William "Bill" B. Lava (March 18, 1911 – February 20, 1971) was a composer and arranger who composed and conducted music for many feature films as well as that for the Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies animated cartoons from 1962 to 1969, replacing the deceased Milt Franklyn, making him the last composer and arranger in the classic era of Warner Bros. Cartoons.
Lava's music was markedly different from that of Franklyn and previous composer Carl Stalling, with a tendency towards atonality. A sense of tension is often created in Lava's scores using sequences based on the notes of the diminished seventh chord.
Lava also composed and sang the theme to the TV western series Cheyenne and composed the original theme from Gunsmoke.
Lava was educated at Von Humboldt Grammar School and Lane Tech High School in Chicago, then attended Northwestern University where his major was journalism. He studied conducting with Dr. Albert Coates in Los Angeles. Lava also wrote short stories for various magazines and was the editor of Northwestern Commerce Magazine and associate editor of Purple Parrot..
The Pink Panther is a series of comedy films featuring an inept French police detective, Inspector Jacques Clouseau. The series began with the release of The Pink Panther (1963). The role of Clouseau was originated by, and is most closely associated with, Peter Sellers. Most of the films were directed and co-written by Blake Edwards, with theme music composed by Henry Mancini.
In the films, the Pink Panther is a large and valuable pink diamond which is first shown in the opening film in the series. The diamond is called the "Pink Panther," because the flaw at its center, when viewed closely, is said to resemble a leaping pink panther. The phrase reappears in the title of the fourth film The Return of the Pink Panther, in which the theft of the diamond is again the center of the plot. The phrase was used for all the subsequent films in the series, even when the jewel did not figure in the plot. It ultimately appeared in six of the eleven films.
The first film in the series had an animated opening sequence, created by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and set to the theme music by Mancini, which featured the Pink Panther character. This character, designed by Hawley Pratt and Friz Freleng, was subsequently the subject of its own series of animated cartoons which gained its highest profile when aired on Saturday mornings as The Pink Panther Show. The character would be featured in the opening of every film in the movie series except A Shot in the Dark and Inspector Clouseau.
Lava is the molten rock expelled by a volcano during an eruption. The resulting rock after solidification and cooling is also called lava. The molten rock is formed in the interior of some planets, including Earth, and some of their satellites. The source of the heat that melts the rock within the earth is geothermal energy. When first erupted from a volcanic vent, lava is a liquid at temperatures from 700 to 1,200 °C (1,292 to 2,192 °F).
A lava flow is a moving outpouring of lava, which is created during a non-explosive effusive eruption. When it has stopped moving, lava solidifies to form igneous rock. The term lava flow is commonly shortened to lava. Although lava can be up to 100,000 times more viscous than water, lava can flow great distances before cooling and solidifying because of its thixotropic and shear thinning properties.
Explosive eruptions produce a mixture of volcanic ash and other fragments called tephra, rather than lava flows. The word "lava" comes from Italian, and is probably derived from the Latin word labes which means a fall or slide. The first use in connection with extruded magma (molten rock below the Earth's surface) was apparently in a short account written by Francesco Serao on the eruption of Vesuvius between May 14 and June 4, 1737. Serao described "a flow of fiery lava" as an analogy to the flow of water and mud down the flanks of the volcano following heavy rain.

Film noir (/fɪlm nwɑːr/; French pronunciation: [film nwaʁ]) is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly such that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations. Hollywood's classical film noir period is generally regarded as extending from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. Film noir of this era is associated with a low-key black-and-white visual style that has roots in German Expressionist cinematography. Many of the prototypical stories and much of the attitude of classic noir derive from the hardboiled school of crime fiction that emerged in the United States during the Great Depression.
The term film noir, French for "black film" (literal) or "dark film" (closer meaning), first applied to Hollywood films by French critic Nino Frank in 1946, was unrecognized by most American film industry professionals of that era. Cinema historians and critics defined the category retrospectively. Before the notion was widely adopted in the 1970s, many of the classic films noirs were referred to as melodramas. Whether film noir qualifies as a distinct genre is a matter of ongoing debate among scholars.

Before leaving Warner Bros. (over a "moonlighting" dispute over his involvement with the UPA feature "Gay Purr-ee"), Chuck Jones created a TV pilot for a "Road Runner Show" using new and reused animation. The show wasn't picked up, but the pilot was released theatrically in 1962 as a featurette called "Adventures of the Road Runner". Much of the new animation from it was used in a standalone short called "To Beep or Not to Beep" (released 1963). Musical composer Milt Franklyn died not long after "Adventures of the Road Runner"' was completed. His successor, Bill Lava, ended up scoring "To Beep or Not To Beep". The unusual result was a famous scene with two different musical scores in two different films.
William Lava: Main Title music from Inside Folsom Prison (1951). [Film Noir]
This is William Lava's last work before his death. The main title theme is presented here in its original form, as opposed to its edited form on the finished film. It's a movie that started off as a biker gang movie, then a carnival macabre film, then Dracula and Frankenstein were put in at the last minute, then a new ending where they fight was put in. This is one crazy movie with hippies, bikers, carnies, beheadings, undercover cops, Dracula with a 'fro, Frankenstein with a mashed up face, Forrest J. Ackerman, and cleavage to rival Hammer films. Perhaps one of my favorite Halloween movies of all time. Happy Easter!

While we may have our differences, we share this world, and must therefore take care of each other. Life as we know it, is a rare thing in the grand universe, and we all share this small blue planet. Why do we then kill and hate each other over trivial things such as religion and race, when we are sharing the fantastic experience of a lifetime: Life?

Ok thats it, Fidget Spinner trend is over, cause this is the best one ever!! ;) I built a custom fidget spinner out of 1/4in aluminum plate and strapped 3 E sized rocket engines. Really, I just wanted to do this. I saw Stephens video and needed answers. Plus, this gave me an excuse to buy a Plasma Cutter ive been eyeballing for yearssss. (dont tell sandra I could have made this with a jigsaw..) The spinner has a 6 inch radius, so it travels ~37 inches to make a full circle. Its spinning 88 times per second (5200 per minute), so that means the tip is traveling 276 feet per second, or 188.182 MPH. so yeah, 1000mph fidget spinner is pretty much impossible...
