Samsung Galaxy Tab series

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a line of upper mid-range Android-based tablet computers produced by Samsung Electronics. It is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note series except without the Samsung S-Pen. The first model in the series, the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, was first introduced on 2 September 2010 at the IFA in Berlin. Since then there have been several models released, including models with 7.7, 8.9 and 10.1-inch displays. The Wi-Fi versions of the tablet all include a GPS system whilst the 3G/4G tablets include cellular capability as well.

Galaxy Tab / Galaxy Tab 7.0

The original Galaxy Tab (which was renamed as the Galaxy Tab 7.0 with the release of the 7.7, 8.9, and 10.1) was introduced on 2 September 2010 - at the IFA in Berlin. The Galaxy Tab was the first Android-powered tablet to be released. It has a single core 1 GHz Exynos processor, and a 7-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Its operating system is based on Android 2.2 Froyo with some custom skins and applications. Most Android 2.2 apps developed using Google's guidelines for Android should scale properly when displayed on larger-screen devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, according to Samsung. In May 2011 it was reported that Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 was being made available in Italy, with other regions expected to follow. Several updates have been made throughout the world and in February, 2012, Android version Gingerbread 2.3.6 is available.

Samsung Galaxy

Samsung Galaxy (stylized as Samsung GALAXY or SAMSUNG Galaxy) is a series of mobile computing devices designed, manufactured and marketed by Samsung Electronics. The product line includes the Galaxy S series of high-end smartphones, the Galaxy Tab series of tablets, the Galaxy Note series of tablets and phablets with the added functionality of a stylus and the first version of the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, with later versions dropping the Galaxy branding.

Samsung Galaxy devices have traditionally used the Android operating system produced by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google, usually with a custom user interface called TouchWiz. This tradition was broken at CES 2016 with the announcement of the first Galaxy-branded Windows 10 device, the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S.

Galaxy

A galaxy is a gravitationally bound system of stars, stellar remnants, interstellar gas, dust, and dark matter. The word galaxy is derived from the Greek galaxias (γαλαξίας), literally "milky", a reference to the Milky Way. Galaxies range in size from dwarfs with just a few thousand (10³) stars to giants with one hundred trillion (10¹⁴) stars, each orbiting their galaxy's own center of mass. Galaxies, are categorized according to their visual morphology, including elliptical,spiral, and irregular. Many galaxies are thought to have black holes at their active centers. The Milky Way's central black hole, known as Sagittarius A*, has a mass four million times greater than the Sun. As of July 2015, EGSY8p7 is the oldest and most distant observed galaxy with a light travel distance of 13.2 billion light-years from Earth, and observed as it existed 570 million years after the Big Bang. Previously, as of May 2015, EGS-zs8-1 was the most distant known galaxy, estimated to have a light travel distance of 13.1 billion light-years away and to have 15% of the mass of the Milky Way.

Samsung (Hangul: 삼성; hanja: 三星; Korean pronunciation: [sʰamsʰʌŋ]) is a South Korean multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul. It comprises numerous subsidiaries and affiliated businesses, most of them united under the Samsung brand, and is the largest South Korean chaebol (business conglomerate).

Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as a trading company. Over the next three decades, the group diversified into areas including food processing, textiles, insurance, securities and retail. Samsung entered the electronics industry in the late 1960s and the construction and shipbuilding industries in the mid-1970s; these areas would drive its subsequent growth. Following Lee's death in 1987, Samsung was separated into four business groups – Samsung Group, Shinsegae Group, CJ Group and Hansol Group. Since 1990s, Samsung has increasingly globalized its activities and electronics, particularly mobile phones and semiconductors, have become its most important source of income.

Samsung Galaxy Note series

Samsung Galaxy Note is a series of Android-based high-end smartphones and high-end tablets developed and marketed by Samsung Electronics. The line is primarily oriented towards pen computing; all Galaxy Note models ship with a stylus pen and incorporate a pressure-sensitive Wacom digitizer. All Galaxy Note models also include software features that are oriented towards the stylus and the devices' large screens, such as note-taking and digital scrapbooking apps, and split-screen multitasking.

The Galaxy Note smartphones have been considered the first commercially successful examples of "phablets"—a class of smartphone with large screens that are intended to straddle the functionality of a traditional tablet with that of a phone. Samsung sold over 50 million Galaxy Note devices between September 2011 and October 2013. 10 million units of the Galaxy Note 3 have been sold within its first 2 months, 30 million were of the Note II, while the original Galaxy Note sold around 10 million units worldwide.
