Arashiyama (嵐山, Storm Mountain) is a district on the western outskirts of Kyoto, Japan. It also refers to the mountain across the Ōi River, which forms a backdrop to the district. Arashiyama is a nationally designated Historic Site and Place of Scenic Beauty.
Kyoto (京都市, Kyōto-shi, pronounced [kʲjoːꜜto.ɕi]; UK /kɪˈoʊtoʊ/, US /kiˈoʊ-/, or /ˈkjoʊ-/) is a city located in the central part of the island of Honshu, Japan. It has a population close to 1.5 million. Formerly the Imperial capital of Japan for more than one thousand years, it is now the capital city of Kyoto Prefecture located in the Kansai region, as well as a major part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area. Kyoto is also known as the thousand-year capital.
In Japanese, the city has been called Kyō (京), Miyako (都), or Kyō no Miyako (京の都). In the 11th century, the city was renamed Kyoto ("capital city"), after the Chinese word for capital city, jingdu (京都). After the city of Edo was renamed Tokyo (meaning "Eastern Capital") in 1868, and the seat of the Emperor was transferred there, Kyoto was known for a short time as Saikyō (西京, meaning "Western Capital").
Obsolete spellings for the city's name include Kioto and Meaco. Another term commonly used to refer to the city in the pre-modern period was Keishi (京師), meaning "metropolis" or "capital".
Bamboo Forest is a tourist site in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. On CNN, it was referred to as One of the most beautiful groves on Earth. The Ministry of the Environment included the Sagano Bamboo Forest on its list of "100 Soundscapes of Japan".
Directly outside the forest is Tenryū-ji Temple, which is the location of Rinzai School headquarters.Ōkōchi Sansō, the former home of Denjirō Ōkōchi, is located at the other end of the forest.

Japan (i/dʒəˈpæn/; Japanese: 日本 Nippon [nip̚põ̞ɴ] or Nihon [nihõ̞ɴ]; formally 日本国 Nippon-koku or Nihon-koku, "State of Japan") is an island country in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean, it lies to the east of the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, China, North Korea, South Korea and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and Taiwan in the south. The kanji that make up Japan's name mean "sun origin", and Japan is often called the "Land of the Rising Sun".
Japan is a stratovolcanic archipelago of 6,852 islands. The four largest are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, which make up about ninety-seven percent of Japan's land area. Japan's population of 126 million is the world's tenth largest. Approximately 9.1 million people live in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, which is the sixth largest city proper in the OECD. The Greater Tokyo Area, which includes Tokyo and several surrounding prefectures, is the world's largest metropolitan area with over 35 million residents and the world's largest urban agglomeration economy.

"Sagano Romantic Train" operated by Sagano Scenic Railway (嵯峨野観光鉄道) (wholly owned subsidiary of Japan Railways West). This ride from Saga Arashiyama (トロッコ嵯峨駅) to Kameoka (トロッコ亀岡駅) Town (further west of Arashiyama) is deemed as the most scenic ride in the entire Japan. This track was once used as a backup to another JR line but since it was decommissioned as a regular train traffic, it has been revitalized as a scenic ride for the visitors to Arashiyama (嵐山). The whole ride goes right next to Hozu River and consists of beautiful views of mountains, gorges, old bridges and of course the foliage. The stations on this ride are called "Torokko (トロッコ)", which means Truck in Japanese because this track was once used by the mining trucks. So the ride goes from "Torokko Saga Station (トロッコ嵯...

Everyone I met who has been to Kyoto, always said 'Did you visit the Bamboo forest when you where there (in 2005) and my response was a sad no. This time though, I wasn't going to miss it and all the things people say about it, well its true. Its magical. Remember Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, the scene where the characters are elegantly jumping from one bamboo to another? Well you really believe that could happen when looking up and seeing the glimmering light of the sun trying to pierce through. artist: cfcf song: exercise #1 Location: Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo Canon 5DMK2 Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye mounted on a tripod Prints available from www.m24instudiophotography.com www.m24instudio.com flickr.com/photos/moon24 500px.com/m24instudio

Chotto: A Moment in Japan is a short video about the pace and rhythm of life in Japan. No doubt that Japan is the most technologically advanced nation in Asia and maybe the whole world, but the Japanese still maintain their culture, traditions, and beliefs. They are very courteous, respectful, and mindful of other people. Chotto: A Moment in Japan was filmed primarily in the Kyoto area, as well as in several other locations in Tokyo, Osaka, Nara and Nagoya. The footages were taken during the spring season, April 2013, and need 10 days to capture it. Kyoto: Fushimi Inari Shrine, Gion area, Sagano Bamboo Forest, Arashiyama, Iwatayama Monkey Park, Kamogawa River, Nara Park, Kiyomizudera Temple, Kawaramachi area, Kyoto Station Tokyo: Tokyo Sky Tree, Shibuya Crosswalk, Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo...
Filmed over a week in Kyoto and its surrounding areas. I''ve been to Kyoto many times before and always wanted to capture the beauty of its atmosphere. The place has an mysterious feeling, with ancient temples and tranquil forests. Scenes include the Golden Pavilion Temple, Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu Temple, Gion, Ryoanji, Todaiji, and Arashiyama. We also made trips out to nearby Osaka, Nara, and Koyasan. Especially in the winter, the snow was beautiful in the Mount Koya world-heritage. Subscribe for video updates! Arashiyama, located on the outskirts of #Kyoto, is one of the most popular tourist scenic areas. I was blown away at how this place perfectly merged Japanese culture, nature and food into one. Everything here from the scenery to the aroma is sensational. It's as if you travel back in time with the setting being good ole Japanese country town. Just a 20 minute train ride away, #Arashiyama is certainly a must visit outside the city of Kyoto. My Momma talk to me,
Try to tell me how to live

He caught me in the bathroom,
with a pair of pantyhose
My basketball coach,

For wearing high heels sneakers,
and acting like a queen
Gonna tie my pecker to a tree to a tree
Gonna tie my pecker to a tree to a tree
Gonna tie his pecker to a tree
Get your boogie off

The world is coming to an end and I dont give a dam
As long as I have my bitch
