With the Canon 6D Mark II so close to being released, does it make sense to still buy the original Canon 6D? The Canon 6D is the PERFECT camera except for one fatal flaw. If you can live with this fatal flaw than this could be the camera for you. Before I get into what this flaw is lets take a deeper look at the camera and its functions as well as how it performed in real world shooting situations. "Real World Review" TM
As many of you know I like to do real world shooting tests when I am reviewing gear. This means no shooting charts or over analyzing unimportant features. This also means I post the FULL RES exported files for you to review and make your own decisions on image quality. Be sure to watch the video above as I cover certain topics that I may not cover below in the written review.
Lets now take a look at the camera itself, how it feels. This camera feels great in the hands when you are shooting horizontically. I say that because any time you try and shoot vertical without a grip any camera will feel awkward. The rubber coating on the body makes it feel like you wont drop it and the build quality seems to feel very sturdy. As far as how it feels when your shooting, it feels just fine and people with small or large hands shouldn't have much of a problem handling this body. People with much larger hands should consider picking up the battery grip for added confort.

I worked at my internship for the first month and a half of summer, I went camping, explored with some friends, and have been just overall enjoying my time off from college.

So, I finally bit the bullet and went full frame buy buying the Canon 6D. As those who have been following my travel photography for a while already know, I'm not exactly wealthy. In fact, I really don't have much disposable income at all. Thus, well to many this might just be a new camera, to me the 6D is like finally making it. I fell like for years I've been fighting with the limitations of my camera gear a bit, but now, I can't make any of those same excuses.
Anyways, this is an unboxing of the Canon 6D. I also take you through some of the Canon 6D specs and give you my first impressions on what it feels like to hold, to shoot, and how it operates.
In this unboxing video I also take you through and compare the camera body to my old Canon 60D, and well one might be a cropped sensor and the other full frame, since I'm jumping from one to the other a comparison makes a bit of sense.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the 6D unboxing, I'll have some sample images from out in the field within a couple weeks. Stay tuned and subscribed!

Canon EOS 6D
The Canon EOS 6D is a 20.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS digital single-lens reflex camera made by Canon.
It was publicly announced on 17 September 2012, one day before the start of the photokina trade show. It was released in late November 2012 with a suggested retail price of US$2,099.00 (body only).
The 6D is offered as a body only or in a package with an EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM zoom lens; at introduction, the suggested retail price was US$2,899.00.
Features
The EOS 6D is the first Canon DSLR to feature GPS functions and built in Wi-Fi capabilities, which geotag images and allow files to be uploaded directly to Facebook, YouTube, or Canon Image Gateway; transferred to external devices; or sent to be printed on a Wi-Fi-enabled Canon printer. The wifi capabilities also allow remote control and viewing via many smartphones.
Weighing 770 grams (27 oz), the 6D is also Canon's smallest and lightest full-frame DSLR; comparable to the APS-C sensor 60D. The camera also features an ISO setting range from 50 to 102,400 which can be selected automatically or adjusted manually, an 11-point autofocus system, and an anti-glare 3.0 inches (76 mm) LED screen. The center autofocus point has a sensitivity of -3EV.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III is a professional full-frame digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera made by Canon. It has a 22.3 megapixel CMOS image sensor.
Succeeding the EOS 5D Mark II, it was announced on 2 March 2012, the 25th anniversary of the announcement of the first camera in the EOS line, the EOS 650. It was also Canon's 75th anniversary. The Mark III went on sale later in March with a retail price of $3,499 in the US, £2999 in the UK, and €3569 in the Eurozone.

As those who have been following my travel photography for a while already know, I'm not exactly wealthy. In fact, I really don't have much disposable income at all. Thus, well to many this might just be a new camera, to me the 6D is like finally making it. I fell like for years I've been fighting with the limitations of my camera gear a bit, but now, I can't make any of those same excuses. Anyways, this is an unboxing of the Canon 6D. I also take you through some of the Canon 6D specs and give you my first impressions on what it feels like to hold, to shoot, and how it operates. In this unboxing video I also take you through and compare the camera body to my old Canon 60D, and well one might be a cropped sensor and the other full frame, since I'm jumping from one to the other a comparison makes a bit of sense. It's an interesting question because one really has to look at what their budget is, whether or not the 6D is capable for their needs, and whether or not something else that is currently on the market would work for them.

The Canon 6D is the PERFECT camera except for one fatal flaw. If you can live with this fatal flaw than this could be the camera for you. Before I get into what this flaw is lets take a deeper look at the camera and its functions as well as how it performed in real world shooting situations. "Real World Review" TM
As many of you know I like to do real world shooting tests when I am reviewing gear. This means no shooting charts or over analyzing unimportant features. This also means I post the FULL RES exported files for you to review and make your own decisions on image quality. Be sure to watch the video above as I cover certain topics that I may not cover below in the written review.
Lets now take a look at the camera itself, how it feels. This camera feels great in the hands when you are shooting horizontically. I say that because any time you try and shoot vertical without a grip any camera will feel awkward. The rubber coating on the body makes it feel like you wont drop it and the build quality seems to feel very sturdy. As far as how it feels when your shooting, it feels just fine and people with small or large hands shouldn't have much of a problem handling this body. People with much larger hands should consider picking up the battery grip for added confort.

I worked at my internship for the first month and a half of summer, I went camping, explored with some friends, and have been just overall enjoying my time off from college.
Also I don't know if many of you have realized but I'm going to start uploading more. Hopefully bi-weekly to weekly uploads it just depends on how much time I have to film. Anyways hope you guys enjoyed this video it's probably my favorite that I've made : - )

So, I finally bit the bullet and went full frame buy buying the Canon 6D. As those who have been following my travel photography for a while already know, I'm not exactly wealthy. In fact, I really don't have much disposable income at all. Thus, well to many this might just be a new camera, to me the 6D is like finally making it. I fell like for years I've been fighting with the limitations of my camera gear a bit, but now, I can't make any of those same excuses.
Anyways, this is an unboxing of the Canon 6D. I also take you through some of the Canon 6D specs and give you my first impressions on what it feels like to hold, to shoot, and how it operates.
In this unboxing video I also take you through and compare the camera body to my old Canon 60D, and well one might be a cropped sensor and the other full frame, since I'm jumping from one to the other a comparison makes a bit of sense.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the 6D unboxing, I'll have some sample images from out in the field within a couple weeks. Stay tuned and subscribed!
