Macca is heading our way

Describing a 'drugged' koala, Paul McCartney announces his first tour to Australasia in 24 years.

McCartney is touring four Australian cities in December. It will be the first time he has set foot in the country since 1993.

The Beatles star will hold an additional concert at Melbourne's AAMI Park on Wednesday 6 December. The singer has also extended his tour by one more day, locking in a second Sydney concert on Tuesday 12 December at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena.

Tickets for McCartney's Melbourne shows go on sale from midday, while tickets for his Sydney shows are available from 5pm.

The singer-songwriter will also be playing shows in Brisbane and Perth, but not Adelaide - despite the City of Churches giving McCartney and his fellow Beatles one of their biggest ever public receptions more than 50 years ago.

Promoters promise the shows will be an "unforgettable experience", featuring massive screens, lasers and even fireworks.

The One On One tour kicked off in the United States back in 2016. Since then, McCartney has played 41 shows across 12 countries.
