The Blessed Mother is a tower of strength for us. St. John Vianney: "Struggles put us at the foot of the Cross, and the Cross at the gate of heaven" and we will find Mary both at the foot of the Cross and at the Gate of Heaven. Both repentance AND perseverence are necessary for salvation. After confession, be prepared to fight battles against temptation. A consideration by St. Alphonsus Liguori of the spiritual challenges faced by relapsing sinners. A reflection on Sampson and the folley of thinking we will always have recourse to confession after falling into sin. Review the battle plan for overcoming habitual sin. Our Lady of Sorrows
Our Lady of Sorrows (Latin: Beata Maria Virgo Perdolens), the Sorrowful Mother or Mother of Sorrows (Latin: Mater Dolorosa), and Our Lady of Piety, Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows or Our Lady of the Seven Dolours are names by which the Blessed Virgin Mary is referred to in relation to sorrows in her life. As Mater Dolorosa, it is also a key subject for Marian art in the Catholic Church.
The Seven Sorrows of Mary are a popular Roman Catholic devotion. In common religious Catholic imagery, the Blessed Virgin Mary is portrayed in a sorrowful and lacrimating affect, with seven daggers piercing her heart, often bleeding. Devotional prayers that consist of meditation began to elaborate on her Seven Sorrows based on the prophecy of Simeon. Common examples of piety under this title are Servite rosary, or the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady and the Seven Joys of Mary and more recently, "Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary".
The feast of Our Lady of Sorrows is liturgically celebrated each 15 of September, while a feast of Friday of Sorrows is observed in some Catholic countries.

Saint Bernard: "Our Lady's sufferings amount to more than all of the suffering of all of the rest of the Saints combined." The dead boy in the Gospel reading is symbolic of a soul in moral sin and a public sinner at that (the whole town was there to see him dead). Both repentance AND perseverence are necessary for salvation. After confession, be prepared to fight battles against temptation. Revolution 1979 doesn't stand out in terms of gameplay - it's clunky, in fact - but it may have figured out how to make a documentary game. It's a Telltale-esque game about choice and storylines, but it's set during the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Unlike many games where the setting is just window dressing, in this case, the setting is the game and the entire focus and point of its narrative. It casts the player as a photo journalist who returns home to visit family in Iran right before the fateful events of the revolution begin. Because this is a documentary, you can't actually change the course of events, but Revolution 1979 allows the player to maintain agency: in your minor role as a photographer, you have a reason to be on the scene of major occurrences, but you are neither one of the main historical characters nor the typical video game superhero come to save the day. Instead, you focus on the small choices that relate to yourself and your family. This allows the player to experience firsthand the culture that is being affected by these events and develop an emotional connection with the people of Iran. Previously, there have been educational games (or edutainment) that attempted to tell history, but the player's role is too often that of a static learner. Revolution 1979 might crack the code for how to make a good video game documentary, and it does so through the narrative choice of who the player will be, leaving the door wide open for other developers to make documentary games that build off that narrative choice and alter or improve the mechanics to fit a variety of situations.

Revolution 1979 cracks the code of how to make games function as documentaries, showing how we can educate players about a real world topic and let them experience it without locking them into a passive role. By casting the player as a minor participant, rather than a traditional game hero, this game makes the events personal and retains their agency without asking them to change the course of history. Revolution 1979 doesn't stand out in terms of gameplay - it's clunky, in fact - but it may have figured out how to make a documentary game. It's a Telltale-esque game about choice and storylines, but it's set during the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Unlike many games where the setting is just window dressing, in this case, the setting is the game and the entire focus and point of its narrative. It casts the player as a photo journalist who returns home to visit family in Iran right before the fateful events of the revolution begin. Because this is a documentary, you can't actually change the course of events, but Revolution 1979 allows the player to maintain agency: in your minor role as a photographer, you have a reason to be on the scene of major occurrences, but you are neither one of the main historical characters nor the typical video game superhero come to save the day. Instead, you focus on the small choices that relate to yourself and your family. This allows the player to experience firsthand the culture that is being affected by these events and develop an emotional connection with the people of Iran. Previously, there have been educational games (or edutainment) that attempted to tell history, but the player's role is too often that of a static learner. Revolution 1979 might crack the code for how to make a good video game documentary, and it does so through the narrative choice of who the player will be, leaving the door wide open for other developers to make documentary games that build off that narrative choice and alter or improve the mechanics to fit a variety of situations.

We haven’t even reached the All-Star break, yet the Chicago White Sox have already done something no other MLB team has been able to accomplish since the Boston Red Sox and Oakland A’s back in 1979. In a span of 86 games, the White Sox have turned not one, not two, but three triple plays, with the latest coming during Friday’s wild 11-8 loss to the Atlanta Braves ... Friday’s triple play probably met those two somewhere in the middle....
