A gateway is a link between two computer programs or systems such as Internet Forums. A gateway acts as a portal between two programs allowing them to share information by communicating between protocols on a computer or between dissimilar computers.
Some examples of common gateways:
Gateway Technical College (also GTC) is a technical college serving Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth counties in Wisconsin. It has major campuses in the Kenosha, Racine and Elkhorn communities. There is a campus center in Burlington, and Advanced Technology Centers in Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie, and Sturtevant. It is one of the largest members of the 16 schools in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
Institute of technology (also: university of technology, polytechnic university, technikon, and technical college) is a designation employed for a wide range of learning institutions awarding different types of degrees and operating often at variable levels of the educational system. It may be an institution of higher education and advanced engineering and scientific research or professional vocational education, specializing in science, engineering, and technology or different sorts of technical subjects. It may also refer to a secondary education school focused in vocational training. The term institute of technology is often abbreviated IT and is not to be confused with information technology.
The English term polytechnic appeared in the early 19th century, from the French École Polytechnique, an engineering school founded in 1794 in Paris. The French term comes from the Greek πολύ (polú or polý) meaning "many" and τεχνικός (tekhnikós) meaning "arts".
While the terms "institute of technology" and "polytechnic" are synonymous, the preference concerning which one is the preferred term varies from country to country.
A default gateway in computer networking is the node that is assumed to know how to forward packets on to other networks. Typically in a TCP/IP network, nodes such as servers, workstations and network devices each have a defined default route setting, (pointing to the default gateway), defining where to send packets for IP addresses for which they can determine no specific route. The gateway is by definition a router.
In a home or small office environment, the device, such as a DSL router or cable router that connects the local network to the Internet will act as the default gateway for all network devices.
In enterprise systems, there may be many internal network segments. A device wishing to communicate with an Internet address for example, will forward the packet to the default gateway for their segment. This in turn may pass the packet to a series of further default gateways before it leaves the enterprise. In such a situation, each gateway node may also act as a proxy server and a firewall.
An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each device (e.g., computer, printer) participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. An IP address serves two principal functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing. Its role has been characterized as follows: "A name indicates what we seek. An address indicates where it is. A route indicates how to get there."
The designers of the Internet Protocol defined an IP address as a 32-bit number and this system, known as Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4), is still in use today. However, because of the growth of the Internet and the predicted depletion of available addresses, a new version of IP (IPv6), using 128 bits for the address, was developed in 1995. IPv6 was standardized as RFC 2460 in 1998, and its deployment has been ongoing since the mid-2000s.
IP addresses are usually written and displayed in human-readable notations, such as 172.16.254.1 (IPv4), and 2001:db8:0:1234:0:567:8:1 (IPv6).

The number of CS majors has declined by 50 percent in the last five years, despite the fact that the projected need for computer scientists continues to grow. The goal of the Alice project is to provide a positive first experience with computer programming (currently the most common gateway to computer science), to middle school students through college freshman. Alice allows students to use a drag-and-drop interface to construct Java-like programs whose outputs are 3D computer-generated movies. NSF-funded validation at the freshmen level has shown that exposing at

This fake tech support company was sent in to me for creating fake Windows Pop-Ups saying that your personal information may have been leaked. This scammer was a very typical scammer, Lied about Windows Defender not working when really it was just disabled because Comodo was the primary anti-virus. He lied and went into msinfo and said the normal disabled services are not supposed to be disabled, Then went on to say normal logs in msinfo were not supposed to be there and indicate issues with the computer. After this scam he went into CMD and ran the Tree command and changed the text color to red to make it look more real. Then before he was finished typing his fake messages the "Scan" finished and he was still typing his fake message that the network firewall was missing and drivers were ...

Christa Quint - Helping Students Build a Conceptual Framework to Learn Computer Science - CS Pedagogy Meetup - Teach for America NYC - Nov 19 2016. (for grades 9-12) Most students have years of experience studying English, math, and history but have only just begun to study computer science. In fact, your class may be your students' first experience with computer science. This means that CS educators not only need to teach content, but they also need to develop students’ conceptual framework for studying computer science. This session outlines some pedagogical practices that help students become better learners within the general CS context as well as the area of programming specifically. Christa Quint is a Computer Science teacher at Urban Assembly Gateway School for Technology. http...
