A trick-taking game is a card game or tile-based game in which play of a "hand" centers on a series of finite rounds or units of play, called tricks, which are each evaluated to determine a winner or "taker" of that trick. The object of such games then may be closely tied to the number of tricks taken, as in plain-trick games such as Whist, Contract Bridge, Spades, Napoleon, Euchre, Rowboat, and Spoil Five, or on the value of the cards contained in taken tricks, as in point-trick games such as Pinochle, the Tarot family, Rook, All Fours, Manille, Briscola, and most "evasion" games like Hearts. The domino game Texas 42 is an example of a trick-taking game that is not a card game.
Trick-and-draw games are trick-taking games in which the players can fill up their hands after each trick. Typically, players are free to play any card into a trick in the first phase of the game, but must follow suit as soon as the score is depleted.
Certain actions in trick-taking games with three or more players always proceed in the same direction. In games originating in North and West Europe including England, Russia, and the United States and Canada, the rotation is typically clockwise, i.e. play proceeds to the left; in South and East Europe and Asia it is typically counterclockwise, so that play proceeds to the right. When games move from one region to another, they tend to initially preserve their original sense of rotation, but a region with a dominant sense of rotation may adapt a migrated game to its own sensibilities. For two-player games the order of play is moot as either direction would result in exactly the same turn order.
Von Zipper is a subsidiary of Australian surfing brand Billabong International, and specializes in eyewear for surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding.
The City of Fremantle is a local government area in southern metropolitan Perth, Western Australia. The City covers an area of 19.0 square kilometres (7.3 sq mi), and lies about 19 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of the Perth central business district.
In 1848 a Town Trust was formed comprising a chairman and a committee of five. For the next twenty-three years they set about constructing roads and many fine public buildings with the use of convict labour. By 1870 the population of Fremantle had reached 3,796 and was a moderately flourishing town. There was a move among the colonists to secure greater control of the management of their affairs and in 1871 the Fremantle Town Council was formed, with a chairman and nine councillors. Two of the major achievements of the Town Council were a reliable supply of pure water and a more efficient system of sanitation. By 1928 Fremantle had a population of 22,340 and an annual revenue of £73,354 - enough to warrant a claim for city status. City status was conferred upon Fremantle on the 3 June 1929 as a centenary honour in 1929.
Nike Skateboarding, also known as Nike SB, is the Nike brand for its line of shoes, clothing, and equipment for skateboarding.
In 1997, Nike commenced production of its own line of skate shoes, but was unable to sell to many specialist skate shops, as the market was already strongly in favour of companies such as DC, Globe, eS Footwear, Emerica, and Vans; Nike was not considered a core skateboarding brand among the skateboarding community and, therefore, did not receive the necessary level of support.
In 2002, Nike introduced the "SB" brand. The Nike SB Dunk Low model was released, and consisted of padded tongues and collars and the "Zoom Air" insoles; the shoe was more similar to other skate shoe styles than the corporation's previous attempts. After the SB Dunk's mediocre sales, Nike released four other models: The Nike SB Angus, Nike SB FC, Nike SB Delta Force, and Nike SB URL.
In 2004, Nike SB signed Paul Rodriguez as a figurehead for the brand and recruited Lewis Marnell as the sole Australian team rider during the same period. In March of that year, Nike released the Nike Dunk SB collection, aimed towards skateboarders in California. The associated shoe designs differed from the previous SB Dunk range in that they were designed specifically for skateboarding. The collection included increased padding, Zoom Air insoles, and enhanced material quality, including triple stitching, a standard for skate shoes.

An overview of the trick-taking game Moons.
Tichu is a great card game for two pairs of partners that is played by millions of people every day in Asia. While it may sound odd, the game has been popularized in the United States via Germany, where a version published by Abacus was picked up by Rio Grande Games and is now sold in a 2-deck box by RGG. It's a partnership climbing game in which you try to score 1000 points, but taking tricks can be truly tricky because of the multiple ways to trump any particular play. Special cards and "bombs" create a lot of tension, drama, and some surprisingly funny moments, all from a deck of 52 cards numbered 2 through Ace like a Standard deck, but with unusual suits and the four unique cards: Mah-Jong, Dragon, Phoenix, and Dog. Daniel Hurst is a good friend of mine who taught me the game, and he'...
Banned in the UK and partially inspired by a real-life experience of star Rodleen Getsic, THE BUNNY GAME is an unflinching descent into torment and madness. Junkie hooker Sylvia Grey (Getsic in a brave, award-winning performance) turns the wrong trick in demented trucker JR (Jeff Renfro). After knocking her out cold and taking her to a desolate place where no one can hear her cries, JR subjects Sylvia to a series of increasingly twisted, sadistic “games”. But will she survive the ultimate test when she wakes up with her head sealed in a white leather bunny mask?

In our latest Ableton Live video tutorial, Liveschool trainer George Nicholas takes you through a simple and effective technique taking advantage of Ableton Live's Chord MIDI device, and most importantly its often over looked velocity controls. This is a subtle and original twist on the classic method of using the Chord plug-in, which on the surface is not a necessarily flexible device. With a bit of experimentation this little trick can get you some really immediate and interesting results. If you're looking to up your production and songwriting game, take a look into the 'MUSIC THEORY: For Electronic Music Production' course here at Ableton Liveschool in Sydney. It...

RED BULL SNOWBOARDING PERFORMANCE CAMP – Week One They Came, They Saw, They Conquered The goal of the Red Bull Snowboarding Performance camp at Snowpark in New Zealand was simple – get the team together and provide them with an environment where they can progress their riding and snowboarding to new levels. The weather during the Peanut Butter Rail Jam Finland stop seems to be jinxed. The weather wasn’t on our side this year either. Finland had two-week period of sunny and clear weather but unfortunately it changed for Saturday when we had a competition and of course it was sunny and nice the day after. However it didn’t discourage anyone, not riders or the audience. More than one hundred riders had arrived to show their skills and tricks. People were pretty stoked about the set-up, which included most probably the weirdest rail obstacle so far in Finland’s PBRJ stop. A Pole rail to a wall ride gave riders a lot of options to hit the spot, and it was definitely photographers pet and the favorite rail of the audience. Jam sessions kicked off with the two heats of 15 and under and qualifiers ...
