈlʌndən/ is the capital and most populous city of England and the United Kingdom. Standing on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. It was founded by the Romans, who named it Londinium. London's ancient core, the City of London, largely retains its 1.12-square-mile (2.9 km2) medieval boundaries and in 2011 had a resident population of 7,375, making it the smallest city in England. Since at least the 19th century, the term London has also referred to the metropolis developed around this core. The bulk of this conurbation forms Greater London, a region of England governed by the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. The conurbation also covers two English counties: the small district of the City of London and the county of Greater London. The latter constitutes the vast majority of London, though historically it was split between Middlesex (a now abolished county), Essex, Surrey, Kent and Hertfordshire.

VICE is free software, released under the GNU General Public Licence.
It's also available for a variety of platforms: for instance VICE for Microsoft Windows (Win32) is known as WinVICE, the OS/2 variant is called Vice/2, and the emulator running on BeOS is called BeVICE.
As of version 2.1, released December 19, 2008, VICE emulates the Commodore 64, the C128, the VIC-20, the Plus/4, the C64 Direct-to-TV (with its additional video modes) and all the PET models including the CBM-II but excluding the 'non-standard' features of the SuperPET 9000. WinVICE supports digital joysticks via a parallel port driver, and, with a CatWeasel PCI card, is planned to perform hardware SID playback (requires optional SID chip installed in socket).
Mystery meat navigation (also known as MMN) is a disparaging term coined in 1998 by Vincent Flanders, author and designer of the website Web Pages That Suck, to describe a web page where the destination of the link is not visible until the user points their cursor at it. Such interfaces lack a user-centered design, emphasizing aesthetic appearance, white space, and the concealment of relevant information over basic practicality and functionality.
The epithet "mystery meat" refers to the meat products often served in American public school cafeterias whose forms have been so thoroughly reprocessed that their exact types can no longer be identified by their appearances: like them, the methods of MMN are clear to the producer but baffling to the consumer.
Flanders originally and temporarily described the phenomenon as Saturnic navigation in reference to the Saturn Corporation, whose company website epitomized this phenomenon. Flanders writes, "The typical form of MMN is represented by menus composed of unrevealing icons that are replaced with explicative text only when the mouse cursor hovers over them".

In the run up to the 2015 general election, a war is going on for the right to live in London. Rapid gentrification – praised as "regeneration" by local councils and property developers, derided as "social cleansing" by critics – is breaking up established communities. In some cases, families who've lived in London for generations are left homeless; in others, they are forced to move across the city or out of it completely. Meanwhile, the real estate opportunities are making lots of people – many of whom do not actually live in London – very rich. Watch the first episode of SMOKEABLES: How to Make a Gravity Bong - http://bit.ly/28XSWBi All across the world, governments are rethinking their attitudes towards the criminalisation of cannabis. Yet in Britain, fusty politicians terrified by that video of Jon Snow losing his mind on super-skunk are refusing to free the weed, uncurb the herb or liberate the oregano dream pipe. We went along to Hyde Park to join London's most ardent weed advocates for the annual 4/20 celebrations, which this year doubled as a protest rally for those who want cannabis to be legalised. We caught up with Big Narstie, watched the police make an array of arrests, talked to some of the activist-stoners and found out why you should always smoke through an Eric Cartman bong. Since 2010 there have been 1,800 reported acid attacks in the London, with a steep 70% rise between 2015 to 2016. As the number of victims grows, data suggests Britain has the worst record in the developed world for assaults with household acids like bleach and drain cleaner. Only a quarter of recorded attacks have lead to charges being brought, for fear of a repeated attack or a lack of trail for police to pinpoint attackers. Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News Over the last year a quasi-religious turf war has sprung up on the streets of London. Young radicalised Muslim patrols are enforcing Shariah law in the capital. In reaction, far right Christian Patrols are also taking the law into their own hands. Since the Woolwich killing, anti-Muslim rhetoric as been at an all time high, and the right-wing Christian Patrols are only exacerbating the rising tensions. These two marginalised but potentially dangerous London subcultures believe that society has failed their communities enough that they are now taking to the streets to implement or defend their ways of life, according to their opposing politicised and religious ideologies. The irony being that while their shared aggressiv...

Rave Culture is one of Britain’s great cultural exports, but after its first wave in the late eighties and early nineties, it was soon forced into the underground by stringent new laws and superclubs. But forward 25 years into in the midst of a nationwide purge on the nation’s nightlife, where nearly half of all British clubs have shut down in the last decade, and a new kind of scene has emerged. Clive Martin investigates this 21st century version of Rave, where young people break into disused spaces with the help of bolt-cutters and complicated squatting laws, to suck on balloons and go hard into the early morning. But with the police using increasingly extreme tactics to clamp down on these parties, and more than one fatality causing nationwide media panic, can the scene survive? Watc...

But in the last year UK BikeLife culture – where young scooter riders upload videos of themselves wheelie-ing down motorways and through industrial estates – has exploded, with the scene’s leaders picking up thousands of YouTube and Instagram followers in the process. These British riders are beginning to receive international attention, not least from Baltimore’s notorious dirt bike club, the 12 O’Clock Boys. Although they may lack the CCs of their American counterparts, they’ve done a good job of making up for it with charisma and a dedication to the underdog of the two-wheeled world: the humble moped. In London Bikelife, Daisy-May Hudson lets a nostalgia fo...

Watch more episodes of Rule Britannia here: http://bit.ly/1kCmmkN Since the trend of teenagers modifying their "affordable" cars with go-faster stripes, neon under-lights, and dump valves really took off in the 90s, the media and public have been wary of boy racers. The British government has attempted to force them out of town centers with surveillance, and the cops spend their nights hunting them in unmarked cars. Understandably, this has driven boy racers to abandon the bright lights for industrial areas, country lanes, and parking lots where they can blare happy hardcore, jungle, bassline, and pull off handbrake turns to their hearts' content. In the film, we follow the boy racers as they try—with varying degrees of success—to unify the scene in their local area. In Essex, we find ...
