The Walking Dead comic book just introduced a Jesus / Aaron romance – will the TV show follow suit?

We bloody well hope so!

While we have been waiting to see if they get together in the TV series, The Walking Dead comic books have confirmed a romance between Jesus and Aaron.

The pair have been subject to will-they-won't-they speculation, though comic #169 has confirmed that they will finally become an item.

As per Comicbook.com, we learn about their relationship when Rick Grimes asks for Jesus' help on a trip to Ohio.

"When I said I have something worth staying for – it was a someone," he tells Rick. "A specific someone, actually. It's Aaron. I was talking about Aaron. He's not going to want to go either."

It looks like he'll develop much more as a character then, though given that the TV series is quite far behind the comics, it may be a few seasons yet before this takes place on screen – if at all. Don't cop out, AMC!

Meanwhile, Jesus actor Tom Payne has been teasing the upcoming eighth season of the show, suggesting that the scripts are "out-of-this-world amazing".

He noted: "I always told myself I wouldn't say what I've heard other cast members say every other year, which is, 'Oh the next season is gonna be this! And the new episode is so many superlatives and so many words you use!' And I'm like, 'Come on, you can't say the same things every year!'

"Season eight, the first few episodes are out-of-this-world amazing. We've all been getting them and going, 'Wow, okay, we thought that was amazing!' and then the next episode is amazing."

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK.
