The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), doesn’t approve of filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava’s Lipstick Under My Burkha. The film, which has been awarded the Oxfam Award for Best Film on Gender Equality and has been selected for several international film festivals, unfortunately doesn’t meet the CBFC’s standards of a film that can be watched by us Indians.
The ban hasn’t gone down well with Bollywood who reacted strongly against the decision of CBFC.

Shah Rukh and Anushka starrer ‘Jab Harry met Sejal’ has entered into ‘sanskari’ CBFC’s bad books. And the reason behind Nihalani's objection is… INTERCOURSE
The word intercourse has been used in the Mini Trailer 2 where Anushka used the word to SRK.
While speaking to a leading daily, CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani said, “We've granted a U/A certification to the trailer on condition of deletion of the intercourse dialogue.”
However, ‘Jab Harry met Sejal’ makers have considered the entire matter as a non-issue, " The promo where word 'intercourse' has been mentioned, was released only on the internet not on TV and theatres, and there is no censorship there. So, we have not broken any law."
Well, don’t you think it’s high time that CBFC radar should raise its bar.

After objecting to the word ‘intercourse’ in the second trailer of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s ‘Jab Harry met Sejal’, looks like ‘sanskari’ CBFC has given the good news to the makers.
Setting up a condition to clear the use of the word in the film, while speaking to a leading daily, CBFC chairperson, Pahlaj Nihalani said, “You take voting from the public and I will clear the word ‘intercourse’ on the promo and the film also. I want 1 lakh votes and I want to see that India has changed and Indian families want their 12-year-old kids to understand the meaning of this word.”
Although the condition seems to be absurd, but looks like it won’t be much difficult for the makers.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is at it once again, after refusing to certify Lipstick Under My Burkha, the board has denied certification to Malyalam film ‘Ka Bodyscapes’.
The CBFC has said that it glorifies the subject of gay and homosexual relationship and portrayed the Hindu religion in a derogatory manner by showing Hanuman ‘in poor light as gay’. It also objected to the portrayal of a Muslim woman masturbating.
While posting the CBFC order on social networking website Facebook, director of the film, Jayan Cherian wrote, “It is official, Mr Pahlaj Nihalani put the final nail in my coffin.”
The movie which stars Adhithi, Tinto Arayani and Arunshati is about three young people in Calicut Haris, a gay painter; Vishnu, a rural kabaddi player, and their friend Sia and their struggle to find space and happiness in a conservative Indian city.

Pahlaj Nihalani
Pahlaj Nihalani is the present head of the Central Board of Film Certification of India. He is a film producer. He was also the President of the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers for 29 years until 2009. He is known as the producer of the films such as Shola Aur Shabnam and Aankhen.
Prior to the Indian general election, 2014, he had also produced the YouTube video "Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi" supporting BJP candidate Narendra Modi. In November 2015, he produced another video paying tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, entitled "Mera Desh hai Mahaan".
Career
Nihalani produced his first film in 1982, it was Haathkadi. His second film was Aandhi-Toofan in 1985. His next film, Ilzaam in 1986, is notable for being actor Govinda's debut. His film, Aag Hi Aag in 1987, also served as the debut for Chunky Pandey. He then went on to produce Gunahon Ka Faisla in 1987, and Paap Ki Duniya in 1988. In 1989, the film Mitti Aur Sona, starring Chunky Pandey and Neelam Kothari, was considered a box office success. The Shola Aur Shabnam released in 1992, starring Govinda and Divya Bharti, was considered a huge box office hit. In 1993, Aankhen, produced by him, was also a big box office hit.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is at it once again, after refusing to certify Lipstick Under My Burkha, the board has denied certification to Malyalam film ‘Ka Bodyscapes’. While speaking to a leading daily, CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani said, “We've granted a U/A certification to the trailer on condition of deletion of the intercourse dialogue.”
However, ‘Jab Harry met Sejal’ makers have considered the entire matter as a non-issue, " The promo where word 'intercourse' has been mentioned, was released only on the internet not on TV and theatres, and there is no censorship there. So, we have not broken any law."
