The Crisis begun as, and has always been, the official magazine of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and was founded in 1910 by W. E. B. Du Bois (editor), Oswald Garrison Villard, J. Max Barber, Charles Edward Russell, Kelly Miller, W. S. Braithwaite, and M. D. Maclean.[2]The Crisis has been an influential magazine of record for African American readers since 1910, and is still in print today.
The Crisis has been, at various times during its 100+ year run, a periodical record of current events, a sounding-board for the opinions of African American social and political leaders, and a site of literature development and showcasing.
Beginnings and the DuBois era
The original title of the magazine was The Crisis: A Record of The Darker Races. From 1997 to 2003, it appeared as The New Crisis: The Magazine of Opportunities and Ideas, but the title has since reverted to The Crisis. The magazine’s name was supposedly inspired by James Russell Lowell’s 1844 poem, “The Present Crisis;” the suggestion to name the magazine after the poem supposedly came from noted white abolitionist Mary White Ovington, one of the NAACP co-founders.

The Legend of 1900 (Italian: La leggenda del pianista sull'oceano, The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean) is a 1998 Italian drama film directed by Giuseppe Tornatore and starring Tim Roth, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Mélanie Thierry. It was Tornatore's first English-language film. The film is inspired by Novecento, a monologue by Alessandro Baricco. The film was nominated for a variety of awards worldwide, winning several for its soundtrack.
The story is told in medias res as a series of flashbacks. Max Tooney, a musician, enters a secondhand music shop just before closing time, broke and badly in need of money. He has only a Conn trumpet, which he sells for less than he had hoped. Clearly torn at parting from his prized possession, he asks to play it one last time. The shopkeeper agrees, and as the musician plays, the shopkeeper immediately recognizes the song from a broken record matrix he found inside a recently acquired secondhand piano. He asks who the piece is by, and Max tells him the story of 1900.
Seven Pounds is a 2008 American drama film, directed by Gabriele Muccino, in which Will Smith stars as a man who sets out to change the lives of seven people. Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson, and Barry Pepper also star. The film was released in theaters in the United States and Canada on December 19, 2008, by Columbia Pictures. Despite generally negative reviews from critics it was a box office success, grossing $168,168,201 worldwide.
Tim Thomas (Will Smith), while carelessly sending a text message while driving, veers across the center line into oncoming traffic and causes a multi-car crash in which seven people die: six strangers and his fiancée, Sarah Jenson (Robinne Lee).
Two years later, in a bid for atonement, Tim sets out to save the lives of seven good people by donating his own vital organs, a process that will be completed after his planned suicide. A year after the crash, having quit his job as an aeronautical engineer, Tim donates a lung lobe to his brother Ben (Michael Ealy), an IRS field agent. He steals his brother's federal IRS identification badge and credentials, puts his picture over Ben's, identifies himself by his brother's name, and uses Ben's privileges to check out the financial backgrounds of further potential candidates for his donations. In each case he "interviews" them first to determine if they are good people.

My cover of The Crisis by Ennio Morricone as featured in The Legend of 1900 and Seven Pounds. If you're not already familiar with this piece, you may think it sounds 'off' at first, but the dissonance is intentional. The clashing minor/major 3rd is said to represent both sadness and happiness, and in this case you'll realise that it is fittingly beautiful and Morricone is a genius! After recording the piano part I overdubbed the strings in Ableton Live. If you like it, please comment, rate and subscribe! :)

It's been a week since one of the worst diplomatic disputes in the Gulf region began. And there have been developments almost every hour. The Qatari foreign minister has been on a diplomatic tour in Europe. He was in London earlier on Monday then Paris to meet his counterparts. President Donald Trump initially took to twitter to support the embargo, but then called the Emir of Qatar days later offering to mediate, only to criticise the Gulf nation at a News Conference on Friday. But that same day, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, was urging the GCC countries to find a diplomatic solution. So, what will it take to end the crisis? Walking in stillness
Spirits move beyond the flesh
Tortured soul in a cage of flesh
Meant to be broken
Running from the truth will set you free,
To see the real life,
Deaf to the voice of the spirit that sets you free
To see the crisis,
These eyes see life through death
