Widen is the creator of Highlander, writer of the original unused script, "Shadow Clan." The Kurgan was referred to as "The Knight" in Shadow Clan and is described by Widen as a much more "serious" and sympathetic villain who was not obsessed with the Prize or power. Christopher Walken returns as the guerrilla angel Gabriel, the leader of an evil heavenly revolution in which bad angels seek to upset the heavenly hierarchy by destroying humanity and all good angels -- because Gabriel believes God favors mortals. This time, Gabriel has been spit from the bowels of Hell, where even Lucifer tired of the chaos he created. He is stalking the L.A. streets in hopes of finishing his bloody war by murdering the second incarnation of Christ, who is gestating within the womb of nurse Jennifer Beals. Protecting her is the angel Danyael (Russell Wong). As Gabriel is not literate in late-20th-century technology, he enlists the assistance of Izzy (Brittany Murphy), a depressive teen whom he saves from suicide.

Gregory Widen
Gregory Widen is an American screenwriter and film director.
A student in UCLA's screenwriting program, he sold his script for Highlander while still an undergraduate. Before entering the UCLA program, Widen attended Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California.
Widen worked as a firefighter for three years. He witnessed a person killed by an explosive backdraft, which became the basis for the screenplay for the movie Backdraft.
In 1995 he wrote and directed the supernatural thriller The Prophecy starring Christopher Walken.

The Prophecy
The Prophecy is a 1995 American fantasy horror-thriller film starring Christopher Walken, Elias Koteas, Virginia Madsen, Eric Stoltz, and Viggo Mortensen. It was written and directed by Gregory Widen, and is the first motion picture of The Prophecy series including four sequels. The film tells the story of the Archangel Gabriel (Walken) and his search for an evil soul on Earth, and a police detective (Koteas) who unknowingly becomes caught in the middle of an angelic civil war.
Plot
Thomas Dagget, a seminary student, loses his faith when he is shown disturbing visions of a war between angels. Years later, Thomas is a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department. Two angels fall to Earth: one, Simon, warns Thomas of coming events, before disappearing. The second, Uziel, dies attempting to kill Simon. Investigating the disturbance, Thomas finds an obituary in Simon's apartment for a recently deceased Korean War veteran named Arnold Hawthorne and a theology text he wrote. In Chimney Rock, Arizona, Simon finds the veteran and removes the soul from the body.

Clancy Brown
Clarence J. "Clancy" Brown III (born January 5, 1959) is an American actor and voice artist known for his roles as The Kurgan in the fantasy film Highlander, Captain Byron Hadley in prison drama film The Shawshank Redemption and Brother Justin Crowe in the television series Carnivàle. Brown has also provided his voice to many films, television series, and video games, including Lex Luthor in various media, Doctor Neo Cortex in the Crash Bandicoot video game series, and Mr. Krabs in the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants.
Early life
Brown was born in 1959 in Urbana, Ohio, and had an older sister, Beth (c.1957–1964). Their mother, Joyce (née Eldridge), was a conductor, composer, and concert pianist. Their father, Clarence J. "Bud" Brown, Jr., helped manage the Brown Publishing Company, the family-owned newspaper business started by Clancy's grandfather, Congressman Clarence J. Brown. From 1965 to 1983, Bud Brown also served as a U.S. Congressman, and later as chairman of the board of Brown Publishing. The family operated the business until 2010.

Charter schools in the United States
Charter schools in the United States offer primary or secondary education without charge to pupils who take state-mandated exams. These charter schools are subject to fewer rules, regulations, and statutes than traditional state schools, but receive less public funding than public schools, typically a fixed amount per pupil. There are both non-profit and for-profit charter schools, and only non-profit charters can receive donations from private sources.
The number of American charter schools has grown from 500 in 16 states and the District of Columbia to an estimated 6,400 in 2013-14. Over 600 new public charter schools (7%) opened, serving an additional 288,000 students (13%), totaling 2.5 million students. By contrast, some 200 schools closed, for reasons including low enrollment, financial concerns and low academic performance. Waiting lists grew from an average of 233 in 2009 to 277 in 2012, with places allocated by lottery. They educate the majority of children in New Orleans Public Schools. Charter schools may provide a specialized curriculum (for example in arts, mathematics, or vocational training), however others aim to provide a better and more cost-efficient general education than nearby non-charter public schools. Charter schools are attended by choice.

Christopher Walken returns as the guerrilla angel Gabriel, the leader of an evil heavenly revolution in which bad angels seek to upset the heavenly hierarchy by destroying humanity and all good angels -- because Gabriel believes God favors mortals. This time, Gabriel has been spit from the bowels of Hell, where even Lucifer tired of the chaos he created. He is stalking the L.A. streets in hopes of finishing his bloody war by murdering the second incarnation of Christ, who is gestating within the womb of nurse Jennifer Beals. Protecting her is the angel Danyael (Russell Wong). As Gabriel is not literate in late-20th-century technology, he enlists the assistance of Izzy (Brittany Murphy), a depressive teen whom he saves from suicide.

One of Universal Bluford Charter Schools' central goals is enriching the community through the provision of resources and viable community partnerships.
Throughout his career, Gregory has entertained adult audiences across the spectrum. Yet, this performance was for the most unlikely audience of his career: a group of 5th graders, who had studied about him as a class assignment.
One the last living leaders of the movement during the Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. era, Gregory spoke with students about the history of the Civil rights movement, and also participated in the school's activities around the 16th Annual Read Across America Day.
Dick Gregory is a comedian and activist who became well known for his biting brand of comedy that attacked racial prejudice. Dick Gregory was arrested for civil disobedience several times, and his activism spurred him to run for mayor of Chicago in 1966 and for president in 1968. In the early 1970s Gregory abandoned comedy to focus on his political interests, which widened from race relations to include such issues as violence, world hunger, capital punishment, drug abuse and poor health care.
Universal Bluford Charter School (UBCS) is one of 6 schools, in Philadelphia, run by Universal Companies, a not-for-profit "Community Development and Community Management Corporation", formed under the efforts and direction of one of Philadelphia's greatest talents, Mr. Kenneth Gamble, world-renowned musical writer, composer, producer and founder and CEO of Philadelphia International Records.
Universal Companies is under the leadership of Rahim Islam, and Dr. Kia Johnson is Principal of Universal Bluford Charter School

Gregory Widen on the Kurgan and Clancy Brown
Widen is the creator of Highlander, writer of the original unused script, "Shadow Clan." The Kurgan was referred to as "The Knight" in Shadow Clan and is described by Widen as a much more "serious" and sympathetic villain who was not obsessed with the Prize or power. The angel Gabriel (Christopher Walken) asks a suicidal teen named Izzy (Brittany Murphy) to help him on his quest.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Christopher Walken returns as the guerrilla angel Gabriel, the leader of an evil heavenly revolution in which bad angels seek to upset the heavenly hierarchy by destroying humanity and all good angels -- because Gabriel believes God favors mortals. This time, Gabriel has been spit from the bowels of Hell, where even Lucifer tired of the chaos he created. He is stalking the L.A. streets in hopes of finishing his bloody war by murdering the second incarnation of Christ, who is gestating within the womb of nurse Jennifer Beals. Protecting her is the angel Danyael (Russell Wong). As Gabriel is not literate in late-20th-century technology, he enlists the assistance of Izzy (Brittany Murphy), a depressive teen whom he saves from suicide.

Universal Bluford Charter School (UBCS), located at 5720 Media Street is a community enriched educational institution serving West Philadelphia students in grades K through 6th. One of Universal Bluford Charter Schools' central goals is enriching the community through the provision of resources and viable community partnerships.
Throughout his career, Gregory has entertained adult audiences across the spectrum. Yet, this performance was for the most unlikely audience of his career: a group of 5th graders, who had studied about him as a class assignment.
One the last living leaders of the movement during the Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. era, Gregory spoke with students about the history of the Civil rights movement, and also participated in the school's activities around the 16th Annual Read Across America Day.
Dick Gregory is a comedian and activist who became well known for his biting brand of comedy that attacked racial prejudice. Dick Gregory was arrested for civil disobedience several times, and his activism spurred him to run for mayor of Chicago in 1966 and for president in 1968. In the early 1970s Gregory abandoned comedy to focus on his political interests, which widened from race relations to include such issues as violence, world hunger, capital punishment, drug abuse and poor health care.
Universal Bluford Charter School (UBCS) is one of 6 schools, in Philadelphia, run by Universal Companies, a not-for-profit "Community Development and Community Management Corporation", formed under the efforts and direction of one of Philadelphia's greatest talents, Mr. Kenneth Gamble, world-renowned musical writer, composer, producer and founder and CEO of Philadelphia International Records.
Universal Companies is under the leadership of Rahim Islam, and Dr. Kia Johnson is Principal of Universal Bluford Charter School
