A film, also called a movie, motion picture or photoplay, is a series of still images which, when shown on a screen, creates the illusion of moving images due to the phi phenomenon. This optical illusion causes the audience to perceive continuous motion between separate objects viewed rapidly in succession. A film is created by photographing actual scenes with a motion picture camera; by photographing drawings or miniature models using traditional animation techniques; by means of CGI and computer animation; or by a combination of some or all of these techniques and other visual effects. The word "cinema", short for cinematography, is often used to refer to the industry of films and filmmaking or to the art of filmmaking itself. The contemporary definition of cinema is the art of simulating experiences to communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty or atmosphere by the means of recorded or programmed moving images along with other sensory stimulations.
The process of filmmaking is both an art and an industry.
Martin Sheen plays Tom, an American doctor who comes to St. Jean Pied de Port, France to collect the remains of his adult son, killed in the Pyrenees in a storm while walking The Camino de Santiago, also known as The Way of Saint James. Driven by his profound sadness and desire to understand his son better, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage, leaving his "California bubble life" behind. Armed with his son's backpack and guidebook, Tom navigates the 800 km pilgrimage from the French Pyrenees, to Santiago de Compostela in the north west of Spain, but soon discovers that he will not be alone on this journey. While walking The Camino, Tom meets other pilgrims from around the world, all broken and looking for greater meaning in their lives: a Dutchman (Yorick van Wageningen) a C...
I did my Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage in April/May 2004. To be authentic, I walked the whole French Way; 34 days, 18 kg of gear, 764 km on foot. I lost 8 kg in weight! I had read a lot about the Camino being a spiritual experience, and I wanted to try and capture on film my own reactions as I walked the way. I find watching the film a little difficult, I feel a little embarrassed at just how earnest and honest I was trying to be. But the reaction from viewers has been amazing. Still, all these years later, people contact me thanking me for documenting my journey. I have a little facebook page for the film. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Camino-de-Santiago-The-Way-Film/104389669617097?ref=hl Despite not really doing anything with this page, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger, rea...
Inspired by a true story, director Lance W. Dreesen's inspirational family drama tells the tale of a couple who are forced to endure a parent's worst nightmare when their two year old son vanishes without a trace. Much to the dismay of his wife Christal (Lori Beth Edgeman), Randy Simpkins (Dean Cain) always seemed more interested with work than family. One day, while watching their son Joe play in the front yard, Randy becomes momentarily distracted with work, and turns around to see that his son has simply disappeared. Frantic, the couple launches a comprehensive search for Joe, and the community quickly rallies around to help. With each moment Joe remains missing, Randy and Christal's marriage, as well as their faith, are put to the ultimate test.

YES! available now: http://smarturl.it/YesJasonMraz Listen to the playlist on Spotify! http://spoti.fi/1kbkkd9 Stream YES!: http://smarturl.it/JMYesStream Making a music video is challenging. To me a song is personal: its story, message, or melody resonating uniquely with each listener. And adding moving pictures can sometimes paint a mood or suggest an attitude that is different from the way the listener may hear the song in his/her heart. "We Can Take The Long Way" is an effort to not make one finite music video, and instead tell a story about love and life with several songs from 'YES!' playing a supporting role. I recommend you turn down the lights, crank up the volume, snuggle up to your beloved, and enjoy the film. Thank you, Jason Love Someone: http://youtu.be/J74Y6kDDTkM Hello,...
