Live performance of Francis Albert Sinatra performing "Come Fly With Me"
Fly Me To The Moon- Frank Sinatra
"My Way" - utwór z 1968, która jest angielską wersją francuskiej piosenki "Comme d'habitude" z 1967 napisanej przez Claude'a François i Jacques'a Revaux. Autorem angielskich słów jest Paul Anka, a jej pierwszym, najbardziej znanym wykonawcą Frank Sinatra. Frank Sinatra's official website - www.sinatra.com Płyta "My Way", wyprodukowana przez Dona Costę i Sonny'ego Burke'a, po raz pierwszy ukazała się w marcu 1969 roku. "Mamy teraz doktrynę Sinatry. On śpiewał taką piosenkę: (I Did It) My Way. Więc niech każdy kraj decyduje sam, jaką drogę obierze." - Michaił Gorbaczow (1989) Lyrics: And now, the end is near And so I face the final curtain My friend, I'll say it clear I'll state my case, of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I've traveled each and ev'ry highway But more, much more than this I did it my way Regrets, I've had a few But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption I planned each charted course Each careful step along the byway But more, much more than this I did it my way Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew But through it all, when there was doubt I ate it up and spit it out I faced it all and I stood tall And did it my way I've loved, I've laughed and cried I've had my fill; my share of losing And now, as tears subside I find it all so amusing To think I did all that And may I say - not in a shy way "No, oh no not me I did it my way" For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught To say the things he truly feels And not the words of one who kneels The record shows I took the blows I did it my way I did it my way
Sinatra on stage live singing...the lyric slightly differed from the studio recording.... And now the end is near And so I face the final curtain My friend I'll say it clear I'll state my case of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I traveled each and every highway And more, much more than this I did it my way Regrets I've had a few But then again too few to mention I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption I planned each charted course Each careful step along the byway And more, much more than this I did it my way Yes there were times I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew But through it all when there was doubt I ate it up and spit it out, I faced it all And I stood tall and did it my way I've loved, I've laughed and cried I've had my fill, my share of losing And now as tears subside I find it all so amusing To think I did all that And may I say not in a shy way Oh no, oh no, not me I did it my way For what is a man what has he got If not himself then he has not To say the things he truly feels And not the words of one who kneels The record shows I took the blows And did it my way Yes it was my way

https://www.facebook.com/BrazilianMusicCollection?fref=ts Antonio Carlos Jobim brings the Bossa Nova beat to Francis Albert Sinatra for this 1967 album, creating a sleek and sexy collection of songs that will appeal to Pop, Easy Listening, Bossa Nova and Lounge fans. Though they are two strong musical personalities, they allow each other plenty of space and, ultimately, Sinatra's voice magnificently soars above Jobim's simple, yet effective Latin-tinged rhythms. Stu Weiss from the Creekside Center for Earth Observation presents a webinar on the Bay Checkerspot Butterfly for the Conservation Biology Institute. Nutrient-poor, serpentinitic soils in the San Francisco Bay area sustain a native grassland that supports many rare species, including the Bay checkerspot butterfly (Euphydryas editha bayensis). Nitrogen (N) deposition from air pollution threatens biodiversity in these grasslands because N is the primary limiting nutrient for plant growth on serpentinitic soils. Several populations of the butterfly in south San Jose crashed following the cessation of cattle grazing. Nearby populations under continued grazing did not suffer similar declines. The immediate cause of the population crashes was rapid invasion by introduced annual grasses that crowded out the larval host plants of the butterfly. Ungrazed serpentinitic grasslands on the San Francisco Peninsula have largely resisted grass invasions for nearly four decades. Several lines of evidence indicate that dry N deposition from smog is responsible for the observed grass invasion. Fertilization experiments have shown that soil N limits grass invasion in serpentinitic soils.Grazing cattle select grasses over forbs, and grazing leads to a net export of N as cattle are removed for slaughter. Although poorly managed cattle grazing can significantly disrupt native ecosystems, in this case moderate, well-managed grazing is essential for maintaining native biodiversity in the face of invasive species and exogenous inputs of N from nearby urban areas. An army of volunteers and donations from a suite of organizations have made the conservation of the butterfly in the Bay area a reality. Stu describes his 30 years of scientific monitoring of butterfly populations and the local conservation efforts that have brought success to the area.

This video shows the 6 head Butterfly running a Golden Rose design. Although there were a few thread breaks throughout the filming, these malfunctions can be attributed to the poor quality of the cap being stitched upon and the lack of precision when digitizing the design.

After some initial personnel changes, in early 1970 the line-up consisted of Brian, Tony (Shakespeare) and Lance with the addition of Steve Coe on keyboards. They were based in Blackpool in North-West England. In November 1970 they cut their first album, entitled simply "Complex". Originally devised as a demonstration record (demo) for bringing the band to the attention of major record companies for the purpose of obtaining a recording contract, it was recorded at "107 Studio" in St. Annes, engineered and mixed down by Graham Atkinson. 99 (vinyl) copies of the album were pressed by Craighall Studios in Scotland. The reason for such a limited release was the imposition of Purchase Tax on quantities greater than 99. The album went on to become quite famous in "psych" album circles - "... one of the 'Holy Trinity' items of rare British psychedelia ..." and at one stage was fetching $6,000 on eBay for each copy. An unauthorised bootleg was made in 1991 but the quality was poor. A 1999 limited-edition re-release was authorised by the band on Wooden Hill records (Vinyl and CD versions). This was of much better quality soundwise and was quickly sold out. [from Wikipedia] This is a private pressing that was originally released in 1970 and was re-released on CD in 1999. The overall sound quality is murky, but not bad enough to render the music obsolete. You should keep in mind that this was an independent recording and the budget was low. I can only imagine how amazing some of these songs would sound, had they been recorded, produced, and mastered correctly. This is a very warm album that is more rock than psych. Overall, this album is a great piece of psych history. My favorite songs are: Mademoiselle Jackie, Images Blue, and Norwegian Butterfly. There is also a pretty nice cover of the song "Hush" by Deep Purple. [conventional sound] PERSONNEL: Steve Coe - organ Brian Lee - guitars, backing vocals Lance Fogg - bass, backing vocals Tony Shakespeare - lead vocals, drums

noodls 2015-03-28Francis Albert "Frank" Sinatra, /sɨˈnɑːtrə/, (December 12, 1915 – May 14, 1998) was an American singer and film actor.
Beginning his musical career in the swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, Sinatra became an unprecedentedly successful solo artist in the early to mid-1940s, after being signed to Columbia Records in 1943. Being the idol of the "bobby soxers", he released his first album, The Voice of Frank Sinatra in 1946. His professional career had stalled by the 1950s, but it was reborn in 1953 after he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in From Here to Eternity.
He signed with Capitol Records in 1953 and released several critically lauded albums (such as In the Wee Small Hours, Songs for Swingin' Lovers, Come Fly with Me, Only the Lonely and Nice 'n' Easy). Sinatra left Capitol to found his own record label, Reprise Records in 1961 (finding success with albums such as Ring-a-Ding-Ding!, Sinatra at the Sands and Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim), toured internationally, was a founding member of the Rat Pack and fraternized with celebrities and statesmen, including John F. Kennedy. Sinatra turned 50 in 1965, recorded the retrospective September of My Years, starred in the Emmy-winning television special Frank Sinatra: A Man and His Music, and scored hits with "Strangers in the Night" and "My Way".
Judy Garland (June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969) was an American actress, singer and vaudevillian. Renowned for her contralto voice, she attained international stardom through a career that spanned 45 of her 47 years as an actress in musical and dramatic roles, as a recording artist and on the concert stage. Respected for her versatility, she received a Juvenile Academy Award and won a Golden Globe Award, as well as Grammy Awards and a Special Tony Award. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the remake of A Star is Born and for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1961 film, Judgment at Nuremberg. At 39 years of age, she remains the youngest recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in the motion picture industry.
After appearing in vaudeville with her two older sisters, Garland was signed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as a teenager. There she made more than two dozen films, including nine with Mickey Rooney and the 1939 film with which she would be most identified, The Wizard of Oz. After 15 years, she was released from the studio but gained renewed success through record-breaking concert appearances, including a return to acting beginning with critically acclaimed performances.
Theodore Walter "Sonny" Rollins (born September 7, 1930 in New York City) is an American jazz tenor saxophonist. Rollins is widely recognized as one of the most important and influential jazz musicians. A number of his compositions, including "St. Thomas", "Oleo", "Doxy", and "Airegin", have become jazz standards.
Although Rollins was born in New York City, his parents were born in the United States Virgin Islands. Rollins received his first saxophone at age 13. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School in East Harlem. He said that a concert by Frank Sinatra there, accompanied by a plea for racial harmony, changed his life.
Rollins started as a pianist, changed to alto saxophone, and finally switched to tenor in 1946. During his high-school years, he played in a band with other future jazz legends Jackie McLean, Kenny Drew and Art Taylor. He was first recorded in 1949 with Babs Gonzales ( J. J. Johnson was the arranger of the group). In his recordings through 1954, he played with performers such as Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk.
Poor Butterfly
'Neath the blossoms waiting
Poor Butterfly
For she loved him so
The moments pass into hours
The hours pass into years
And as she smiles through her tears
She murmurs low
The moon and I
Know that he'll be faithful
I know he'll come to me
By and by
But if he don't come back
Then I'll never sigh or cry
I just must die

I just must die,
Poor butterfly!
There's a story told of a little Japanese.
Sitting demurely 'neath the cherry blossom trees.
Miss Butterfly's her name.
A sweet little innocent child was she
'Till a fine young American from the sea
To her garden came.
They met 'neath the cherry blossoms everyday.
And he taught her how to love the American way.
To love with her soul t'was easy to learn.
Then he sailed away with a promise to return.
Poor butterfly
'Neath the blossoms waiting.
Poor Butterfly
For she loved him so.
The moments pass into hours.
The hours pass into years.
And as she smiles through her tears,
She murmurs low:
The moon and I know that he'll be faithful
I'm sure he'll come to me by and by.
But if he won't come back then I'll never sigh or cry,
I just must die.
