Moto X4 now expected to launch sometime in Q4, 2017: Report
The Moto X4 is a part of Motorola’s plans to launch nine smartphones this year.
Motorola‘s Moto X4 was scheduled to launch in June, which clearly did not happen. According to reports, the delay in launch could be due to Qualcomm failing to supply enough Snapdragon 660 SoCs. If a new report is to be believed, the wait for the Moto X4 is likely to get longer, as the launch will happen sometime in the fourth quarter of the year. The company has not yet officially confirmed any rumors as of now.
According to Venturebeat, the Moto X4 smartphone features a 5.2-inch screen with full HD display resolution, Snapdragon 660 SoC or an octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz. The chipset will be paired with 4GB of RAM along with an inbuilt storage of 64GB. There are no details available on the expandable storage as yet. Motorola hasn’t announced anything officially as yet; therefore it is advised that this information be taken with a grain of salt.
In terms of pricing, the smartphone is anticipated to be a mid-range player with the price expected to be between Rs 17,999 and Rs 20,999. From what we know so far, the Moto X4 could come with a glass design, instead of a metal body. The smartphone is also highly tipped to feature a dual-camera setup, which would be a first for Motorola. Reports suggest that the smartphone will sport an 8-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual rear camera sensors while on the front there will be a 16-megapixel selfie snapper. It is not clear if Motorola will go for an RGB + monochrome sensor combination, or go for a standard + telephoto lens combination. Apart from the Moto X4, the company is also planning to launch the Moto G5S Plus and Moto G5S smartphones. While nothing much is known about the Moto G5s, leaks from the past suggest that the Moto G5S Plus is expected to come with a 5.5-inch HD display, and will most likely come with an octa-core Snapdragon 626 processor. Other expected features include 3,068mAh battery, dual camera setup, and it is expected to be priced in the Rs 18,999 to Rs 19,999 bracket.
