Rich Aucoin
Rich Aucoin is a Canadian indie rock musician, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is the younger brother of Paul Aucoin of Hylozoists. He performs and records both as a solo artist and as a collaborator and guest musician in Hylozoists.
History
Aucoin released his first EP, Personal Publication, in 2007. The album was designed as an alternative soundtrack to How the Grinch Stole Christmas. He supported the release by undertaking a cross-Canada tour traveled entirely by bicycle, to raise money for Childhood Cancer Canada; when that tour was completed, he went on another tour with Hylozoists, but subsequently faced a health crisis when his sudden shift from regular exercise during the bicycle tour to virtually no exercise at all during the Hylozoists tour triggered an iron deficiency. After recuperating, he undertook another solo tour, running partial marathons between stops to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society.
During both tours, he also recorded material across Canada with a wide variety of musicians, friends and fans for what would become his debut full-length album, 2011's We're All Dying to Live; in total, the album features over 500 guest musicians, including Jay Ferguson of Sloan, Becky Ninkovic of You Say Party, Michael Small of The Meligrove Band, and Rae Spoon. The album's release party, held at the 2011 Halifax Pop Explosion festival, featured over 80 musicians onstage.

Ring-imaging Cherenkov detector
The ring-imaging Cherenkov, or RICH, detector is a device for identifying the type of an electrically charged subatomic particle of known momentum, that traverses a transparent refractive medium, by measurement of the presence and characteristics of the Cherenkov radiation emitted during that traversal. RICH detectors were first developed in the 1980s and are used in high energy elementary particle- , nuclear- and astro-physics experiments.
This article outlines the origins and principles of the RICH detector, with brief examples of its different forms in modern physics experiments.
Ring-imaging Cherenkov (RICH) detector
Origins
The ring-imaging detection technique was first proposed by Jacques Séguinot and Tom Ypsilantis, working at CERN in 1977. Their research and development, of high precision single-photon detectors and related optics, lay the foundations for the design and construction of the first large-scale Particle Physics RICH detectors, at CERN's OMEGA facility and LEP (Large Electron–Positron Collider) DELPHI experiment.

Muertos Vivos
Muertos Vivos is Gob's fifth studio album. It was released October 23, 2007 in Canada, November 27, 2007 in the United States and December 5, 2007 in Japan. It is the only album featuring bassist Tyson Maiko, who left the band in 2008.
The album's title is Spanish for "living dead". The first single from the album was "We're All Dying", which got its first radio play on June 18, 2007. The second single, "Underground", was first played on The Fox Vancouver, 99.3. The third single was "Banshee Song", released in 2009.
A song frontman Tom Thacker has originally written for this album, entitled "Panic Attack", has become the title track from Sum 41's fifth studio album Screaming Bloody Murder, which was the band's first album to be recorded with Thacker as lead guitarist.
The album cover art is a reprint of Calavera Oaxaqueña by Mexican folk artist José Guadalupe Posada

When I sat down with Canada’s resident electronic party-maker Rich Aucoin backstage at Vancouver’s Media Club, he told me he'd just been to the University of British Columbia’s Museum of Anthropology. “I just like to keep learning,” he told me. In fact, Rich visits the big museums in every city he hits while on tour.
As I watched Rich set up his trademark parachute for his show, my mind was flooded with questions. Does he really give out his cell number to the audience at the end of each show? Did 500 musicians really work on his record? How did he end up as Girl Talk‘s hype man one night? His music is so uplifting, does he in fact bleed rainbows? I get to the bottom of everything!

A Second Baby Has Been Born Via Uterus Transplant in the U.S.

A second woman in the U.S. born without a uterus has given birth to a baby, thanks to a uterus transplant. The birth took place at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, a part of Baylor Scott & White, which performed the first birth via uterus transplant late last year.
