This is a list of interior design schools at colleges and universities in the world.
Delft University of Technology (Dutch: Technische Universiteit Delft [ˈtɛxnisə ˌynivɛrsiˈtɛi̯t ˈdɛl(ə)ft]), also known as TU Delft, is the largest and oldest Dutch public technological university, located in Delft, Netherlands. With eight faculties and numerous research institutes it hosts over 19,000 students (undergraduate and postgraduate), more than 3,300 scientists and more than 2,200 people in the support and management staff.
The university was established on 8 January 1842 by King William II of the Netherlands as a Royal Academy, with the main purpose of training civil servants for the Dutch East Indies. The school rapidly expanded its research and education curriculum, becoming first a Polytechnic School in 1864, Institute of Technology in 1905, gaining full university rights, and finally changing its name to Delft University of Technology in 1986.
Dutch Nobel laureates Jacobus Henricus van 't Hoff, Heike Kamerlingh Onnes, and Simon van der Meer have been associated with TU Delft. TU Delft is a member of several university federations including the IDEA League, CESAER, UNITECH, and 3TU.
In social science, the term built environment refers to the human-made surroundings that provide the setting for human activity, ranging in scale from buildings and parks or green space to neighborhoods and cities that can often include their supporting infrastructure, such as water supply or energy networks. The built environment is a material, spatial and cultural product of human labor that combines physical elements and energy in forms for living, working and playing. It has been defined as "the human-made space in which people live, work, and recreate on a day-to-day basis." The "built environment encompasses places and spaces created or modified by people including buildings, parks, and transportation systems." In recent years, public health research has expanded the definition of "built environment" to include healthy food access, community gardens, "walkability" and "bikability."
Early concepts of built environment date to Classical Antiquity: Hippodamus of Miletos, known as the "father of urban planning," developed Greek cities from 498 BC to 408 BC that created order by using grid plans that mapped the city. These early city plans eventually gave way to the City Beautiful movement in the late 1800s and early 1900s, inspired by Daniel Hudson Burnham, a reformist for the Progressivism movement who actively promoted "a reform of the landscape in tandem with political change." The effort was in partnership with others who believed that beautifying American cities would improve the moral compass of the cities and encourage the upper class to spend their money in cities. This beautification process included parks and architectural design.

Toshiaki Ban - Architect In 1945, Toshiaki Ban was born in Yamaguchi, Japan. After the graduation from the University of Osaka, faculty of engineering, Ban cofounded an architectural firm "Goudou Kensetsu" which is now called "VANS." Ban tries to build buildings through understanding the users. In addition, he works on practicing "Folk Architecture." Ban has built various kinds of buildings such as dwelling houses, commercial buildings, nurseries, and welfare facilities. Among others, he has built more than 20 buildings co-operatives. Ban advocates the change of architectural culture by estimating and verifying both "inner purpose (communicating with users)" and "external purpose (harmony with the environment)" so that they can break away from "Symbolic Architecture" that has lost the...

Lecture date: 2017-05-11 The continuous use of certain specific motifs defines an architectural vocabulary, a particular language. This lecture will address FALA’s tropes. FALA is a naïve architecture practice based in Oporto, led by Filipe Magalhães, Ana Luisa Soares and Ahmed Belkhodja. Established in 2013, the atelier works with methodical optimism on a wide range of projects, from territories to birdhouses. FALA’s projects are a medley of formal languages, references, quotations, and themes, only regulated by an obsession for clarity; its architecture is both hedonistic and post-modern, intuitive and rhetorical. Filipe Magalhães (porto, 1987) graduated in architecture at Faculdade de Arquitectura do Porto and Fakulteta za Arhitekturo in Ljubljana; with a thesis titled ‘between the a...
