A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some festivals focus on a specific film-maker or genre (e.g., film noir) or subject matter (e.g., horror film festivals). A number of film festivals specialise in short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians do not consider Film Festivals as official releases of film, like Jerry Beck. The best known film festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the latter being the largest film festival worldwide, based on attendance. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest major festival. The Melbourne International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. A 2013 study found 3,000 active films festivals worldwide—active defined as having held an event in the previous 24 months.
"This Boy" is a song by English rock band the Beatles, written by John Lennon (credited to Lennon–McCartney). It was released in November 1963 as the B-side of the British Parlophone single "I Want to Hold Your Hand". It also appears as the third track on side one of the 1964 U.S album Meet the Beatles!. The Beatles performed it live on 16 February 1964 for their second appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. "This Boy" was remastered for compact disc by George Martin and released in 1988 on the Past Masters, Volume One compilation. On 9 September 2009 it was re-released on the two CD set Past Masters, as part of the remastering of the original Beatles' catalogue, and was included in The Beatles Stereo Box Set and in The Beatles in Mono box set.
Its composition was an attempt by Lennon at writing a song in the style of Motown star Smokey Robinson, specifically his song "I've Been Good To You", which has similar circular doo-wop chord changes, melody and arrangement. The tune and arrangement also has some resemblance to 'You Don't Understand Me', a B-side to a Bobby Freeman single.Paul McCartney cites the Teddy Bears' 1958 hit "To Know Him Is To Love Him" as also being influential. Lennon, McCartney, and George Harrison join together to sing an intricate three-part close harmony in the verses and refrain (originally the middle eight was conceived as a guitar solo, but altered during the recording process) and a similar song writing technique is exercised in later Beatles songs, such as "Yes It Is" and "Because". The song, in D major, revolves around a Fifties-style I-vi-ii-V doo-wop sequence in 12/8 time before moving to the harmonically complex middle eight (G-F#7-Bm-D7-G-E7-A-A7) and back again for the final verse and fade-out. William Mann describes the song as, "harmonically...one of their most intriguing, with its chains of pandiatonic clusters"
The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960. With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the foremost and most influential act of the rock era. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented with several genres, ranging from pop ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock, often incorporating classical elements in innovative ways. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania", but as the group's music grew in sophistication, led by primary songwriters Lennon and McCartney, they came to be perceived as an embodiment of the ideals shared by the counterculture of the 1960s.
The Beatles built their reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over a three-year period from 1960, with Stuart Sutcliffe initially serving as bass player. The core of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison went through a succession of drummers, most notably Pete Best, before asking Starr to join them. Manager Brian Epstein moulded them into a professional act and producer George Martin enhanced their musical potential. They gained popularity in the United Kingdom after their first hit, "Love Me Do", in late 1962. They acquired the nickname "the Fab Four" as Beatlemania grew in Britain over the following year, and by early 1964 they had become international stars, leading the "British Invasion" of the United States pop market. From 1965 onwards, the Beatles produced what many consider their finest material, including the innovative and widely influential albums Rubber Soul (1965), Revolver (1966), Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), The Beatles (commonly known as the White Album, 1968) and Abbey Road (1969).
"A Boy" (Korean: 소년이여, Sonyeoniyeo) is a song recorded by the South Korean singer G-Dragon. It was released as the fourth and final single from his debut album Heartbreaker. G-Dragon stated that the song was released as an answer to the plagiarism controversy that surrounded his singles "Heartbreaker" and "Butterfly" when several people were telling him to quit singing, with G-Dragon answering that he "will not quit."
Although the end of G-Dragon's single "Breathe" included a teaser of "A Boy"'s music video, the single was not released as the following single. Instead, G-Dragon released the song "Butterfly." A couple of weeks after the release of "Butterfly," "Soneoniya" was officially confirmed and released as the fourth and final promotional single for the album. G-Dragon stated that the song's lyrics, which was written by the artist solely, are about the thoughts and struggles he went through as a young boy when he became YG trainee at the age of 13.

See the heartbreaking text at 1:31... Daniel was a typical high school kid, but he for most of his school career, he was bullied. He was interested in hunting and trapping, and didn't fit in with a lot of school crowds. The bullying started with words, but progressed to throwing trash at him, punching him in the stomach, and even making him lick a bus window. They looked for any little thing to make his life miserable. One day, Daniel received a text from a bully that said, "Why don't you take one of your precious guns and do the world a favor and go kill yourself." Daniel replied, "You won't have to worry about me anymore. I'm going to go home and kill myself." The bully texted back, "Put up or shut up." (Via Champion of Choices at http://omele.to/1OuGtEv)

In summer 2013, during our stay in London, we shot a music video for our song "When We're Together", in which we painted a huge picture, together with passing strangers in the busy main road of Camden. Later we auctioned the painting, and after some shipping difficulties with the original highest bidder, Steve from Miami finally bought the canvas and put it up in his office. We we...

This is a private project I made while waiting to get green light on a commercial project. I had no plan other than doing some fun things in Cinema 4D. Just started playing with physics and other ideas in Cinema 4D. As I worked on it, it grew to something bigger. The world has conspired against poor Timothy Higgins and he has no choice but to hang himself. Always the dramatist, he chooses his own 9th birthday party as his stage. If you find this funny, good. If you're offended, it's okay—our paths were never meant to cross. The Torontoist said: "A miniature masterpiece. The self-explanatory story is a wonder, and if Jamie Travis isn't the next big thing we'll be entirely gutted."

In November 2012, I received the most interesting commission of my career as a director. To work with a team of IBM scientists to create the smallest movie in film history. The idea was to use a "Scanning tunneling microscope", a tool that allows scientists to visualize and move individual atoms over a surface, to create a movie in stop motion. As soon as we started, the challenges began to come forward. The first challenge was to create a common language between the scientists and the artists. After long hours of research and conference calls we started to understand the tools in the lab and ...

Turn left at the old hote
I know this boulevard much too well it hasn't changed since I been gone
Oh this used to be my way home
They paved the road thru the neighborhood
I guess the county finally fixed good it was gettin' rough
Someone finally complained enough
Fight the tears back with a smile
Stop and look for a little while oh it's plain to see
The only thing missing is me
That's my house and that's my car
That's my dog in my back yard
There's the window to the room
Where she lays her pretty head
I planted that tree out by the fence
Not long after we moved in
That's my kids and that's my wife
Who's that man, runnin' my life
If I pulled in would it cause a scene
There not really expectin me those kid's have been thru hell
I hear they've adjusted well
Turn around in the neigbors drive
I'd be hard to recognise in this pick-up truck
It's just an old fixer up
Drive away one more time
Lot of things runnin' thru my mind I guess the less things change
The more they never seem the same
That's my house and that's my car
That's my dog in my back yard
There's the window to the room
Where she lays her pretty head
I planted that tree out by the fence
Not long after we moved in
That's my kids and that's my wife
Who's that man, runnin' my life
That's my house and that's my car
That's my dog in my back yard
There's the window to the room
Where she lays her pretty head
I planted that tree out by the fence
