Barats and Bereta

Barats and Bereta is a web-based sketch comedy duo consisting of Luke Pierre Barats and Joseph Daniel Bereta. Formed in 2003, the duo originally made videos to amuse friends, often combining real and fictional acts. They met when both were students of Gonzaga University. These videos eventually made it onto their website and onto YouTube. Their viral videos have also earned them the description of an Internet phenomenon. They currently have over 413,000 subscribers on YouTube. Views of videos released in 2006 have topped over ten million and more recent videos have an average of 200,000 views. Both have portrayed characters on the popular YouTube web series The Annoying Orange.

NBC signed them for a one-year deal in 2006. "This is Culdesac", the sketch comedy pilot they produced, directed, wrote, edited, and acted in under contract, was not picked up by NBC. However their next television project was being a more traditional sitcom. The pilot did not result in the series airing.

Matthew Bryan

Matthew Bryan otherwise Brian (died 10 March 1699) was an English clergyman, non-juror and Jacobite preacher.

Life

Bryan was the son of Robert Bryan of Limington, Somerset, sometime minister of St. Mary's, Newington, Surrey, and was born at Limington. He became a semi-commoner of Magdalen Hall, Oxford, in 1665, but left the university without taking a degree. After holding a benefice in the diocese of Bath and Wells for about ten years, he was appointed to his father's old living, St. Mary's, Newington, and to the afternoon lectureship at St. Michael's, Crooked Lane.

His living was sequestered for debt in 1684. A sermon preached by him at Newington and at St. Michael's (26 October and 2 November of the same year) on 2 Corinthians 5:11 was said to contain reflections on the King's courts of justice, and an accusation was laid against him before the Dean of Arches. In order to vindicate himself he printed this sermon, which certainly does not appear to contain any such reflections, with a dedication, dated 10 December 1684, to Dr. Peter Mews, bishop of Winchester, formerly his diocesan in Somerset. The archbishop was satisfied that the charge against him was groundless, and it was quashed accordingly.

Executive producer

An executive producer (EP) enables the making of a commercial entertainment product. The EP may be concerned with management accounting and/or with associated legal issues (like copyrights or royalties). An EP generally contributes to the film's budget and may or may not work on set.

Motion pictures

In motion pictures, an executive producer oversees the filmmaking with regard to film finance. Executive producers liaise with the line producer and report to production companies and distributors.

Television

In television, an executive producer often supervises the creative content as well as the financial aspects of a production. Some writers (for example Stephen J. Cannell and Tina Fey) have been the creator and also the producer of the same TV show. Other dual roles may include the executive director(s) starring in the show they produce, such as Full Throttle Saloon reality TV star, Jesse James Dupree. Still other shows may have more than one executive producer working on a TV show where there can be one among them who outranks the others. This position is known as the "showrunner," or operational executive producer.

Michael Rainey

Michael Sean O'Dare Rainey is a British fashion designer, best known for his 1960s London boutique, Hung On You.

Early life

He is the son of Sean Rainey and Joyce Marion Wallace (1923-2006), better known as Marion Wrottesley, after her later marriage to Lord Wrottesley.

Career

In December 1965, Rainey together with his then wife Jane Ormsby Gore opened the fashion boutique Hung On You, at 22 Cale Street, London, with a mural by Michael English. Rainey had no previous experience in the fashion business or in retailing, and instead was inspired by his well-dressed friends including his wife's brother Julian Ormsby Gore, and the antique dealer Christopher Gibbs. The decor and tailoring were somewhat similar to Nigel Waymouth and Sheila Cohen's Granny Takes a Trip, which opened three months later in February 1966. His wife Jane Ormsby Gore had been making regular visits to India, looking for fabrics, so there was also an oriental accent to the clothes, as well as a repurposing and reuse of vintage garments and designs.
