Robert Daws (born 4 May 1959) is an English stage and television actor.
Born in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, Daws appeared in the 1982 stage play On Your Way, Riley! with Brian Murphy and Maureen Lipman. He played Tuppy Glossop in the early 1990s version of Jeeves and Wooster. He played pompous cricket captain Roger Dervish alongside Brenda Blethyn in the ITV comedy drama Outside Edge 1994–96, for which he was nominated for Best Comedy Actor at the British Comedy Awards. He has also appeared in a number of one-off dramas including the 1997 BBC drama, The Missing Postman. In 1996 he starred in a pilot of what would become Roger Roger, a comedy drama which ran until 2003. Daws starred as Sam, the co-owner of Cresta Cabs.
Daws plays the trumpet, as evidenced when in 1994 he appeared as a guest in the final episode of the BBC comedy series A Bit of Fry and Laurie (series four) and played over the credits, accompanied by Hugh Laurie on the piano.
Daws appeared as Dr. Gordon Ormerod in the long-running ITV drama series The Royal, which ended its run in July 2011, the last scenes of which showed Ormerod fighting for his life after an attack at the hospital.
The name Robert is a Germanic given name, from Proto-Germanic *χrōþi- "fame" and *berχta- "bright". Compare Old Dutch Robrecht and Old High German Hrodebert (a compound of hruod "fame, glory" and berht "bright"). It is also in use as a surname.
After becoming widely used in Continental Europe it entered England in its Old French form Robert, where an Old English cognate form (Hrēodbēorht, Hrodberht, Hrēodbēorð, Hrœdbœrð, Hrœdberð) had existed before the Norman Conquest. The feminine version is Roberta. The Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish form is Roberto.
Similar to the name, Richard, "Robert" is also a common name in many Germanic languages, including English, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Icelandic. It can be used as a French, Hungarian, Finnish, and Estonian name as well.
Robert, and also the name Joseph, were in the top 10 most given boys' names in the US for 47 years, from 1925 to 1972.
In Italy during the Second World War, the form of the name, Roberto, briefly acquired a new meaning derived from, and referring to the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis.

The 1986 Granada Television sketch show Robbins featured her brother Ted Robbins and sisters Jane, Emma and Kate Robbins, along with herself guest appearing in various episodes.
Before landing her role as Dr Jill Weatherill in The Royal, Robbins played a recurring character, Police Sergeant Rachel James in the BBC One hospital drama Casualty for one series.
Robbins also appeared in the TV film Strange Relations playing the part of Maureen.
She played Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers, from 1 August 2011 to the end of January 2012, at the Phoenix Theatre, London.

A few months ago, when Grammy winner Jacquire King (Kings Of Leon, James Bay, Mutemath) told me he was transitioning to mixing all in the box, I knew I had to get him to share his approach with you. Last week he graciously sat down with me to talk in detail about his mixing approach and philosophy, specifically how he starts a mix when working in the box. In this action packed interview Jacquire walks you through his mix buss approach, a secret trick he uses to gain stage and get the low end of his mix perfect, as well as his approach to recording music so that the mix comes together faster. Watch, pay attention, and take notes. Your music will thank you for it later.
