Friesen sind schön, stark und sie haben diesen gewissen Adel ansich, der ihnen, wo immer sie auch auftauchen, bewundernde Blicke garantiert. Die Geschichte der alten Rasse kannte jedoch Höhen und Tiefen. Viele Jahrhunderte lange wurde in der Region um Friesland, in den Niederlanden ein kräftiges Kaltblutpferd gezüchtet. Knochenfunde lassen darauf schließen dass es sich dabei um einen sehr ursprünglichen nacheiszeitlichen Pferdetyp handelte. Vorallem in der Landwirtschaft kamen diese Kaltblüter zum Einsatz doch bereits im Barock kam es zu ersten erfolgreichen Veredelungsversuchen. Damals waren spanische Pferde groß in Mode und so wurde auch die Pferdezucht Frieslands stark von spanischen Hengsten beeinflusst. Bis heute sieht man den Friesen das spanische Blut an und sie stehen noch immer deutlich im Typ barocker Pferderassen.

Kraftvoll und erhaben umkreisten die stolzen Friesen die Tänzer in der Arena. Im perfekten Einklang mit der packenden Musik wollten sie als düstere Raben der verlorenen Spiegelscherbe habhaft werden. Anmutig präsentierten die vier Hengste eine unvergessliche Dressurquadrille und zeigten damit einmal mehr, warum die Friesen zu den absoluten Lieblingen der Show gehören.
Bereits seit 12 Jahren sind die Nordlichter fester Bestandteil der beliebtesten Pferdeshow und runden mit ihren einmaligen Auftritten jede Show auf ganz besondere Weise ab.
Im Interview berichtet Petra Geschonneck, die Chefin des Friesenteams, wie viel Arbeit in der spektakulären Szene steckt. Selten war das Zusammenspiel zwischen Pferden und Tänzern bei APASSIONATA so perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt. In engen Kreisen umrundetenn die Friesen die vier Tänzer, die in ihren düsteren Kostümen eindrucksvolle Choreografien präsentieren. Ganz behutsam wurden die Tiere zunächst an die Trampoline, später an die Kostüme und schließlich an die springenden Tänzer gewöhnt. Was für den Zuschauer auf den ersten Blick kaum sichtbar ist, erforderte in der Vorbereitung viel Geduld, Zuneigung und Vertrauen auf allen Seiten. Doch schnell sind Tiere und Menschen zu einem sensationellen Team zusammen gewachsen. Auch Mariette Wassibauer, Pferdechefin bei APASSIONATA, schwärmt von dem tollen Zusammenspiel von Kostümen, Musik und den imposanten Friesen – Gänsehaut pur bei APASSIONATA!

This bit was taped at the Agua Caliente Casino Theater in Palm Springs. I usually try and hold out for tapes that have better production values (the lighting got all washed out on this one,) but it was such a fun show that I felt like I had to post it. It's gotten my best response so far....... Of all the bits that I've written in the last few years, this is the one that I live out in slow-motion frustration every single day.

Im Interview berichtet Petra Geschonneck, die Chefin des Friesenteams, wie viel Arbeit in der spektakulären Szene steckt. Selten war das Zusammenspiel zwischen Pferden und Tänzern bei APASSIONATA so perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt. In engen Kreisen umrundetenn die Friesen die vier Tänzer, die in ihren düsteren Kostümen eindrucksvolle Choreografien präsentieren. Ganz behutsam wurden die Tiere zunächst an die Trampoline, später an die Kostüme und schließlich an die springenden Tänzer gewöhnt.
