Plateau
In geology and earth science, a plateau (/pləˈtoʊ/ or /ˈplætoʊ/; plural plateaus or plateaux), also called a high plain or tableland, is an area of highland, usually consisting of relatively flat terrain that is raised significantly above the surrounding area, often with one or more sides with steep slopes.
Formation
Plateaus can be formed by a number of processes, including upwelling of volcanic magma, extrusion of lava, and erosion by water and glaciers. Magma rises from the mantle causing the ground to swell upward, in really large, flat areas of rock that are uplifted. Plateaus can also be built up by lava spreading outward from cracks and weak areas in the crust. Plateaus can also be formed by the erosional processes of glaciers on mountain ranges, leaving them sitting between the mountain ranges. Water can also erode mountains and other landforms down into plateaus. Computer modeling studies suggest that high plateaus may also be partially a result from the feedback between tectonic deformation and dry climatic conditions created at the lee side of growing orogens.

Many people don't understand why some choose to travel on a bicycle. I was one of them... then I tried it. Now I don't want to do it any other way. A 24 days long cycling journey along some of the most remote regions of the Tibetan plateau. Some of the roads, trails and paths of this journey are not even shown in the most detailed maps of the region. I spent the last 9 days alone and since the camera wasn't mine, I was only able to finish the video with a series of photos I took.

This video is an attempt at providing a glimpse into the challenging, exciting, and incredibly rewarding world of cycle touring.
The clips are from a Summer 2007 trip, about 4500kms from Kashgar, Xinjiang, to Dali, Yunnan (in China) crossing Tibet along the way.

Random people at over 65+ locations and a handful of friends were used as rappers throughout the video.
The video was done completely practical (no CGI) and wound up costing a little under $80.

Notre Printemps est une fiction. Nous sommes à la fin des années 70 en Bourgogne. Nous suivons deux ans de la vie d’un couple, traversés successivement par la naissance, la maladie et la mort. Hélène, la femme, se souvient.
Notre Printemps, c’est l’histoire de la jeunesse fauchée par la maladie. C’est la beauté, l’amour, la vie heureuse brutalement interrompus par le drame, la tragédie. Nous voulons travailler sur cette opposition : raconter une disparition dans un halo de clarté, un chemin de mort qui se dévoile sur la scène comme un chemin de lumière.
La confrontation sur scène du théâtre et du cinéma vient alors provoquer un trouble, une confusion entre réel et fantasme, présent et passé, évènements concrets “en train de se produire” et souvenirs, rêves, projections, invocations morbides.

After Herero and German settlements, the rich Waterberg fauna was deprived from some of its most emblematic mammals. Relocation programs starting in the 70’s, which had the Caprivi Region as main source, brought back emblematic species that today, together with the Cheetah, coexist in relative harmony with the local farmers.

Notre Printemps est une fiction. Nous sommes à la fin des années 70 en Bourgogne. Nous suivons deux ans de la vie d’un couple, traversés successivement par la naissance, la maladie et la mort. Hélène, la femme, se souvient.
Notre Printemps, c’est l’histoire de la jeunesse fauchée par la maladie. C’est la beauté, l’amour, la vie heureuse brutalement interrompus par le drame, la tragédie. Nous voulons travailler sur cette opposition : raconter une disparition dans un halo de clarté, un chemin de mort qui se dévoile sur la scène comme un chemin de lumière.
La confrontation sur scène du théâtre et du cinéma vient alors provoquer un trouble, une confusion entre réel et fantasme, présent et passé, évènements concrets “en train de se produire” et souvenirs, rêves, projections, invocations morbides.
Avec Notre Printemps, Das Plateau continue sa recherche d’un théâtre de l’âme, d’un réel perçu et retravaillé par l’esprit humain et par la psyché.

Just like ”The Lost World” described by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the Waterberg Plateau with its green subtropical dry woodland stretches 200m above the surrounding Namibian plains. After Herero and German settlements, the rich Waterberg fauna was deprived from some of its most emblematic mammals. Relocation programs starting in the 70’s, which had the Caprivi Region as main source, brought back emblematic species that today, together with the Cheetah, coexist in relative harmony with the local farmers. A 24 days long cycling journey along some of the most remote regions of the Tibetan plateau. Some of the roads, trails and paths of this journey are not even shown in the most detailed maps of the region. I spent the last 9 days alone and since the camera wasn't mine, I was only able to finish the video with a series of photos I took.

This video is an attempt at providing a glimpse into the challenging, exciting, and incredibly rewarding world of cycle touring.
The clips are from a Summer 2007 trip, about 4500kms from Kashgar, Xinjiang, to Dali, Yunnan (in China) crossing Tibet along the way.

Random people at over 65+ locations and a handful of friends were used as rappers throughout the video.
The video was done completely practical (no CGI) and wound up costing a little under $80.

Notre Printemps est une fiction. Nous sommes à la fin des années 70 en Bourgogne. Nous suivons deux ans de la vie d’un couple, traversés successivement par la naissance, la maladie et la mort. Hélène, la femme, se souvient.
Notre Printemps, c’est l’histoire de la jeunesse fauchée par la maladie. C’est la beauté, l’amour, la vie heureuse brutalement interrompus par le drame, la tragédie. Nous voulons travailler sur cette opposition : raconter une disparition dans un halo de clarté, un chemin de mort qui se dévoile sur la scène comme un chemin de lumière.
La confrontation sur scène du théâtre et du cinéma vient alors provoquer un trouble, une confusion entre réel et fantasme, présent et passé, évènements concrets “en train de se produire” et souvenirs, rêves, projections, invocations morbides.

Notre Printemps est une fiction. Nous sommes à la fin des années 70 en Bourgogne. Nous suivons deux ans de la vie d’un couple, traversés successivement par la naissance, la maladie et la mort. Hélène, la femme, se souvient.
Notre Printemps, c’est l’histoire de la jeunesse fauchée par la maladie. C’est la beauté, l’amour, la vie heureuse brutalement interrompus par le drame, la tragédie. Nous voulons travailler sur cette opposition : raconter une disparition dans un halo de clarté, un chemin de mort qui se dévoile sur la scène comme un chemin de lumière.
