This is one of the first appearances of Bernie Mac on Def Comedy Jam and he is side-splittingly funny! Obviously his standup is a far cry away from The Bernie Mac Show that the rest of the world knew him for but you can still see his great comedic timing, originality and sharp wit in this rare footage.
The original music was dubbed over with default music due to copyrights which actually took away from Bernie's performance since the DJ was Kid Capri, but it's still hilarious nonetheless. The reason Bernie was reiterating how unscared he was of the crowd was because of Def Comedy Jam's notorious reputation of booing comedians off the stage if they didn't like them. However, Bernie was more than prepared and rocked the crowd that night!

After pulling pranks on the public, Kevin finally gets his... when he dresses as a white ghost in Compton.
Roman and Dennis from RomanAtwoodPranks wanted to scare the hell out of Kevin. So they came up to Break with the perfect idea: Let's have one of Kevin's pranks go bad - using some hired help. So we hired three actors, and one bodyguard to play along as they take Kevin on the scare of his life. This was all 100% real. We assure you, Kevin thought he was going to die. The relief on his face afterwards could not be faked.
To those pointing out that Roman's pants change colors, this is indeed because we were forced to shoot a pick-up to include with the original footage shot.

Harlem

Harlem is a large neighborhood in the northern section of the New York City borough of Manhattan. Since the 1920s, Harlem has been known as a major African-American residential, cultural and business center. Originally a Dutch village, formally organized in 1658, it is named after the city of Haarlem in the Netherlands. Harlem's history has been defined by a series of economic boom-and-bust cycles, with significant population shifts accompanying each cycle.
African-American residents began to arrive en masse in 1905, with numbers fed by the Great Migration. In the 1920s and 1930s, Central and West Harlem were the focus of the "Harlem Renaissance", an outpouring of artistic work without precedent in the American black community. However, with job losses in the time of the Great Depression and the deindustrialization of New York City after World War II, rates of crime and poverty increased significantly. Harlem's black population peaked in the 1950s. In 2008, the United States Census found that for the first time since the 1930s, less than half of residents were black, and black residents only counted for 40% of the population.

Bernie Mac
Bernard Jeffrey "Bernie" McCullough (October 5, 1957 – August 9, 2008) better known by his stage name Bernie Mac, was an American stand-up comedian, actor and voice artist. Born and raised on Chicago's south side, Mac gained popularity as a stand-up comedian. He joined comedians Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, and D. L. Hughley in The Original Kings of Comedy.
After briefly hosting the HBO show Midnight Mac, Mac appeared in several films in smaller roles. His most noted film role was as Frank Catton in the remake Ocean's Eleven and the titular character of Mr. 3000. He was the star of The Bernie Mac Show, which ran from 2001 through 2006, earning him two Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Mac's other films included starring roles in Booty Call, Friday, The Players Club, In Living Color, Head of State, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Bad Santa, Guess Who, Pride, Soul Men, Transformers and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.
Mac suffered from sarcoidosis. His death on August 9, 2008 was caused by complications from pneumonia.

Steve Harvey
Broderick Stephen "Steve" Harvey (born January 17, 1957) is an American comedian, television host, radio personality, actor, and author. He hosts The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Steve Harvey (the talk show), and Family Feud. He is the author of Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, which was published in March 2009, and the book Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to Find and Keep a Man.
Harvey previously hosted Showtime at the Apollo, starred in The Steve Harvey Show, and was featured in The Original Kings of Comedy. He is a three-time Daytime Emmy Award winner, and a 13-time NAACP Image Award winner in various categories.
Early life
Harvey was born on January 17, 1957 in Welch, West Virginia, the son of Jesse Harvey, a coal miner, and his wife Eloise Vera. His first name is Broderick, named after actor Broderick Crawford of the TV series Highway Patrol. Harvey's family moved to Cleveland, Ohio, living on East 112th Street, which would eventually receive the honorary name Steve Harvey Way in 2015. He graduated from Glenville High School in 1974. Shortly after high school, he attended Kent State University and West Virginia University and is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity. He has been a boxer, an autoworker, an insurance salesman, a carpet cleaner, and a mailman.

This is one of the first appearances of Bernie Mac on Def Comedy Jam and he is side-splittingly funny! Obviously his standup is a far cry away from The Bernie Mac Show that the rest of the world knew him for but you can still see his great comedic timing, originality and sharp wit in this rare footage. The original music was dubbed over with default music due to copyrights which actually took away from Bernie's performance since the DJ was Kid Capri, but it's still hilarious nonetheless. The reason Bernie was reiterating how unscared he was of the crowd was because of Def Comedy Jam's notorious reputation of booing comedians off the stage if they didn't like them. However, Bernie was more than prepared and rocked the crowd that night!

Roman and Dennis from RomanAtwoodPranks wanted to scare the hell out of Kevin. So they came up to Break with the perfect idea: Let's have one of Kevin's pranks go bad - using some hired help. So we hired three actors, and one bodyguard to play along as they take Kevin on the scare of his life. This was all 100% real. We assure you, Kevin thought he was going to die. The relief on his face afterwards could not be faked.

Harlem History:
Harlem was originally a Dutch village founded around 1658. It was named after the city of Haarlem in the Netherlands. In the early 20th century many African Americans moved to this area and in the 1920s and 30s many famous artists, musicians and businessmen became well known in Harlem and took Black culture to a higher level, in a movement known as the Harlem Renaissance.
The Studio Museum of Harlem -- 124 West 125th Street
At The Studio Museum of Harlem, there is more about black history including guided tours, readings and exhibitions of African American art and culture. There is a suggested donation for entry.
The Apollo Theater - 253 West 125th Street
The Apollo Theater is one of the most famous and historic music hall in the U.S. This famous club is almost exclusively associated with African American music and performance. During the Harlem Renaissance and specifically in 1934, the Apollo Theater introduced its regular Amateur Night shows, during which many new stars were born and legends were made. In fact the Apollo launched the careers of famous artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, James Brown, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Mariah Carey...just to name a few. During amateur night, the audience would clap to approve the performers they liked and "boo" the performers they weren't too excited about. At that point an "executioner", a man with a broom, would sweep the bad performers off the stage. Even today, every Wednesday is Amateur Night at the Apollo.

Shopping in Harlem -- 125th Street
125th Street runs from east to west and is considered the Main Street of Harlem. Since 2001 many sections of the street have been developed with new stores, such as Old Navy, H&M;, Starbucks Coffee and the famous Magic Johnson Theaters, a chain of movie theaters, developed by the famous African American basketball player, Magic Johnson. So you can definitely spend a fun day.

Shopping in Harlem -- 125th Street
125th Street runs from east to west and is considered the Main Street of Harlem. Since 2001 many sections of the street have been developed with new stores, such as Old Navy, H&M;, Starbucks Coffee and the famous Magic Johnson Theaters, a chain of movie theaters, developed by the famous African American basketball player, Magic Johnson. So you can definitely spend a fun day.

If you are planning a trip to New York, you should definitely consider Harlem as a home base. It's just a short subway ride away from midtown and downtown Manhattan and furnished apartment rentals are generally less expensive in Harlem than other areas of Manhattan. Here are some Things to do in NYC :) This 1st of a "Things to do in NYC" is the BASICS. I will do more in depth videos on neighborhoods like Harlem, Brooklyn, Lower East Side which will include shopping, entertainment, eating, all that :) But for now I hope you find this helpful and excited about exploring NYC. I didn't "forget" to list anything. This is just the first video and trust their are a million things to do. Sorry for not including Brooklyn. Summer in NYC isn't really summer until you get your butt on a rooftop. My pick was Jimmy Rooftop. Sunday's after 3pm are bomb! Amazing music courtesy of DJ Cato. I believe it is doorman discretion, which means, dress your best and don't travel with a bunch of dudes. You get an amazing view of the sun setting over the Hudson River and you get to splash around in the pool if you so choose. I chose this spot because I used to work here and loved it!

Yes! Go to Church! After you party it up Saturday night or Sunday afternoon bring your sinful behind to this awesome church! You don't have to be religious to attend. This is a non-denominal church and people from all over the world come here for the amazing sermons and not to mention the interior. This Church is a converted theatre and a must see. Now go and pray!

Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town.
You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface.
And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. This is just a short video I put together of East River Plaza shopping mall in Harlem, New York City, to help anyone who's going there for the first time.
East River Plaza is located at 116th St. next to the FDR Expressway which sits along the East River on the East Side of Manhattan. So it's easily accessible (depending on traffic volume) from just about anywhere in New York City's boroughs.
There's plenty of parking and there's also an inexpensive car service you can hire if you don't have your own vehicle. The First Avenue and Second Avenue bus lines are just a few blocks away, and it's not hard to get a taxi.
If you come in your own car, be aware that you have to pay at any one of a number of bright yellow kiosks set up outside and inside the parking lot. Make sure you take advantage of one of these, and also make sure you get a ticket when you pay - not just a receipt. The ticket works in the automatic gate at the exit. The receipt does not. You'' wind up paying the full day rate if you don't have a ticket - AND you'll hold up traffic behind you while you're figuring out what's wrong. You'll find that the New Yorkers in the cars behind you will not be happy, and will say so.
The area is very safe.
