A socialite is a person (usually from a privileged, wealthy, or aristocratic background), who has a largely known reputation and a high social position in upper class society. A socialite spends a significant amount of time participating in popular social activities and continually attends various social gatherings such as charity events, private parties, fashion shows, fine arts fundraisers, luncheons, festivals, and other exclusive events.
American members of the Establishment, or an American "society" based on birth, breeding, education, and economic standing, were originally listed in the Social Register, a directory of the names and addresses of the "preferred social contacts" of the prominent families in the 19th century. In 1886, Louis Keller started to consolidate these lists and package them for sale.
The concept of socialites dates to the 18th and 19th century. Most of the earliest socialites were wives or mistresses of royalty or nobility, but being a socialite was more a duty and a means of survival than a form of pleasure. Bashful queens were often forced to play gracious and wealthy hostess to people who despised them. Mistresses had to pay for their social reputation and had to use their social skills to obtain favor in the court and retain the interest of their lovers.
The South Zone (Portuguese: Zona Sul - Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈzonɐ ˈsuw]) is an area of the city of Rio de Janeiro situated between the Tijuca Massif, the Atlantic Ocean and Guanabara Bay. Most of it is made up of neighbourhoods along the Atlantic coastline, such as São Conrado, Vidigal, Leblon, Ipanema, Copacabana, and Leme.
It also includes the neighbourhoods of Urca, Botafogo, Flamengo and Glória, on Guanabara Bay, and Santa Teresa, Catete, Laranjeiras, Cosme Velho, Humaitá, Lagoa, Jardim Botânico and Gávea, bordering on Tijuca Forest to the West or North. Zona Sul oncludes a number of favelas, such as Rocinha, close to São Conrado, Vidigal, close to Leblon, Cantagalo and Ladeira dos Tabajaras, in Copacabana, and Morro Dona Marta, in Botafogo.
It is in this region that the majority of the city's famous balneario beaches and hotels are located, as are the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, much of the Tijuca National Park, the Sugarloaf Mountain, with its famous cablecar, the Corcovado hill, where the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer stands, and other natural wonders and tourist attractions. It is the richest region of the city and is visited by thousands of tourists from different parts of the world throughout the year.
A Fazenda (Portuguese pronunciation: [a fɐˈzẽdɐ], English: The Farm) is the current Brazilian version of the The Farm reality television show based on the Swedish television series of the same name that was originally created in 2001 by Strix and produced in association with Sony Entertainment and Endemol. The series premiered on May 31, 2009 on Rede Record.
The show is based on a group of celebrities living together twenty-four hours a day in a Farm (located in Itu, São Paulo, Brazil), isolated from the outside world (primarily from mass media, such as newspapers, telephones, television and the internet) while having all their steps followed by cameras around-the-clock, with no privacy for three months.
The contestants compete for the chance to win the grand prize by avoiding weekly eviction, until the last celebrity remains at the end of the season that can claim the grand prize.
The show is presented by news reporter Britto Junior alongside Chris Couto (from seasons 1–5) and Juliana Camargo (since season 6) and directed by Rodrigo Carelli. Since 2010, the subscription-based live feeds are available directly through R7.com. In order to preserve the drama for television broadcasts, Rede Record does not webcast certain moments that transpire in the house, including weekly competitions. Slanderous statements and singing of copyrighted music are also blocked for legal reasons.
Actors: Matthew Feeney (producer), Landyn Banx (actor), Jim Westcott (actor), Christopher Michael Beer (director), Christopher Michael Beer (producer), Christopher Michael Beer (editor), Christopher Michael Beer (writer), Nicole Kruex (actress), Michael Cook (actor), Heather Amos (actress), Janet Fogg (actress), Anne Westcott (actress), Kirsten Gregerson (actress), Derek Dirlam (actor), Nick Evert (producer),
Plot: The story is minimal; love lost, love regained, love destroyed. Our characters are Caleb and Rin. Caleb lives comfortably in his upper/middle class lifestyle as a columnist and blogger. Rin is a prominent student filmmaker in the gay community at his college. Their lives intertwine when Caleb's wife is killed in an accidental hit and run, and Caleb's only memory of the accident is a bumper sticker of a one legged bird. The two develop a relationship that opens up Caleb's world to a new meaning of love, but transcends into dangerous and destructive when he begins to suspect Rin had something to do with his accident. The film is told in four intertwining storylines, shot in four different film styles respectively; Melodrama, French New Wave, Mumblecore (or 'Indie'), and Documentary which will actually feature real interviews from notable members of Minnesota's GLBT community. FAUX takes place during America's current perceptions of sexuality; specifically, the gay rights movement. It will center on Minneapolis's own GLBT community, and shall offer insight as well as provoke thought. But as this is the focal point, it will also embody a broader philosophy, disseminating ideologies of narrative time and history, as well as cultural concepts of sexuality and 'humanism' in the modern American capital. The film aims to approach sexuality in cinema from a typically untouched agenda. This isn't a movie about gays, straights, blacks, whites, bad guys or good guys; this is a movie about people; this is a movie about human beings.

Plot: A young Russian boy, Thomas Minton, travels to New York as a passenger on a Russian freighter. Close to Ellis Island he gets off and thus starts his journey to America the same way as all immigrants in former times. Thomas is searching for the family of one of his ancestors, who had emigrated decades ago, but once sent a letter home together with a sample of his new profession: 3D-Photography. The boy follows his relative's traces by counter-checking the old 3D-Photographs of New York (using an antique viewer) with the same places and how they look today. This way, the audience gets to see the Big Apple in former times as well as today.

Plot: In the depths of the Depression, a party game brings dizzy socialite Irene Bullock to the city dump where she meets Godfrey, a derelict, and ends by hiring him as family butler. Soon, the dramatizing Irene is in love with her 'protege'...who feels strongly that a romance between servant and employer is out of place, regardless of that servant's mysterious past...

As well as looking at strange people through history, I'll be also presenting strange but true events that leave many questions unanswered. This is the true account of Blanche Monnier, who was imprisoned by her mother in an attic room in France in 1876. Blanche was having a clandestine affair with an unsuccessful lawyer... ...her mother vehemently disapproved. It is my intention to try and present Blanche as a real person, with hopes, love & aspirations...and not just some horrible image on a video thumbnail. Suffer my last days
Do I really gotta talk aloud?
Smiling between beats
you know you really hurt me now
you know I wanna please you
and socialize
you know I wanna see you
you socialite
Look at the first man
you ever really cared about
with someone you can't stand
you know you've got to get him out
you know I wanna please you
and socialize
you know I wanna see you
you socialite
Suffer the last stand
And light another cigarette
Laughing beneath me
You know you just got what you get
you know I wanna please you
and socialize
you know I wanna see you
you socialite
