Evening Standard comment: A new commission to help tackle knife crime

Neville Lawrence, father of Stephen, who was murdered in south-east London in 1993, is to lead a community task force to try to find new solutions to London’s spate of knife crime, which has led to the deaths of 10 teenagers so far this year. It will be a group of  community leaders which will advise police and the Government on possible action to combat a drastic increase in the number of stabbings and youth murders. It will include senior figures from the community, academics and relatives of victims of knife crime.
