Now in it’s 20th year on the Australian market, the Toyota LandCruiser Prado continues to be an incredibly important vehicle for this market's top-selling brand.
The Prado, as we know it, has been a favourite among the Toyota faithful for the two decades it’s been on sale (indeed, it's been the top-selling SUV on the market, full-stop, since its launch in 1997) despite being increasingly lumbered with ageing engines.
That fact has changed with this new 2016 Prado though. Things might look much the same outside, but there's a welcome all-new diesel engine that's a significant step forward, especially in terms of noise refinement. There’s also, finally, a new six-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Prado — it’s a name synonymous with off-roading and, evidently, astronomical sales. Over 16,000 in 2014 to be exact, for a market share of a little over 15 per cent.
So, when Ford Australia announced that the Ranger-based Ford Everest would take on the Prado both in terms of price and off-road ability, we packed our camping gear and hit the bush for some proper off-road driving.
To put these vehicles into context, they are both ladder frame-based SUVs that are designed to carry seven people and offer class leading off-road capability. Pricing for the Prado starts at $52,990 for the five-seat GX and caps off at $84,490 for the top-specification seven-seat Kakadu.
The Everest on the other hand starts from $54,990 for the seven-seat Ambiente and finishes at $76,990 for the top-specification seven-seat Titanium.

The first pictures of the new 2018 Toyota Prado facelift, a slimmer version of the big Land Cruiser, have surfaced online through an Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/hamad1two3/).
The new Toyota Prado have gotten substantial revisions around the front where it gets a more prominent face, new headlights, and a huge and commanding grille. The profile of the car appears to have remained largely intact, but there are interior upgrades which, unfortunately, are not that visible in these grainy images.

Museo del Prado
The Museo del Prado (Spanish pronunciation: [muˈseo ðel ˈpɾaðo]) is the main Spanish national art museum, located in central Madrid. It features one of the world's finest collections of European art, dating from the 12th century to the early 19th century, based on the former Spanish Royal Collection, and unquestionably the best single collection of Spanish art. Founded as a museum of paintings and sculpture in 1819, it also contains important collections of other types of works. El Prado is one of the most visited sites in the world, and is considered one the greatest museums of art in the world. The numerous works by Francisco de Goya, the single most extensively represented artist, as well as by Diego Velázquez, El Greco, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens and Hieronymus Bosch are some of the highlights of the collection.
The collection currently comprises around 7,600 paintings, 1,000 sculptures, 4,800 prints and 8,200 drawings, in addition to a large number of other works of art and historic documents. By 2012 the Museum will be displaying about 1,300 works in the main buildings, while around 3,100 works are on temporary loan to various museums and official institutions. The remainder are in storage. The museum received 2.8 million visitors in 2012.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a mid-size four-wheel drive vehicle in the Toyota Land Cruiser range. It is produced by the Japanese car maker, Toyota Motor Corporation. The Prado is one of the smaller vehicles in the range. The 2014 Prado is based on Toyota's J150 platform.
In Europe the 2014 Prado is designated Land Cruiser LC3, LC4, and LC5, depending on the equipment levels. The Prado may also be referred to as Land Cruiser LC70, LC90, LC120, and LC150 depending on the platform. In North America it is not part of the Land Cruiser range; the Toyota 4Runner replaces the Prado with basic trim while the Lexus GX 470 replaces the Prado with luxury trim. The GX 470 uses practically identical body panels and V8 engine.
Prados have ladder frames, two-speed transfer boxes and rear beam axles. The J70 platform has a front beam axle while the J90, J120, and J150 platforms have front independent suspension.
The 2014 Prado is available in GX, GXL, VX, and Grande versions. The GX is the entry level model, while the Grande is the luxury version. In most markets the Prado is available with a 4.0 L V6 petrol engine or 3.0 L straight 4 Diesel engine. It is also available in 4.6 L V8 petrol. In some European countries commercial van variants, based on the short-wheelbase chassis. are available.

Toyota Land Cruiser
The Toyota Land Cruiser (Japanese: トヨタ ランドクルーザー, Toyota Rando-kurūzā) is a series of four-wheel drive vehicles produced by the Japanese car maker Toyota. It is Toyota's longest running series.
Production of the first generation Land Cruiser began in 1951 (90 units) as Toyota's version of a Jeep-like vehicle. The Land Cruiser has been produced in convertible, hardtop, station wagon, and utility truck versions. The Land Cruiser's reliability and longevity has led to huge popularity, especially in Australia where it is the best-selling body-on-frame, four-wheel drive vehicle. Toyota also extensively tests the Land Cruiser in the Australian outback – considered to be one of the toughest operating environments in both temperature and terrain. In Japan, the Land Cruiser is exclusive to Toyota Japanese dealerships called Toyota Store.
As of 2014, the Land Cruiser J200 is available in every market except Canada (where the Lexus LX is available), North Korea, and South Korea.

The first pictures of the new 2018 Toyota Prado facelift, a slimmer version of the big Land Cruiser, have surfaced online through an Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/hamad1two3/).
The new Toyota Prado have gotten substantial revisions around the front where it gets a more prominent face, new headlights, and a huge and commanding grille. The profile of the car appears to have remained largely intact, but there are interior upgrades which, unfortunately, are not that visible in these grainy images.

Hola y bienvenidos a Madrid. This week we are in the Spanish capital and we are going to show you twenty five of the best things to do in the city.
Final thoughts on your time in Madrid. Well, I really enjoyed the city. And I really found that it is super walk-able. We were here for 10 days and we hardly had to take the metro at all. We just took the bus once when we were visiting the stadium but the rest of the time we were able to walk wherever we needed to go. And also I think it is a great city for art lovers. There are so many galleries and museums to check out. And a lot of them are free in the evening. So keep that in mind.
And now it is your turn. What did you think of Madrid? You know what? I absolutely loved Madrid. It is a city that just really clicked with me. We have a lot of friends that are living here long term and prior to coming here I had no idea like why would someone want to come to Madrid? Now I totally get it. I love the culture, I love the food, I love the nightlife. Everything is really cheap. I go to the grocery store and I can get a one liter thing of wine for just over a Euro. It is just a really affordable fun city to be in. And it is somewhere I hope I have a chance to come back to again soon.
And that is a wrap of our time in Madrid! We had a splendid time and were truly sad to say goodbye to the city, but that just means we'll have to come back again. If you have any travel tips for Madrid, feel free to share those in the comments below.

Housed in a former hospital built by Francesco Sabatini for Carlos III in the late 18th century, the museum was designed by the Spanish architect Antonio Fernánez Alba in 1977 and completed in 1990. Officially opened by the King and Queen in 1992, it is dedicated to Spanish 20th-century art, pride of place belonging to Picasso's disturbing Civil War canvas, Guernica . Dalí, Miró and Juan Gris are among the other artists on show. More recently the museum has expanded with a building created by the French architect Jean Nouvel. The expansion houses the museum's library, a 450-seat auditorium and temporary exhibitions galleries.

Admission Fees: Yes (except free on Saturdays between 1430-1900 and Sundays).
