From May 7 to 16, CTBUH Executive Director Antony Wood traveled to Dubai and Jeddah to explore the possibility of a 2018 Conference in the region. During the trip, he was invited to tour the under-construction Jeddah Tower. While touring the site, Wood had the unique experience of traveling to the top of the core, which currently sits at the 56th level about 250 meters in the air. Even greater still was his unforgettable trip back down to Earth from the top of the under-construction tower, an excursion undertaken via a materials container hoisted by a crane.

Idents visualize four different themes. To emphasize the emotion of each Ident, we have decided to use different textures of steel, wood and glass. Motion sculpture of steel reflects old Chinese adage that true power is mastering yourself. Youthful energy of dancers evolve into beautiful organic sculpture. Colorful happiness is the engine of father's and his daughter's joy. Two lovers visualize fragility and vitality of love in the last Ident.

Executive director
An executive director is a chief executive officer (CEO) or managing director of an organization, company, or corporation. The title is widely used in North American non-profit organizations, though many United States nonprofits have adopted the title president or CEO.
Confusion can arise because the words executive and director occur both in this title and in titles of various members of some organizations' boards of directors. The precise meanings of these terms are discussed in the board of directors article.
Role
The role of the executive director is to design, develop and implement strategic plans for the organization in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. The executive director is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization, which includes managing committees and staff as well as developing business plans in collaboration with the board. In essence, the board grants the executive director the authority to run the organization. The executive director is accountable to the chairman of the board of directors and reports to the board on a regular basis – quarterly, semiannually, or annually. The board may offer suggestions and ideas about how to improve the organization, but the executive director decides whether or not, and how, to implement these ideas.

Director's cut
A director's cut is an ordinary edited version of a film, and less often TV series, music video, commercials, comic book or video games, that is supposed to represent the director's own approved edit. 'Cut' explicitly refers to the process of film editing: the director's cut is preceded by the rough editor's cut and followed by the final cut meant for the public film release.
Director's cuts of film are not generally released to the public: with most film studios the director does not have a final cut privilege. The studio (whose investment is at risk) can insist on changes that they think will make the film profit more at the box office. This sometimes means a happier ending or less ambiguity, or excluding scenes that would earn a more audience-restricting rating, but more often means that the film is simply shortened to provide more screenings per day. The most common form of director's cut is therefore to have extra scenes added, often making the director's cut considerably longer than the final cut.

Executive producer
An executive producer (EP) enables the making of a commercial entertainment product. The EP may be concerned with management accounting and/or with associated legal issues (like copyrights or royalties). An EP generally contributes to the film's budget and may or may not work on set.
Motion pictures
In motion pictures, an executive producer oversees the filmmaking with regard to film finance. Executive producers liaise with the line producer and report to production companies and distributors.
Television
In television, an executive producer often supervises the creative content as well as the financial aspects of a production. Some writers (for example Stephen J. Cannell and Tina Fey) have been the creator and also the producer of the same TV show. Other dual roles may include the executive director(s) starring in the show they produce, such as Full Throttle Saloon reality TV star, Jesse James Dupree. Still other shows may have more than one executive producer working on a TV show where there can be one among them who outranks the others. This position is known as the "showrunner," or operational executive producer.

From May 7 to 16, CTBUH Executive Director Antony Wood traveled to Dubai and Jeddah to explore the possibility of a 2018 Conference in the region. During the trip, he was invited to tour the under-construction Jeddah Tower. While touring the site, Wood had the unique experience of traveling to the top of the core, which currently sits at the 56th level about 250 meters in the air. Even greater still was his unforgettable trip back down to Earth from the top of the under-construction tower, an excursion undertaken via a materials container hoisted by a crane.

Idents visualize four different themes. To emphasize the emotion of each Ident, we have decided to use different textures of steel, wood and glass. Motion sculpture of steel reflects old Chinese adage that true power is mastering yourself. Youthful energy of dancers evolve into beautiful organic sculpture. Colorful happiness is the engine of father's and his daughter's joy. Two lovers visualize fragility and vitality of love in the last Ident.

Mill+ teamed up with the YDA for the second year in a row to produce the dynamic 2013 Young Director's Awards titles.
The opening title sequence takes us on a journey through a world of imaginative shapes and silhouettes. Using the concept of a creative storm as a narrative device, we see the visuals finally erupt into a hurricane of spiralling motion.
Art director Antar Walker comments, "Using a combination of live action, 2D and 3D animation, we delve into the perspective of a young director as his mind is hit with a storm of creativity, ideas, colour and motion."
Executive producer Luke Colson said, "We are honoured to be associated with the YDA's once again and look forward to our next collaboration. This year's opening title film is something we are very proud of, a great piece of direction in it's own right. Thanks to Francois and all the team for allowing us such creative freedom."

CTBUH Executive Director Travels Down Jeddah Tower Via Crane
From May 7 to 16, CTBUH Executive Director Antony Wood traveled to Dubai and Jeddah to explore the possibility of a 2018 Conference in the region. During the trip, he was invited to tour the under-construction Jeddah Tower. While touring the site, Wood had the unique experience of traveling to the top of the core, which currently sits at the 56th level about 250 meters in the air. Even greater still was his unforgettable trip back down to Earth from the top of the under-construction tower, an excursion undertaken via a materials container hoisted by a crane.

While touring the site, Wood had the unique experience of traveling to the top of the core, which currently sits at the 56th level about 250 meters in the air. Even greater still was his unforgettable trip back down to Earth from the top of the under-construction tower, an excursion undertaken via a materials container hoisted by a crane.

Idents visualize four different themes. To emphasize the emotion of each Ident, we have decided to use different textures of steel, wood and glass. Motion sculpture of steel reflects old Chinese adage that true power is mastering yourself. Youthful energy of dancers evolve into beautiful organic sculpture. Colorful happiness is the engine of father's and his daughter's joy. Two lovers visualize fragility and vitality of love in the last Ident.

Mill+ teamed up with the YDA for the second year in a row to produce the dynamic 2013 Young Director's Awards titles.
The opening title sequence takes us on a journey through a world of imaginative shapes and silhouettes. Using the concept of a creative storm as a narrative device, we see the visuals finally erupt into a hurricane of spiralling motion.
Art director Antar Walker comments, "Using a combination of live action, 2D and 3D animation, we delve into the perspective of a young director as his mind is hit with a storm of creativity, ideas, colour and motion."
Executive producer Luke Colson said, "We are honoured to be associated with the YDA's once again and look forward to our next collaboration. This year's opening title film is something we are very proud of, a great piece of direction in it's own right. Thanks to Francois and all the team for allowing us such creative freedom."
