Remote Neural Monitoring is a form of functional neuro imaging, developed by the National Security Agency (NSA), that is capable of extracting EEG data from the human brain at a distance with no contacts required. It is further claimed that the NSA has the capability to decode this data to extract subvocalizations, visual and auditory data. In effect it allows access to a person's thoughts without their knowledge or permission. It has been alleged that various organizations have been using Remote Neural Monitoring on US and other citizens for surveillance and harassment purposes. NSA’s RNM remotely reads the evoked potentials (EEGs) of the human brain for tracking individuals and can send messages through the nervous system to affect their performance. RNM can electronically identify individuals and track them anywhere. This equipment is on a network and is used for domestic intelligence operations, government security, and military base security, and for bioelectric warfare. The NSA warrantless surveillance controversy concerns surveillance of persons incident to the collection of foreign intelligence by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) as part of the war on terror. EEG can mean: Electroencephalography - the method and science of recording and interpreting traces of brain electrical activity as recorded from the skull surface.
