This film explores the defining aspects of Greek Theatre. The theatre of Ancient Greece flourished between 550 BC and 220 BC. A festival honouring the god Dionysus was held in Athens, out of which three dramatic genres emerged: tragedy, comedy and the satyr play.
Western theatre has its roots in the theatre of Ancient Greece and the plays that originated there. This collection features video about Greek theatre and productions of Greek plays staged at the National Theatre.
Featured in this film are experts Edith Hall, professor of Classics at Kings College, London, Laura Swift from the Open University, Dr Sean McElvoy from Varndean College, Brighton and actor Michael Grady-Hall from the cast of Antigone.
This film includes performance footage from the 2012 National Theatre production of Antigone, directed by Polly Findlay, starring Christopher Eccleston as Creon and Jodie Whittaker in the title role.

Tamsin Greig is Malvolia in a new twist on Shakespeare’s classic comedy of mistaken identity.
A ship is wrecked on the rocks. Viola is washed ashore but her twin brother Sebastian is lost. Determined to survive on her own, she steps out to explore a new land. So begins a whirlwind of mistaken identity and unrequited love.
The nearby households of Olivia and Orsino are overrun with passion. Even Olivia's upright housekeeper Malvolia is swept up in the madness. Where music is the food of love, and nobody is quite what they seem, anything proves possible.
Simon Godwin (NT Live: Man and Superman, NT Live: The Beaux’ Stratagem) directs this joyous new production with Tamsin Greig (Friday Night Dinner, Black Books, Episodes) as a transformed Malvolia. an ensemble cast that includes Daniel Rigby (Flowers, Jericho), Tamara Lawrence (Undercover), Doon Mackichan (Smack the Pony) and Daniel Ezra (The Missing, Undercover).

Shot in Saddam Hussein's hilltop palace in the mountains overlooking the River Tigris, Theatre of War is a slow, virtually static video piece redolent of classical history painting. Audio was recorded at the official US military hand-over ceremony at the nearby city of Saniya. A mullah's prayer for unity among Arabs is spoken, after which the pan-Arab national anthem, Mawtini (My Homeland) is played, emphasizing Arab national solidarity and a pan-Arab territory. Made in Iraq in March 2009.

Theatre
Theatre or theater is a collaborative form of fine art that uses live performers to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place, often a stage. The performers may communicate this experience to the audience through combinations of gesture, speech, song, music, and dance. Elements of art and stagecraft are used to enhance the physicality, presence and immediacy of the experience. The specific place of the performance is also named by the word "theatre" as derived from the Ancient Greek θέατρον (théatron, "a place for viewing"), itself from θεάομαι (theáomai, "to see", "to watch", "to observe").
Modern Western theatre comes, in large measure, from ancient Greek drama, from which it borrows technical terminology, classification into genres, and many of its themes, stock characters, and plot elements. Theatre artist Patrice Pavis defines theatricality, theatrical language, stage writing, and the specificity of theatre as synonymous expressions that differentiate theatre from the other performing arts, literature, and the arts in general.

Shot in Saddam Hussein's hilltop palace in the mountains overlooking the River Tigris, Theatre of War is a slow, virtually static video piece redolent of classical history painting. Audio was recorded at the official US military hand-over ceremony at the nearby city of Saniya. A mullah's prayer for unity among Arabs is spoken, after which the pan-Arab national anthem, Mawtini (My Homeland) is played, emphasizing Arab national solidarity and a pan-Arab territory. Last month I was hired by Director Mike Marriage of Lunarfilm.co.uk to DP a trailer for the big screen to be shown in movie theaters around the world. NT LIVE is a groundbreaking concept of putting on plays at the National Theatre in London and broadcasting them live to cinemas all over the world via Satellite. The first play is "Phedre" on the 25th June with Helen Mirren This was the first time my work would be shown on the big screen and the first time anything I have shot has been transferred to 35mm film. I have yet to see it in print but soon I hope! It was shot on the Sony EX3 with the Letus Ultimate and mostly Zeiss Nikon lenses. Lighting was with a mixture of Kino Flo Diva's and Dedos. Western theatre has its roots in the theatre of Ancient Greece and the plays that originated there. This collection features video about Greek theatre and productions of Greek plays staged at the National Theatre.
Featured in this film are experts Edith Hall, professor of Classics at Kings College, London, Laura Swift from the Open University, Dr Sean McElvoy from Varndean College, Brighton and actor Michael Grady-Hall from the cast of Antigone.
This film includes performance footage from the 2012 National Theatre production of Antigone, directed by Polly Findlay, starring Christopher Eccleston as Creon and Jodie Whittaker in the title role.

Since 1937, the legendary Franklin Theatre has been the heart of Main Street in historic Franklin, Tennessee. It was recently renovated and restored to it's former glory with all the highest tech gadgetry this side of the Mississippi. I created this super fun 1930's inspired welcome spot to introduce all the movies from classics like Casablanca to first run features like National Treasure 7.

Helene Alving has spent her life suspended in an emotional void after the death of her cruel but outwardly charming husband. She is determined to escape the ghosts of her past by telling her son, Oswald, the truth about his father.
But on his return from his life as a painter in France, Oswald reveals how he has already inherited the legacy of Alving’s dissolute life.
Founded in 2008, Dusthouse is a British film production company creating unique work for the international theatre and performing arts industries. Our distinctive visual style has evolved through a shared passion for live performance, film, sound design and music.
Dusthouse have been at the forefront of a new development within the world of theatre marketing. The 'theatre trailer' is a hugely powerful tool, raising the profile of a production whilst contributing greatly to increased ticket sales. Through contemporary marketing aimed at younger demographics Dusthouse are helping introduce new audiences to the wonderful world of live theatre, dance, circus and opera.
Dusthouse's projects are creatively driven. We work closely with both marketing teams and production creatives to ensure that both the shows essence and branding are captured equally. Last month I was hired by Director Mike Marriage of Lunarfilm.co.uk to DP a trailer for the big screen to be shown in movie theaters around the world.
NT LIVE is a groundbreaking concept of putting on plays at the National Theatre in London and broadcasting them live to cinemas all over the world via Satellite.
The first play is "Phedre" on the 25th June with Helen Mirren
This was the first time my work would be shown on the big screen and the first time anything I have shot has been transferred to 35mm film. I have yet to see it in print but soon I hope!
It was shot on the Sony EX3 with the Letus Ultimate and mostly Zeiss Nikon lenses. Lighting was with a mixture of Kino Flo Diva's and Dedos.
The voice over was done by the great John Shrapnel. The Helicopter shots were done on the F900. All shot 24p.

Theatre of War
Shot in Saddam Hussein's hilltop palace in the mountains overlooking the River Tigris, Theatre of War is a slow, virtually static video piece redolent of classical history painting. Audio was recorded at the official US military hand-over ceremony at the nearby city of Saniya. A mullah's prayer for unity among Arabs is spoken, after which the pan-Arab national anthem, Mawtini (My Homeland) is played, emphasizing Arab national solidarity and a pan-Arab territory. This film explores the defining aspects of Greek Theatre. The theatre of Ancient Greece flourished between 550 BC and 220 BC. A festival honouring the god Dionysus was held in Athens, out of which three dramatic genres emerged: tragedy, comedy and the satyr play.
Western theatre has its roots in the theatre of Ancient Greece and the plays that originated there. This collection features video about Greek theatre and productions of Greek plays staged at the National Theatre.
Featured in this film are experts Edith Hall, professor of Classics at Kings College, London, Laura Swift from the Open University, Dr Sean McElvoy from Varndean College, Brighton and actor Michael Grady-Hall from the cast of Antigone.
This film includes performance footage from the 2012 National Theatre production of Antigone, directed by Polly Findlay, starring Christopher Eccleston as Creon and Jodie Whittaker in the title role.
This film was made and directed by Chloe White for the National Theatre.

Shot in Saddam Hussein's hilltop palace in the mountains overlooking the River Tigris, Theatre of War is a slow, virtually static video piece redolent of classical history painting. Audio was recorded at the official US military hand-over ceremony at the nearby city of Saniya. A mullah's prayer for unity among Arabs is spoken, after which the pan-Arab national anthem, Mawtini (My Homeland) is played, emphasizing Arab national solidarity and a pan-Arab territory. Made in Iraq in March 2009.

Helene Alving has spent her life suspended in an emotional void after the death of her cruel but outwardly charming husband. She is determined to escape the ghosts of her past by telling her son, Oswald, the truth about his father.
But on his return from his life as a painter in France, Oswald reveals how he has already inherited the legacy of Alving’s dissolute life.
Founded in 2008, Dusthouse is a British film production company creating unique work for the international theatre and performing arts industries. Our distinctive visual style has evolved through a shared passion for live performance, film, sound design and music.
Dusthouse have been at the forefront of a new development within the world of theatre marketing. The 'theatre trailer' is a hugely powerful tool, raising the profile of a production whilst contributing greatly to increased ticket sales. Through contemporary marketing aimed at younger demographics Dusthouse are helping introduce new audiences to the wonderful world of live theatre, dance, circus and opera.

Last month I was hired by Director Mike Marriage of Lunarfilm.co.uk to DP a trailer for the big screen to be shown in movie theaters around the world.
NT LIVE is a groundbreaking concept of putting on plays at the National Theatre in London and broadcasting them live to cinemas all over the world via Satellite.
The first play is "Phedre" on the 25th June with Helen Mirren
This was the first time my work would be shown on the big screen and the first time anything I have shot has been transferred to 35mm film. I have yet to see it in print but soon I hope!
It was shot on the Sony EX3 with the Letus Ultimate and mostly Zeiss Nikon lenses. Lighting was with a mixture of Kino Flo Diva's and Dedos.
The voice over was done by the great John Shrapnel. The Helicopter shots were done on the F900. All shot 24p.
