Gamal "LunchMoney" Lewis (born January 11, 1988) is an American hip hop recording artist. He is best known for his 2015 single "Bills", which topped the charts in Australia and peaked within the top ten of the charts in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Lewis was born in Miami, Florida. His father, Ian Lewis, and uncle, Roger Lewis, are both members of the reggae group Inner Circle and have a recording studio, Circle House, in which artists including Flo Rida and Lil Wayne have recorded. While a teenager, Lewis was given the nickname "LunchMoney" and his start in songwriting by hip hop producer Salaam Remi.
Lewis began working with Dr. Luke as a producer and first broke into wide recognition as a rapper after appearing on the song "Trini Dem Girls" from Nicki Minaj's 2014 album The Pinkprint. He also co-wrote Jessie J's single "Burnin' Up" from her album Sweet Talker, and Fifth Harmony's single "Bo$$" from the album Reflection. In 2015, he released his debut single as a solo artist, "Bills", which peaked at 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number one on the ARIA Charts.
Mr. Oizo (French: [məsˈjø waˈzo]; born 14 April 1974) is the stage name of French electronic musician and film director Quentin Dupieux. His pseudonym is a corruption of the French oiseau, meaning "bird". He is currently signed to Ed Banger Records and Brainfeeder.
Quentin Dupieux was born on 14 April 1974 in Paris. At the age of 12, he found a camera and started taking photographs. At 17, he began to play music to illustrate his images, and he bought his first synthesizer. In 1997, Laurent Garnier of the record label FCom bought a car from Mr. Oizo's father. Garnier then found out about Dupieux's talents and let him direct the music video for his song "Flashback". Later, Dupieux was signed to FCom, which he released his first EP, "#1".
Dupieux released "Flat Beat" in January 1999, a track consisting mainly of a repeated bass loop and a drum sample from "Put Your Love in My Tender Care" by The Fatback Band. In an interview with XLR8R magazine, Dupieux stated that it took him only two hours with a Korg MS-20 to produce. However, Flat Beat became a hit throughout Europe in 1999, becoming the best-known Mr. Oizo release. The track was featured in a series of Levi's jeans TV commercials, which featured a yellow puppet named Flat Eric nodding his head to the rhythm while riding in an old, beat-up car. Flat Eric was also featured in the song's music video. The Flat Beat EP has sold over three million copies. The song reached number 1 in the UK.
The Bomfunk MC's were a Finnish breakbeat hip hop group that was active between 1998 and 2005. The group's front man was the Finnish rapper B.O. Dubb (born Raymond Ebanks, and formerly known as "B.O.W."), and the main producer was Jaakko "JS16" Salovaara.
The band's debut release was the 1999 album In Stereo (Sony Music), which contained the singles "Freestyler", "Uprocking Beats", and "B-Boys & Flygirls", all of which were popular in England. "Uprocking Beats" reached the #1 position on the Finnish Dance charts. In Stereo sold over 600,000 units.
The album's success led to the release of "Freestyler" in Scandinavia and Germany; by 2000, "Freestyler" was popular throughout Europe, becoming the region's highest-selling single for that year. The single also reached the #1 position in Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, and Germany, and was #2 in the United Kingdom. However, the single led to a minor controversy: the line, "Who the fuck is Alice, is she from Buckingham Palace?", was censored for the UK radio version, and the video featured an intensive amount of product placement for the Sony company.
Mr Oizo "Flat beat" official video directed by Quentin Dupieux with Flat Eric - Shot in an old appartment few hundred meters away from Le Chateau de Versailles with the amazing puppet "Flat Eric" . The track itslef is like a UFO in Electronic Music. The song is originally the music of a advertisement campaign created by Quentin Dupieux for Levis-Staprest. FlatEric was in the ads. In 3 weeks, pushed by the success of the ads in Europe, FlatBeat turns as a N°1 hit in the key territories in Europe and sold close to 4 milllions CDs & 12".
