The mass media is a diversified collection of media technologies that reach a large audience via mass communication. The technologies through which this communication takes place include a variety of outlets.
Broadcast media transmit information electronically, via such media as film, radio, recorded music, or television. Digital media comprises both Internet and mobile mass communication. Internet media comprise such services as email, social media sites, websites, and Internet-based radio and television. Many other mass media outlets have an additional presence on the web, by such means as linking to or running TV ads online, or distributing QR Codes in outdoor or print media to direct mobile users to a website. In this way, they can utilise the easy accessibility and outreach capabilities the Internet affords, as thereby easily broadcast information throughout many different regions of the world simultaneously and cost-efficiently. Outdoor media transmit information via such media as AR advertising; billboards; blimps; flying billboards (signs in tow of airplanes); placards or kiosks placed inside and outside of buses, commercial buildings, shops, sports stadiums, subway cars, or trains; signs; or skywriting.Print media transmit information via physical objects, such as books, comics, magazines, newspapers, or pamphlets.Event organizing and public speaking can also be considered forms of mass media.
Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan with the aim of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. The organization produces short lectures in the form of YouTube videos. In addition to micro lectures, the organization's website features practice exercises and tools for educators. All resources are available for free to anyone around the world. The main language of the website is English, but the content is also available in other languages.
The founder of the organization, Salman Khan, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States to immigrant parents from Bangladesh and India. After earning three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (a BS in mathematics, a BS in electrical engineering and computer science, and an MEng in electrical engineering and computer science), he pursued an MBA from Harvard Business School.
In late 2004, Khan began tutoring his cousin Nadia who needed help with math using Yahoo!'s Doodle notepad. When other relatives and friends sought similar help, he decided that it would be more practical to distribute the tutorials on YouTube. The videos' popularity and the testimonials of appreciative students prompted Khan to quit his job in finance as a hedge fund analyst at Connective Capital Management in 2009, and focus on the tutorials (then released under the moniker "Khan Academy") full-time.
In physics, mass is a property of a physical body. It is generally a measure of an object's resistance to changing its state of motion when a force is applied. It is determined by the strength of its mutual gravitational attraction to other bodies, its resistance to being accelerated by a force, and in the theory of relativity gives the mass–energy content of a system. The SI unit of mass is the kilogram (kg).
Mass is not the same as weight, even though we often calculate an object's mass by measuring its weight with a spring scale instead of comparing it to known masses. An object on the Moon would weigh less than it would on Earth because of the lower gravity, but it would still have the same mass.
For everyday objects and energies well-described by Newtonian physics, mass describes the amount of matter in an object. However, at very high speeds or for subatomic particles, special relativity shows that energy is an additional source of mass. Thus, any stationary body having mass has an equivalent amount of energy, and all forms of energy resist acceleration by a force and have gravitational attraction.
John Jeffrey Finley (born April 14, 1967) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and current assistant coach for the WHL Kelowna Rockets.
Finley was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 3rd round, 55th overall in the 1985 NHL Draft. He made his debut with the Islanders during 1987–1988 season, where he scored 5 assists in 10 games. Finley would bounce between the Islanders and the minors until the 1993–1994 season. In the next 4 years he would play with the Philadelphia Flyers, Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, and New York Rangers, along with a number of minor league affiliates.
Finley finally got the break he needed when he was traded to the St. Louis Blues during the 1998–1999 season. Under coach Joel Quenneville he earned a spot on the Blues roster as a defensive specialist and remained there until the 2003–2004 season. For the 2005–2006 season Finley played overseas in Germany for the Hannover Scorpions.
In 708 career games in the NHL, Finley scored 13 goals and 70 assists for 83 points.
Creation Fest is a free Christian music festival, which takes place on the first weekend of August in the Royal Cornwall Showground, Cornwall England.
The California-based Calvary Chapel established a church 'plant' (a new congregation) in Woolacombe, North Devon, in 2000. The following year the church members were given a vision to put on a Christian music festival, and Creation Fest was born.
The first festival was in the summer of 2002 as a one-day event and has grown as an event to a three-day festival. The festival was originally based in Woolacombe, and ministered to the people of North Devon as well as people from all over the world. The organisers want to see local churches getting involved as much as possible and for the event to be a blessing and a reaping ground for those churches. They also want to partner with churches nationally and internationally to fulfil the Great Commission.
The festival was held in Woolacombe until 2008. The 2009 festival was held at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge (the field used for the festival in Woolacombe became unavailable).

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. How do you envision someone from the Middle East? Bassam would like to show you how the media you're exposed to is affecting your perception of, well, everything. And maybe not in a beneficial way. Hear Bassam share his idea on how we can change the way we interact with our media and each other in a way that allows for far more "truth" to be present. Bassam was born in Egypt, lived in France and England as a child, and immigrated to the US at age 13 as a foreign student. My name is Claire and this is my video answering the question, "How does mass media influence society?".
During her freshman year, Madeline was able to conduct research under a professor at MSU on the newsworthiness of mass shootings, which will be her topic of discussion. Madeline's talk will look at what makes a mass shooting newsworthy and why this matters in our society today, as well as how we can apply this to our lives in general. Madeline is a student at MSU studying Criminal Justice and Arabic. During her freshman year she was able to do research under a professor at MSU on the newsworthiness of mass shootings, which will be her topic of discussion. This is a video on the psychology of propaganda. Prof. Kroth reviews five major techniques for how American mass media manipulates and twists the view Americans have of their world. The seriousness of the distortion, and our progressive loss of contact with reality is dramatic. We are increasingly living inside a media-induced trance without knowing it. Children believe Ronald MacDonald is more real than Abraham Lincoln. From Coke to Carl's Jr., Hip-hop to the Iraq war, the role of subliminal propaganda in our lives is unveiled and exposed. This talk is based on Dr. Kroth's recent book, Duped! Delusion, Denial, and the end of the American dream. However, Duped! has been updated, and has a new title. Look for Implosion: delusion, denial, and the prospect of collapse, coming out shortly.] ...
