A scientist is a person engaging in a systematic activity to acquire knowledge. In a more restricted sense, a scientist may refer to an individual who uses the scientific method. The person may be an expert in one or more areas of science. This article focuses on the more restricted use of the word. Scientists perform research toward a more comprehensive understanding of nature, including physical, mathematical and social realms.
Philosophy is a distinct activity that is not generally considered science. Philosophers aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of intangible aspects of reality and experience that cannot be physically measured.
Scientists are also distinct from engineers, those who design, build, and maintain devices for particular situations; however, no engineer attains that title without significant study of science and the scientific method. When science is done with a goal toward practical utility, it is called applied science. An applied scientist may not be designing something in particular, but rather is conducting research with the aim of developing new technologies and practical methods. When science is done with an inclusion of intangible aspects of reality it is called natural philosophy.
The Scientist is a professional magazine intended for life scientists. Coverage includes reviews of widely noticed research papers, informing its audience of current research, updates to technology, updates to career information, profiles of scientists achieving notoriety, as well as other columns and reports of interest to its audience.

The magazine has been published monthly since 1986 and is available in print and online through personal or institutional subscription. The Scientist was published by the Faculty of 1000 until October 2011. The Group officially acquired the magazine at the end of October 2011.
The Scientist was founded by Eugene Garfield. Its aim is to provide print and online coverage of the latest developments in life sciences research, technology, and business. Subject matter covered by the journal includes:

An international team of scientists have finally explored where no other human has gone before — into the ocean abyss off Australia's eastern coast. The month-long expedition was sponsored by Museums Victoria and a government research organization, and it did not disappoint. The scientists discovered monstrous creatures in the depths, 2.5 miles below the ocean surface. Many of which were new discoveries. Here's some of what they found. Researchers at the University of Florida are developing a climate change-ready “Brangus” cow. By crossing Angus and Brahman breeds, scientists aim to create the “cow of the future”—a more heat-tolerant animal that can better adapt to global warming. According to UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences researchers, more than half of the world’s cattle population—including about 40 percent of cows in the US—live in hot, humid environments. https://www.geek.com/science/scientists-breed-heat-resistant-cow-of-the-future-1705505/?source http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

You shoulda made me a drunkard
Shoulda made me a liar
Made me a preacher
With a head full of fire
You coulda made me a gambler
Coulda made me a thief
Made me a salesman
Pockets full of receipts
But I chose water over wine
Jars of formaldehyde
Think of all the things I missed
Why'd you make me a scientist
Is this the best you've got
I'm not impressed
Anything you can do
I'll equate and project
I chose water over wine
Jars of formaldehyde
Think of everything I missed
