Marty Jones (born 26 September 1945) is a retired English professional wrestler best known for his work in Joint Promotions and All Star Wrestling throughout the 1980s and 1990s. During this period, he was the predominant holder of the Mountevans World Mid Heavyweight title. Jones was also responsible for training Darren Matthews. Jones was trained by Billy Robinson.
Jones made his wrestling debut in 1972 as an 18-year-old. He won his first singles championship on 8 November 1982 by defeating Bobby Gaetano for the World Mid-Heavyweight Championship left vacant by the death of Mike Marino the previous year. His semifinal opponent in the tournament was a young Bret Hart. Jones would go on to win this title several times trading it back and forth with Dave "Fit" Finlay on several occasions. Jones also held the British Commonwealth tag team titles with a young Steve Wright in the late-1970s.
During the early 1980s Jones also wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling. He faced Tiger Mask on 8 October 1982 and also participated in two tag team matches alongside well-known international names in early 1983. In one Jones teamed with The Masked Superstar against Antonio Inoki and Tatsumi Fujinami and the other saw him team with Rusher Kimura against Hulk Hogan and Inoki. Jones also partnered with André the Giant in a further bout.

He is currently signed to WWE, where he works backstage under the ring name Fit Finlay. He is perhaps best known for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He has held over 20 championships around the world throughout his career, including the WCW World Television Championship and the WWE United States Championship.
Finlay's first match was for his father's promotion in Glynn in 1974, when he filled in for a wrestler who no-showed. He began wrestling on a full-time basis in Carrickfergus and throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland for the next four years before moving to England in 1978. In England, he wrestled for various companies under the Joint Promotions banner. Finlay defeated Alan Kilby on June 9, 1982 to win his first title, the Joint Promotions British Heavy Middleweight Championship. At this time, Finlay's then-wife, Princess Paula became his manager.

Plot: Gangster Alexander Ward, his girl friend, Gypsy Boulet, and two henchmen come to Deadwood, South Dakota with the idea of stealing a few gold bars. They enlist the aid of a local ski instructor, Gil Jackson, and plan to use him as a guide out of the territory after the robbery. However, a blizzard forces them to take refuge in Jackson's cabin, where Gypsy lowers the inside temperature by giving the cold shoulder to Ward, her former sweetie until she saw Jackson. Ward don't care, as he plans to kill Jackson after they have no further use of him. But they had used an explosion in a cave to serve as a distraction during the heist, and this explosion had irritated the big spider that lived there and, sure enough, all hands have to seek refuge in the cave from the fury of the storm. All but two of them would have been better off facing the South Dakota elements.

Broadcast January 1982. Poor sound quality unfortunately. I once went to a stag weekend dressed as Bret Hart in his WWF gear. I got through customs at Milan airport without them asking me to take the shades or wig off which I thought was odd.
