Local Communities in Serbia Invited to Design Climate-Smart Urban Development Solutions

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and the UN Resident Coordinator in Serbia Karla Robin Hershey, signed today the Development Partnership Framework between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the UNCT for the period 2016 to 2020.

The renovated premises of the Red Cross in Kanjiza, ceremonially opened today, will facilitate the work of the RC's employees and more than 100 volunteers who provide assistance to the most vulnerable citizens and migrants residing in the municipality.

In today's challenge entitled Samo ne autom (engl. Just not by Car) a total of 600 employees from 50 companies / organizations took part and left their cars in the parking lot while opting to walk or cycle to work – and at the same time help protect the environment.

IDAHOT (International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia) was created in 2004 to draw the attention of policymakers, opinion leaders, social movements, the public and the media to the violence and discrimination experienced by LGBTI people internationally.

During The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF), UNDP signed an Action Plan with the Chinese government that aims to put the advancement of the cooperation in practice through: information exchange; projects cooperation; policy coordination; building partnership and capacity building.

The first “Diaspora Overachievers in the Service of Development” meeting took place on 13 May 2017 in Paris, France. The overall project includes researches, interviews and such forums in Paris, London, New York and Ottawa - fostering the network and materials important for the preparation of “Diaspora Home Office - Investment Centre”.
