In comics, a colorist is responsible for adding color to black-and-white line art. For most of the 20th century this was done using brushes and dyes which were then used as guides to produce the printing plates. Since the late 20th century it is most often done using digital media, with printing separations produced electronically.
Although most European colorists work directly for comics publishers (either as employees or freelancers), there are a few coloring studios which offer their services to publishers. American Color, Olyoptics, and Digital Chameleon were companies notable in this field.
Originally, comics were colored by cutting out films of various densities in the appropriate shapes to be used in producing color-separated printing plates. The typical colorist worked from photocopies of the inked pages, which they colored with special dyes. Dr. Martin's Dyes was a brand notable in this field within the comic strip industry.CMYK codes were written on the page to indicate the final printed colors, and these hand-colored pages were used as guides by the engraver.Tatjana Wood was the main colorist for DC Comics' covers from 1973 through the mid-1980s.
The Colourist is an American rock band from Orange County, California formed in 2009 by Adam Castilla, Maya Tuttle, Justin Wagner, and Kollin Johannsen.
Castilla and Tuttle met while performing in the band Paper Thin Walls, who rose to notoriety after being chosen to play the 2007 Led Zeppelin reunion concert in London. The name "The Colourist" was borne out of a conversation with a friend of the band—a film student who was working with a film colorist at the time. Because the name was not already used, the ensemble decided to use the British/Canadian spelling for aesthetic and availability reasons.
In 2013, the band's debut single "Little Games" becoming the No.1 song on Hype Machine.
After years of performing concerts in their home town, the ensemble captured the eyes of major record labels during their residency at Los Angeles' Bootleg Theater. In July 2012, the band signed a record contract with Universal Republic Records.
Emilíana Torrini Davíðsdóttir (born 16 May 1977) is an Icelandic singer, best known for her 2009 single "Jungle Drum" off the 2009 record Me and Armini, 1999 album Love in the Time of Science and for performing "Gollum's Song" for Peter Jackson's film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
Torrini grew up in Kópavogur, where, at the age of seven, she joined a choir as a soprano, until she went to opera school at the age of 15. Her father is Italian and her mother is Icelandic. Because of name regulations in Iceland at the time, her father Salvatore Torrini had to change his name to "Davíð Eiríksson", which also implied that Emilíana Torrini had to use the surname after her father in the traditional way; "Emilíana Torrini Davíðsdóttir". A few years later, the name regulations were changed, and she was again allowed to use her original surname.
Torrini grew up with her parents in Iceland. Her father owned and operated a well-known Italian restaurant in Iceland (Italia, located in Reykjavík) . After being discovered singing in a restaurant in Iceland by Derek Birkett, the owner of One Little Indian Records, he subsequently asked her over to London to record a record. Torrini decided to stay in London. She has a son, who was born on 6 September 2010.

Not a showreel. This movie is trying to explain what a Colorist does and how he or she can add value to a project
My passion for cinema led me to complete a series of courses in film and television at Victoria University and The Film and Television School, both in Wellington, New Zealand. I have obtained practical skills in editing and colour grading through my involvement with Apple-accredited classes, freelancing as a colorist, personal projects, and training at home. So far, I have been working with Apple's Color, however the art of color grading is a true passion of mine, and my goal is to learn the more advanced real-time color correction tools and techniques. We sat the sails, in July
Knew too well it was final goodbye
At the helm, there I stood
Like a tree, awaiting the flood
Over the sea and under the stars
We searched the shores both near and so far
Crossed the last line, the rim of the world
To find reality, life, death and birth
Clearsight....Fearflight....The tears light
Cleartsight....Sheer night.... Near blight
Clearsight....Clersight....Clearsight
Didn't know, what to find
There was no water, we could not return
Sailed the deserts, of the seas
Four years... human debris
Over the sea and under the stars
We searched the shores both near and so far
Crossed the last line, the rim of the world
To find reality, life, death and birth
Clearsight....Fearflight....The tears light
Cleartsight....Sheer night.... Near blight
Clearsight....Clersight....Clearsight
We fled the shallow, the modern decline
The ship of fools, a cursed bark of pine
...compass...dead, as sea and sky met
We reached the end at the cliffs of regret
HMS Clearsight, ghost of the sea
Drifting the oceans forever unfree
In to the storms, the rain and the mist
We still sail the dreams from the deepers grave there
Clearsight....Fearflight....The tears light
Cleartsight....Sheer night.... Near blight
Clearsight....Clersight....Clearsight
