Bangalore Days

Bangalore Days is an Indian Malayalam romantic-comedy drama film written and directed by Anjali Menon, and produced by Anwar Rasheed and Sophia Paul under the banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainment and Weekend Blockbusters. The film features an ensemble cast consisting of Nazriya Nazim, Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Isha Talwar, Parvathy and Nithya Menen in pivotal roles.

The plot revolves around three cousins from Kerala who move to Bangalore, continuing Menon's trend of films about family relationships. The film received positive reviews from critics and collected ₹8.5 crore (US$1.3 million) in its first week. Its final gross collection was about ₹48 crore (US$7.1 million), making it one of the highest grossing film in Malayalam. The remake rights of the film, for Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages, was jointly acquired by Dil Raju and PVP Cinemas.

The film received three Kerala State Film Awards including Best Actor and Best Actress awards for Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim respectively, and Best Screenplay for Anjali Menon.

Bangalore

Bangalore /bæŋɡəˈlɔːr/, officially known as Bengaluru ([ˈbeŋɡəɭuːɾu]), is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It has a population of about 8.42 million and a metropolitan population of about 8.52 million, making it the third most populous city and fifth most populous urban agglomeration in India. Located in southern India on the Deccan Plateau, at a height of over 900 m (3,000 ft) above sea level, Bangalore is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year. Its elevation is the highest among the major large cities of India.

A succession of South Indian dynasties, the Western Gangas, the Cholas and the Hoysalas, ruled the present region of Bangalore until in 1537 CE, Kempé Gowdā – a feudal ruler under the Vijayanagara Empire – established a mud fort considered to be the foundation of modern Bangalore. In 1638, the Marāthās conquered and ruled Bangalore for almost 50 years, after which the Mughals captured and sold the city to the Mysore Kingdom of the Wadiyar dynasty. It was captured by the British after victory in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War (1799), who returned administrative control of the city to the Maharaja of Mysore. The old city developed in the dominions of the Maharaja of Mysore and was made capital of the Princely State of Mysore, which existed as a nominally sovereign entity of the British Raj. In 1809, the British shifted their cantonment to Bangalore, outside the old city, and a town grew up around it, which was governed as part of British India. Following India's independence in 1947, Bangalore became the capital of Mysore State, and remained capital when the new Indian state of Karnataka was formed in 1956. The two urban settlements of Bangalore – city and cantonment – which had developed as independent entities merged into a single urban centre in 1949. The existing Kannada name, Bengalūru, was declared the official name of the city in 2006.

Gopi Sunder is a National Award winning Indian musician, film score composer, programmer and singer. He has composed music for more than 5000 advertisements, programmed music for many major composers and composed the music for nearly 50 Indian films to date.

He has composed the background score and songs for films like Flash (2007), Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded (2009), Anwar (2010), Ustad Hotel (2012), 1983 (2014). He has also done the background score for Notebook (2006), Big B (2007), Mission 90 Days (2007), Poi Solla Porom (2008), Evidam Swargamanu (2009), 1983 (2014), Bangalore Days (2014).

He got his first Filmfare Award for Best Music Director in the 58th Filmfare Awards South for Anwar (2010).

Sri Divya

Sri Divya is an Indian film and television actress, who acts in Tamil and Telugu films.

Early life

Sri Divya was born in Hyderabad, India. She has one sister, Sri Ramya, who also acts in Telugu and Tamil films. Sri Divya has studied in the Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Career

Sri Divya started her career at the age of three and has acted as a child artist in nearly ten Telugu films. She has also acted in Telugu television serials.

She made her debut as a heroine in the 2010 Telugu romance film Manasara, directed by Ravi Babu, but the film was a failure. Then she featured in the film Bus Stop (2012) directed by Maruthi, co-starring Prince, which was successful at the box office. It was followed by Mallela Theeram Lo Sirimalle Puvvu in which she played a lonely wife who falls in love with a writer. About her performance, The Hindu wrote, "she looks very charming; the cotton saris bring out the grace in her". Idlebrain.com wrote, "Sri Divya epitomizes the character of an idealistic and independent woman. She did well and deserves applause".

Asianet Movies

Asianet Movies is a 24-hour Malayalam TV channel from the Asianet Communications Limited launched on 15 July 2012. It is the first Malayalam satellite TV channel for movies. The channel started airing Tamil and Hindi movies on weekends as the parent Star Group owns the rights of films in other languages as well. A channel dedicated to movies in Malayalam launched very late when comparing to other southern languages even though most of the Keralites like to watch their favorite movies on television. Soon after its launch Sun TV also launched its movie channel by changing its music channel Kiran Tv to show only movies.

Thiruvananthapuram-based Asianet Communications Limited (ACL) is owned by STAR India. The footprint of the free-to-air channel which started test run on 1 July 2012 includes India, the Gulf and other countries in the region. In Kerala, the channel is available through all major cable TV operators including ACV and KeralaVision as well as on major DTH platforms. Asianet Movies will telecast not only Malayalam movies but also hit movies in Tamil and Hindi languages.
