Broadcasting House is the headquarters of the BBC, in Portland Place and Langham Place, London. The first radio broadcast was made on 15 March 1932, and the building was officially opened two months later, on 15 May. The main building is in Art Deco style, with a facing of Portland stone over a steel frame. It is a Grade II* listed building and includes the BBC Radio Theatre, where music and speech programmes are recorded in front of a studio audience, and lobby that was used as a location for filming the 1998 BBC television series In the Red.
As part of a major consolidation of the BBC's property portfolio in London, Broadcasting House has been extensively renovated and extended. This involved the demolition of post-war extensions on the eastern side of the building, replaced by a new wing completed in 2005. The wing was named the "John Peel Wing" in 2012, after the disc jockey. BBC London, BBC Arabic Television and BBC Persian Television are housed in the new wing, which also contains the reception area for BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra (the studios themselves are in the new extension to the main building).
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is the public service broadcaster of the United Kingdom, headquartered at Broadcasting House in London.
The BBC is the world's oldest national broadcasting organisation and the largest broadcaster in the world by number of employees, with over 20,950 staff in total, of whom 16,672 are in public sector broadcasting; including part-time, flexible as well as fixed contract staff, the total number is 35,402.
The BBC is established under a Royal Charter and operates under its Agreement with the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. Its work is funded principally by an annual television licence fee which is charged to all British households, companies, and organisations using any type of equipment to receive or record live television broadcasts. The fee is set by the British Government, agreed by Parliament, and used to fund the BBC's extensive radio, TV, and online services covering the nations and regions of the UK. From 1 April 2014, it also funds the BBC World Service, launched in 1932, which provides comprehensive TV, radio, and online services in Arabic, and Persian, and broadcasts in 28 languages.
A house is a building that functions as a home, ranging from simple dwellings such as rudimentary huts of nomadic tribes and the improvised shacks in shantytowns to complex, fixed structures of wood, brick, marble or other materials containing plumbing, ventilation and electrical systems. Most conventional modern houses in Western cultures will contain a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen or cooking area, and a living room. In traditional agriculture-oriented societies, domestic animals such as chickens or larger livestock (like cattle) may share part of the house with humans. The social unit that lives in a house is known as a household. Most commonly, a household is a family unit of some kind, although households may also be other social groups or individuals. The design and structure of the house is also subject to change as a consequence of globalization, urbanization and other social, economic, demographic, and technological reasons. Various other cultural factors also influence the building style and patterns of domestic space.
Broadcasting is the distribution of audio and/or video content to a dispersed audience via any electronic mass communications medium, but typically one using the electromagnetic spectrum (radio waves), in a one-to-many model. Broadcasting began with AM radio broadcasting which came into popular use starting with the invention of the crystal detector in 1906. Before this, all forms of electronic communication, radio, telephone, and telegraph, were "one-to-one", with the message intended for a single recipient. The term "broadcasting", borrowed from the agricultural method of sowing seeds in a field by casting them broadly about, was coined by either KDKA manager Frank Conrad or RCA historian George Clark around 1920 to distinguish this new activity of "one-to-many" communication; a single radio station transmitting to multiple listeners.
Over the air Broadcasting is usually associated with radio and television, though in practice radio and television transmissions take place using both wires and radio waves. The receiving parties may include the general public or a relatively small subset; the point is that anyone with the appropriate receiving technology can receive the signal. The field of broadcasting includes a wide range of practices, from relatively private exchanges such as public radio, community radio and commercial radio, public television, and commercial television.

The Queen has officially opened the BBC's rebuilt Broadcasting House, creating a memorable TV moment when she appeared behind the newsreaders on air. She had earlier made a live broadcast on BBC Radio 4, in which she said it was a "great pleasure" to see the BBC's new central London headquarters. During a tour of the building, she met many of the BBC's biggest names. The Duke of Edinburgh had also been expected to attend, but was admitted to hospital on Thursday for an operation. Crowds gathered outside the building, which flew the Royal Standard, to await the arrival of the Queen, who wore a powder blue coat and hat. On the 21st of July 2016 at 3:59PM UK time, the BBC News Channel launched 6 new countdowns for the news channel. At the same time they also launched a new "filler countdown" which is used on the news channel when there is a scheduled BBC News simulcast with BBC One. This filler is completely new, for the first time since it's launch in 2013 (after the opening of New Broadcasting House) every element of the filler has been changed - although it does still retain the glorious David Lowe countdown filler music. This 60 minute version of the filler is in standard definition, but there is also a 10 minute full 1080p HD version of the filler which can be found on the link below, along with all the previous versions of the filler countdown that have been in use by the BBC at various points sin...
BBC Faith Forum has invited Sw Anand Arun for a talk program on 'mindfulness in an era of the 24-hour news cycle' Around 50 staff attended the talk at BBC's London HQ New Broadcasting House. Sw Jee also introduced a short meditation.
When you walk into the new BBC Broadcasting House you can't help but think that you are standing at the starting line of a race to the future. The gleaming newsroom, not yet open or full of staff, is steeped in promise. And then, hearing Ralph Rivera, the head of Future Media, speak about the new Connected Studio initiative, it's clear that the BBC understands that the future is going to be about opening access and connecting with its audience in a whole new way. But as I stand on stage at the historic Radio Theatre, the impending cloud of “digital overload” hangs in the air. Can the BBC evolve from maker to curator? Will audiences that are looking for information in new, bite-sized, embeddable chunks bring their new media habits to the venerable Beeb?

Some time
Locked in my own sense of right and wrong
I'm not sure my lines
Are real
Like a memory true
Aiding and abetting all the things I do
I don't care
For now so what
Because
I'm in a new house
I'm in love
I'm in a new house
I'm in love
I'm in a new house I'm in love again
Reverie surrounds my brain
Walking round the street I wanna see you again
This room was made for two
Subliminal rage
Mapping out the angles that compile you
Can't control
Myself
Because
I'm in a new house
