Where do we even begin? Kanye kept it real the entire time he was on Ellen. From talking about asking Mark Zuckerberg for money to #OscarsSoWhite, there wasn’t really anything that was off topic for the rapper at all. The interview got off to a pretty good start when Ellen brought up a joke that Kim made recently about whether or not Kanye should have a board of directors to run his Twitter to keep his social media rants at bay. The rapper laughed and joked a bit with Ellen, but things then started to get real when the hostess with the mostess asked Yeezy about the time he reached out to Mark Zuckerberg on Twitter to help him get out of his 53 million dollar debt. After that, Kanye launched into his poetic monologue and revealed that if he had more resources, he could help more people. He even said this. The rapper backed up his statement by saying he cared about people and that his parents, his dad who was a psych major in college and his mom, who was the first black female chair of the English department at Chicago State University, both raised him to make a difference in the world. ‘Ye then went on to talk about the Oscars So White controversy earlier this year and revealed that he didn’t take any of that as a joke. A one point during his rant, Yeezy made this observation about the human race. And went on to say that even though he’s talking about all of this on daytime television, he believes that he can make a difference by using the platform that he’s on to talk to the world. The rapper also talked about his creative musical process where he revealed he has a condition called synesthesia where he sees sounds and that QUOTE, “Everything I sonically make is a painting. I see it. I see the importance and the value of everyone being able to experience a more beautiful life.” Yeezus then ended his long monologue by saying that he wants to be the Michael Jackson of apparel in order to help out those who come after him. It started off with a story about how he was sitting with President Obama while and Leonardo DiCaprio is going on and on about the environment, Kanye recalled during that moment, he talked about clothes and everyone around him basically responded by saying that wasn’t an important issue as the environment. But obviously Kanye disagreed because he went on to say “I remember going to school in fifth grade and wanting to have a cool outfit. I want to take away bullying.” And whether you agree or not, making affordable, cool clothing for kids is one way to slowly stop bullying in schools. Kanye went on to credit MJ and Russell Simmons for paving the way for artists like him and said he wants to do the same for those in the fashion industry. And when he was done, the rapper apologized for being real and changing the format of the chat show. Well, Kanye did make some good points.
