The far i have come is by the Grace of God. To me this is a song that is dear to my heart, its a testimony or rather a story of how far God has brought me and how His grace has sustained me. Nobody but God has done it for me all glory and honor goes back to him. Please remember that where you are is not by your power but by the Grace of God, be humble and grateful. And the journey is still not over there is room for growth so don't be proud of what you have achieved someone somewhere has achieved more than you. STAY HUMBLE AND GRATEFUL.

I tried to find similarities with "Air on G String", "Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe" (BWV 156), "O Mensch bewein dein' Sünde groß" (BWV 622), "Sleepers, Wake!" from Bach, but honestly: None of them warrant the claim that the melody is borrowed from any of them. It's quite a stretch to find similarities, even, between chord-schemes, bass-lines, and the two or three tone-sequences that match with aforementioned pieces by Bach; You could then say the same about ALL pop hits! To claim it borrows ideas from "When a Man Loves a Woman" (Percy Sledge) is like saying every pop-song in C-minor borrows ideas from songs with the same tempo. This composition stands tall on its own. Every song out there is *inspired* by those from other songwriters, you don't need to brag about your miracle discovery;

I tried to find similarities with "Air on G String", "Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe" (BWV 156), "O Mensch bewein dein' Sünde groß" (BWV 622), "Sleepers, Wake!" from Bach, but honestly: None of them warrant the claim that the melody is borrowed from any of them. It's quite a stretch to find similarities, even, between chord-schemes, bass-lines, and the two or three tone-sequences that match with aforementioned pieces by Bach; You could then say the same about ALL pop hits! I tried to find similarities with "Air on G String", "Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe" (BWV 156), "O Mensch bewein dein' Sünde groß" (BWV 622), "Sleepers, Wake!" from Bach, but honestly: None of them warrant the claim that the melody is borrowed from any of them. It's quite a stretch to find similarities, even, between chord-schemes, bass-lines, and the two or three tone-sequences that match with aforementioned pieces by Bach; You could then say the same about ALL pop hits! To claim it borrows ideas from "When a Man Loves a Woman" (Percy Sledge) is like saying every pop-song in C-minor borrows ideas from songs with the same tempo. This composition stands tall on its own. Every song out there is *inspired* by those from other songwriters, you don't need to brag about your miracle discovery;

Fixed audio-sync (it was badly done). Sound engineer of this famous mono mix was Keith Grant. Vocals and piano played by Gary Brooker. Matthew Fisher played the Hammond organ, and these original lyrics were written by Keith Reid;

It's quite a stretch to find similarities, even, between chord-schemes, bass-lines, and the two or three tone-sequences that match with aforementioned pieces by Bach; You could then say the same about ALL pop hits! To claim it borrows ideas from "When a Man Loves a Woman" (Percy Sledge) is like saying every pop-song in C-minor borrows ideas from songs with the same tempo. This composition stands tall on its own. Every song out there is *inspired* by those from other songwriters, you don't need to brag about your miracle discovery;

Matthew Fisher played the Hammond organ, and these original lyrics were written by Keith Reid;

0:00:00 - Epsilon In Malaysian Pale [16.27] 0:16:27 - Maroubra Bay [16.58] 1987: Virgin CD - CDV 2040 Edgar Froese recorded his second solo album, Epsilon In Malaysian Pale after returning from Tangerine Dream's Australian tour 1975. Obviously the music reflects his impressions of south-eastern Asia and Australia. According to Edgar Froese, "Epsilon" was the synonym for a person who is completely enveloped by his environment, and the "Pale" stood for the ever-present heavy humidity. Epsilon In Malaysian Pale was recorded in Berlin, Cologne, Bonn and Hamburg. The main instrument was the Mellotron for which Edgar Froese had recorded various tape segments in London, but also the VCS 3 synthsiser, modified organs and modular synthesiser have been used.

‘Pale Ravine’ is the debut full-length realization of Erik K Skodvin and Otto A Totland under the Deaf Center moniker. More recently known for solo recordings under their own names on the Sonic Pieces label. The album, back then made in their mid 20ies, is an other-wordly sound collagé to Norwegian nature, theatricality and old silent films. The two musicians have looked deep into their own family histories to piece together a dusty and nostalgic epic, blending elements of classical and electronic music with an array of field recordings and a lot of fog.

2016 Miasmah edition of the now classic debut album by Deaf Center, originally released on Type records in 2005. Full-lenght album version, includes the tracks that were previously only on the CD edition + a 20 minute side of unreleased material from the same timeframe. Released as a gatefold 2xLP with original extended artwork.
‘Pale Ravine’ is the debut full-length realization of Erik K Skodvin and Otto A Totland under the Deaf Center moniker. More recently known for solo recordings under their own names on the Sonic Pieces label. The album, back then made in their mid 20ies, is an other-wordly sound collagé to Norwegian nature, theatricality and old silent films. The two musicians have looked deep into their own family histories to piece together a dusty and nostalgic epic, blending elements of classical and electronic music with an array of field recordings and a lot of fog.
