Chaos at Metro station

DH News Service, Bengaluru, Jul 5 2017, 0:45 IST

Commuters had a hard time entering the Baiyappanahalli Metro station between 5.15 pm and 6 pm as one of the baggage scanners malfunctioned. Due to this, the security staff had to allow commuters through just one of the metal detectors, to the only working scanner.

This resulted in a huge rush at the entrance with the queue stretching for at least 200 metres till the bus stop.

As the crowd swelled, the security staff started checking bags manually to decrease the rush. The scenes were different inside, with short queues near the ticket counters and the normal rush-hour crowd.
